Hawcroft Logging: A Fork in the Road

Game Master TheLogicOfCrocodiles

The party is split, one group defending the river gate and another exploring the oddly quiet hallways of the nearby dwarven hillfort, both groups experiencing something of a breather from the assaults of those afflicted by the unfolding plague.

Unarmoured, flat-footed and prone - I don't think I've seen someone hit on an unmodified roll of seven before. :)

Thank you good sir!

I also thought that was a miss, but it seems the professor is an accomplished anesthesiologist!

@Gatsby: I've declared actions - not sure when they finish taking place, so I will hold off until told they have, if that is okay.

Oh, sorry - I thought they were declared finished in the previous post.

Silas:
Chest dragged and Skadi inside- Unless there's one I missed?

Sheet HP 9/12

All good then... :)

Great work Joseph. I'd follow your lead and test how sharp my weapons are, though I carrying a flail, not a sword. ;-)

There's so much going on! I think the driver and the unconscious npc are still outside unless I missed where someone brought them in lol

Male Human Alchemist 1

I'm shocked that I struck.

Yep, they are! :)

I think in almost every other conceivable situation you would have missed - but his ac against you was six!

Male Human Alchemist 1

Wow, that's a new record for my entire role-playing career.

They were.

There's a few times now I've submitted something and not realised posts have happened while I was composing mine. I tell you, I'm not used to this pace.
My apologies.

Ha, no problem! It's happened to me a few times as well!

yea i realized i went outside and looked for my arrow but left them out there. i have my priorities straight! very heroic.

I'm getting confused as to who is in and out - the Wild Man is still outside, with the professor sitting on him?

Silas Bishop wrote:

Yes, Kay intends to bring him inside (I believe), as she's already brought Moffrey inside and made sure he's okay. Caveth wandered out and back past them, and = while I know it was an accident - made for a very amusing scene in my head.

Very heroic indeed, Caveth! Very heroic indeed... ;)

Sorry if I caused any confusion by presuming that Kay would bring Moffrey in. In an effort to avoid duplicating actions, I try to anticipate what will occur in the future based on the intentions others have announced. So often in a pbp, you submit a post only to find that someone else was composing a post that is nearly identical, in actions taken at least. It usually works pretty well but I got a little more ahead of her than I should have.

To be honest, I probably should have assumed that too, so I wouldn't worry.

Happy New Year everyone! Pretty sure tomorrow has arrived in Australia even though it's still only today in North American. I wonder what it would be like to move to Australia and live in the future :p

Too many Daleks for my taste, but to each their own. ;)

It hit Japan about six hours ago, so I am also experiencing future world- it seems pretty normal, although terrifying quantum tears occasionally occur, turning huge swathes of the country into a wasteland of unstable temporal anomalies... but it's no big deal. We just sigh and get a broom.

Shogunai, as the Japanese say (I think it means 'it can't be helped', but my Japanese is still pretty shaky...).

Yes, Happy New Year!!

One word of warning from the future - you will inexplicably feel older... Have a great 2014. (I'll wish you a great 2015 too, but you'll have to wait.)

M Aberration

Szczęśliwego nowego roku, everyone! Though an hour or five past my time, but I have a fantastic excuse: it's also my 4 year anniversary too! I hope you all have a great year.

Aww, congratulations on the anniversary!

The closest I've got to that to celebrate is that one of the teachers gave me a christmas present that I've just opened - a huge bag of cured ham, and a knife sharp enough to slice it into decent bacon!

I mean, it's not an anniversary... but it's the best I've got! ;)

Okay, taking advantage of the post-new-year back-to-work posting lull, I thought this might be a good time to give everybody the chance to look at our potential sixth player (it's not the wolfhound).

Harbek Toruun, a dwarf engineer.

He's had his character and backstory ready for a few days now and is a friend of OberonViking, if I remember correctly. I think he'd be a good fit for the world, based on his backstory and a few messages back and forth, and his character would fill in what looks like a skill-gap in the party that may come in useful.

So - what are your thoughts, people?

Oh, and get posting sometime soon - big things coming up! ;)

probably in the same way we know little red riding hood, or that you fall asleep if you prick your finger on the needle of a spinning wheel. So maybe not exactly by name, but you'd know all the signs.

He' sad because he couldn't finish his knitting, even with your really big needle. ;)

Really hoping to hear that Atterleigh has calmed before Silas and the Professor come running in.

Kay... about that... :(

Table! Sorry - it's hard to keep track of things when I'm in the bath! Which I am, because my town has become a giant wall of snow and hot water is cheaper than kerosene for the heater. :)

Bonus points if you have any unfortunate mental images due to the above statement, because you don't know what I look like!

It's been an odd sort of a day.

Oh, yes, that's good then.

Your avatar's expression really made that comment. :)

HP: 17 / 28 | Halfling Barbarian

I know it shouldn't but an avatar can make a huge difference toy my perception of the other characters.

I agree - I like to think of myself as the jimminy cricket of GMs.

I can only see the Red Mantis assassin. ;-)
