Hmm. Does restrained prevent teleportation? For some reason I'm thinking it doesn't. If I can teleport, I will Shadow Step to H11 first.

Nayce swings his blade as more shadows surround Jorenn.

Strangling Shadow 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (15) + 17 = 32 vs Fort (includes +2 for flanking - if I couldn't teleport, subtract 2 from the roll). 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 damage on a hit and the target takes ongoing 5 damage and is immobilized (save ends both). Plus 1d8 ⇒ 3 poison damage (Venom Hand Assassin feat). Effect: Until the target saves against this power, you can pull the target 3 squares as a free action once during each of your turns.

On a miss: Half damage, and the target is immobilized (save ends). The "Effect" above would still apply until she saves, but the poison damage would be lost.

Another shroud on Jorenn.

I also activate my Slayer's Endurance power in anticipation of what is to come. (The first time an enemy takes damage from your assassin’s shroud before the end of your next turn, you gain 5 temporary hit points for each shroud on that enemy.)

Isari's blade turns pitch black as he slashes at the dwarf in front of him, sapping her strength. "Come, face me."

Just call me Elric. Anyway, Enervating Blade(vs Fort, Effect: Target deals half damage to my allies(Save ends), can still hit me just fine): 1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 16 + 2 = 302d10 + 7 ⇒ (4, 2) + 7 = 13


Jorenn spins to glare at the swordmage and Isari sees her eyes glow with the maddening taint of gold.

Good old Elric. I have a 14 year old son. It feels like I'm living with him (minus the cursed sword, as far as I know).

Paracelix turns his attention to Isari. "My master will take your riches." The swordmage boggles as a ferocious mental attack buffets him, causing him to drop his weapon. Jorenn laughs as Isari disarms himself.

Betrayal of Riches (Fort). On hit an item of the target is affected (roll d6) and the target suffers a secondary effect based on the item's location.
1d20+14=34. Paracelix v Isari. Crit. 16 damage and ...
1d6=3 (Hands). Isari drops everything he is holding.

Sword held high in the Arkhosian High Style, he joins the fray against Jorenn by moving to I11.

Heavy, overhand blows rain down on Jorenn as she is forced to raise her urgrosh in defence.

What sort of attack did Paracelix use on Isari? There might be an OA from Swordy Sid possible.

The smell of ozone fills the air as Guldarin again pulls the first storm towards the present. It bursts forth in the middle of the room, rocking both Jorenn and Paracelix with it's power.

Tide of the First Storm, area burst 2 centred on J11; targets all enemies in burst.

Left to his own devices, Swordy greatly underestimates Paracelix's reflexes. Guldarin is wiser and makes no such error. Ozone scented air bursts around renegade dwarf and devil alike, smiting both of them with its primal force.

Taking a further cue from Guldarin, Swordy makes a much better job of his next attack and lands a solid hit.

OA missed, everything else hit.

It was perfect thanks. I am going to keep this guy pretty much as is, to stay with continuity and I would have picked a devoted Cleric anyway if I was going to be a healer. Maybe tweak some feats or powers but other than the core will be the same. I cannot see the map from work and I would like to post to keep the game going smoothly. Am I within 5 squares of either target, so I can make a ranged attack.

Amenephus's attack does nothing but light up the room, but seems, if nothing else, to rouse Dorvin from his enforced inactivity. Hefting his axe, the warlord grunts with disgust.

"Treacherous gobbet o'misbegotten haggis. Hit me if y'can, ye lanky streak o piss." he bellows and stomps towards Paracelix.

Brash Assault. Paracelix gets a basic attack with CA. If it hits, Guldarin makes a basic attack with CA v the same target.

No worries. I try and keep a look out for things like that, but I don't always catch it. Yell if I get anything wrong - we all tend to watch each others back for missed/mixed up stuff.

Edit: Crit. How fancy. 2d8 ⇒ (7, 8) = 15 bonus damage from the weapon. Max damage on the attack is 22. Rerolling the 1 on the shroud dice because it's brutal 1d6 ⇒ 3.

Jorenn reels under the force of Nayce's devastating attack. Bloodied and desperate, she turns on Isari, wrecking vengeance where she can. Blows rain around the swordmage and she forces him back, standing over his weapons.

Alright, I'm bloodied. Very bloodied.

Isari steps back, reeling from the blows. Then, with a quick gesture his blade is flying through the air and back to his hands and Isari enters a defensive stance. "Six seconds. I expected longer after your boast."

I assume I can't pick my sword back up with a minor action now? Shift to L9, standard action to get sword back with Swordbond, AP use Second Wind.

Also, Rusty gets a basic attack since he marked her last turn.


Dragonborn Fighter 12

Whether it's due to fatigue or desperation, Jorenn lets her guard down, affording Rusty the opportunity to strike.

Combat Challenge 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17 vs AC, 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 damage. In the event this drops Jorenn, the immediate interrupt would negate the 48 damage from the two urgrosh attacks.

Edit: Terrible, just terrible!


Rusty can't stop the attack on Isari, but the swordmage's blade leaps into his hand, at least allowing him to defend himself.

Paracelix snickers unpleasantly. He shifts away from Swordy and the looming menace of Dorvin.

In my equipment there is a Phylactery of Action (heroic tier), I cannot find anywhere what this thing does. Any ideas? It is from the Hommlet Module, but I do not have it.

Don't know why it's not/no longer in the Compendium nor Character Builder Shop but here's what Google says it does:

Phylactery of Action:
Power (Encounter): No Action. Reroll a saving throw against any effect on you that applies one or more of these conditions: dazed, immobilized, petrified, restrained, or stunned. You must use the new result, even if it's lower.

The dragonborn follows the devil-dwarf around to the other side of the desk (shift to I10) and this time instead of chopping downwards, swings his sword upward in a vicious arc.

Dizzying Blow 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34 vs AC, 3d10 + 8 ⇒ (2, 10, 2) + 8 = 22 damage. Hit: Jorenn is immobilised (se). Rusty continues to mark Jorenn until the end of his next turn.

Rusty, perhaps foolishly, parleys with the devil Paracelix from across the room.

"If it pleases his Lordship, I offer him my hearing instead so that I may be saved from your snickering."

Guldarin has a power that forces a reroll on Saving throws. I was intending it for Mr Paracelix's amusement, but if you want it I can oblige.


Isari - very true about the blade. Reaching under Jorenn wouldn't have been a fantastic idea. It's just nice to see it is a useful class feature in this case.

Another weather system forms around Guldarin and introduces Paracelix to the inevitable and wondrous power of lightning. The tame storm arcs happily around the devil's golden platemail.

Swordy flies gracefully over the desk and attacks Jorerrn, but occupied with her wounds, she finds nothing to fear in the angelic form.

Nayce's attack makes no impact on a dwarf as fanatical and desperate as Jorenn.

Staggering under the effects the heroes have piled on her head, she can do nothing but extract her crossbow and fire gamely at Isari. It avails her nothing. The poison hurtling through her increasingly ravaged body ruins her aim.

Paracelix smiles and points at Amenephus, using the distraction to drive his flail hard into the swordmage.

Make a thievery check v Amenephus's Str I think, since no stats are given for this.

Save v ongoing for Paracelix: 1d20+2=9. What is it with my monsters? They seem to have a death wish.

Rusty will have none of this nonsense. He strikes hard at Jorenn, hoping to end her misery, if nothing else and then turns his attention to Paracelix. His passing attack nearly finishes the deluded traitor and the follow up blow on the devil bloodies Paracelix.

Looking at the poison wracked dwarf, you see that it is only a matter of time before she drops with the pain.

Think you can use Swordy as a flank. In which case, you just hit Jorenn.
