I get to go home today. Spent the last 4 months in a hotel for work. Cant wait to get back home. An odd parallel to my character.

Trust me, I understand. I don't know if I've ever been this stressed out in my life.
Well, on top of EVERYTHING political this 03 November, I had an uncle who died. At 69. From a second stroke. He smoked about 2 packs a day for 30 years, and tried to quit, but it was too late. And because of my aunt testing positive for COVID-19, my uncle's body was cremated and there won't even be a funeral service. Maybe a memorial service later. But 6 states away from my current location.
So, on with the game updates!
Sorry to hear that, Pace. It's been such an insane year. Here's hoping for some normalcy as we move into 2021.

I lost an aunt on the 4th as well.
She had suffered from dementia for a few years now and her passing was not unexpected.
Wow. Dementia is harsh, harsher than Alzheimer's. My condolences, MichaelCullen.

Covid hit, working from home became untenable (3 small children), I got behind, then more behind, then depressed. Finally I just kinda gave up on gaming for a while.

Yes, clear the cookies. That was my problem. It's just a few clicks with your browser (Brave, Firefox), then a restart.
The good news is, you can turn cookies back on after the restart.

Valentine's Day - for those with a significant other, you are truly blessed. I've been single my entire life.
Gm, I hope this was OK, but as a player (who recently missed a chunk of time) I was completely lost as to what's going on in game.
I actually own LOF, I ran it in person (through Book 2) years ago. I skimmed through the Book we are on, just to get a sense of what's going on....and I'll summarize it below for everyone.
It all started in Kelmerane (Book 1) where we saved the town from Kardswaan (one of the 5 Winds). We then found out that Kardswaan was a servant of Nefeshti, and they had some beef with an ancient Efreeti named Jhavhul. But, we weren't involved in all that....yet.
Next, after some time doing our own thing (Khayal got married, Hajar became Abbott Bishop, Yazi and Bartan did some stuff), we find out some Gnoll is trying to destroy our town. (I think we picked up new members here as some people had drifted off). Well, we weren't having that and so we marched on down to the House of the Beast and smacked the Carrion King around. Unfortunately for everyone involved....we found a magic scroll that someone left in the place.
So, we had a scroll. That hasn't turned out well for anyone. We didn't know what to do with it so we went to Katapesh. (I think we got Nasir at this point?) We fought some Gnolls and then met with Ray Ray who was supposed to tell us what this scroll was but got himself kidnapped instead and so we had to rescue him. We did that, and in the process came across a denizen of Leng and then some douchecanoe did a spell that sent us into Kakishon AND released that guy Jhavhul from way earlier.
We ended up stranded in a demiplane for awhile, and to make matters worse it started to unravel, so yeah we had to leave. (We learned all about Jhavhul here, and he isn't a nice guy...and he's out, because of us). We found out all kinds of stuff about the Planes, and the things that live in them, we killed some of them, and made friends of some. We finally got out of Kakishon, and ended up here....in the City of Brass in a semi abandoned palace. Jhavhul's palace, and now we are stuck here until we get wished out of here.
Not a bad summary. You teleported to the lowest level of this Palace in the City of Brass in the Elemental Plane of Fire. You got up a level in elevation, meeting and "commandeering" some fire-dwarf mercenaries looking for treasure as well.
You found the water genie enslaved by Javhul, and managed to find a way up to the next elevation level (which is way harder than it should be for some reason in this module). Level #3 up-from-the-lava is where you discovered the Flicking Candle thieves, who have fire-dwarf mercenaries and a demon working for them. (The demon got away.) You "commandeered" some more fire-dwarf mercenaries for yourselves. They're the ones holding some of the harder-to-move treasure that you've come across.
Now you're on Level Four, the "ground level" of this Palace. You cleared the majority of the middle of Level Four with the metal bull and the efreeti.
You tried South to find how to get out of this place, but that's where you ran into the dwarf ghost-with-delusions-of-grandeur. So the party decided to go North on Level Four this time. That led to the stairs to the pyrohydra and the Hell Hounds and the Fire Giant. You went down an elevation level again, so you could either clear this underground Level Three or go back up to Level Four again.
Beware the Ides of March?
I thought I was going to be too busy in March to game much! How is everybody? Ready to fight? Or too tired? We've only one book left after The Impossible Eye! You guys & gals can do it! One advantage is that you've almost cleared all of the Palace - now you can switch to 'clear the dungeon' tactics instead of 'sneak around and don't get killed' tactics.
Except for one teleporting demon. He might be a problem.
Don't forget the main mission! "Save the water genie, save the world!".

P.S. Every time I post in the Gameplay thread, it "disappears", but is still there in the corner "time" posts. I just have to go back and forth on the website to actually see it. Annoying, but not a game stopper.
Oh no I'm not in houses as a profession, I mean we're selling our house and buying a new one. The market is absolutely insane right now. We got significantly over asking for our house, but now we have to compete with 8-10 other offers for every house we like when trying to buy the new one. It's nuts.

Another birthday come and gone. My birthday celebration? Going to the dentist for a checkup.
They found a pre-micro-cavity. The appointment to get it ground out and replaced with a drop of resin is next month.

Happy birthday! I had one in March... but time has no meaning in COVID-world. So, yay! LOL
