I just lost my main computer's hard drive on Wednesday. More than 5 years old. Let that be a warning - backup, backup, backup! I'm running off computer #2 right now, which isn't too bad (85% functional). I've ordered a new hard drive (and an upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Professional) for the original computer.

This event has given me an opportunity to reorganize, etc.

Wow! Yeah I've taken to having everything on both Google Drive and Norton Back up, just to be safe. Cloud storage is your friend. And I have an external Hard Drive just to be safe.

I've got tomatoes in the garden, a fig tree exploding with figs, and grass that needs cutting every 3 days. Plus, with North Carolina, there's always the threat of hurricanes from the Gulf.

Of course, the way you guys & gals are going through this Palace, there might not be any creatures on this Level once you go South again...

I hope everyone is planning a nice Labor Day for themselves, and is not stuck in the leftovers of Hurricane Ida. Said hurricane did nothing to central NC - a nice wind under cloudy skies, and less than 1 inch of rain. Yawn. I still have to cut the grass every 3-4 days under this ideal grass growing weather!

The entire NYC/LI/NJ train and subway system was shut down, had a tornado 15 mins from my house. Was pretty unreal for a hurricane to have that much power left after traveling from Louisiana to New York over land.

Well, if you believe in the HAARP weather machines, there's your answer.

Yay! Activity! And the game goes on!

I need a new computer. Any recommendations? It's either going to be something from https://www.ibuypower.com/ or self-built using ibuypower as a blueprint.

It won't be right away, as my cash flow is a glacier, as the saying goes. But I'd like something that doesn't crash every 48 hours, like my current HP Elite 8300.

I've always custom-built my PCs... though of course that can cause annoyances sometimes. I don't have specific recommendations, but if you put together a build plan I can give you feedback on some of the parts, potentially.

Holidays are here - things might be a little slow, but I am still online!

That being said, my elderly mother is having breathing problems so we are going to visit her doctor tomorrow (11/23).

My mother has congestive heart failure, according to the X-ray, with fluid around her lungs and in her lungs. Hence the breathing problems. But her younger brother in Texas also has CHF, and was up and walking within days. So some good news.

I'll be going back and forth to the hospital for the next few days.

Thanks, everyone. Yes, my mother is better. She's now trying to find natural, alternative foods and supplements to the medicines the doctors gave her, because she doesn't like the side effects. But I made sure she kept the initial prescriptions, and uses them when needed.

Happy New Year! 2022 has GOT to be better than the last two years.

Happy New Year to you all. It has been a rough start for us.

Everyone is safe, but my parents’ house burnt down last night while they were at a friend’s house for the ball drop.

We are visiting my parents and my in-laws. They live near each other and we all get along very well (I love my in-laws and my wife loves my parents). My wife, son and I have been at my wife’s parents, but we ate dinner at my parents house last night. Kind of still in shock.

A lot of memories in that house, there is some hope that some items in the basement might not be completely burnt, but nearly everything else is.

My parents are staying at a friend’s house for now while the friends are out of town. The people who offered their house are some of the kindest people I know. My parents are surrounded by a lot of loving friends and neighbors.

Counting the blessings that no one is hurt.

Still praying for MichaelCullen's family after the loss of their parent's house.

We have another "winter storm" planned for Sunday, 16 January. It could go all the way up the Appalachian Mountains from Georgia to New York. Eight inches of snow in the mountains of NC. So prepare early and stay safe out there, players.

Sorry everyone, I had to admit my mother to the local hospital last night. I'll update as soon as I can. My mother was incoherent and not waking up fully. She went from the ER to the ICU last night, and I left her sleeping peacefully.

I will say a prayer for her and your family.

Hello players,

My mother Shirle died yesterday (13 April 2022) at the hospice home. Her body couldn't take the travel from the hospital to the hospice, and she died as soon as she got to her room. Shirle died peacefully, asleep for the past 3 days.

Thank you for all your prayers.

I will continue the game as soon as I am able.

I'm so sorry for your loss. May her memory be a blessing.

And my 50th birthday was yesterday, 19 April.
