Byron Swiftwater |

I guess this is a way to try and weasel my way into games but I always do art for characters in the games I play.
Here are some examples.
A Game in which I played Byron on a much higher level and a little less friendly:

Here is another PC from the game who couldn't find a good icon and wanted some art done:

Byron Swiftwater |

Byron smiles. The pointlessness was over now.
"I wonder how much they will continue to be a problem. I don't think they will give up."
Byron grabbed his number randomly, not looking back to see if anyone was cheating by grabbing more then one. Fate was at play here, if he was meant for this then his number would be true.
After, he approached Ryuu, Thorin and Salomae. Shaking their hands. The gnome looking a bit proud. "Good work out there, it can take a lot to stand up to authority. Sometimes I feel like the greatest adventure we take is not in tombs or castles but in finding the limits of our own selves."
Byron paused, as if deciding something.
"Something tells me these numbers are more then just for a lotteries sake. They may become important later. In that case I want you both to know mine."
Byron extended his palm revealing the "42".
Golem 0042B reaction came quickly -Exclamation- Fascinating -Retort- Existence of fate still 94.56% unlikely. Recovery time = one minuet
Byron thought it best to continue the conversation at the bar.

Ryuu Rossburg |

Fascinating!
Ryuu's eyes light up Byron's first sentance.
One should only stand against authority, when it is that same authority that abuses its power, and breaks laws in itself. Though I do heartily agree that the most important adventure in life is one of finding ones self. Indeed, finding, and pushing those limits to the extreme, is the one of the tenants of my master's teachings.
also, I greatly need a bit of rest, as you can see I am sure.

Zanac |

Zanac enters the Blue Macaw, tossing his selected stone up in the air and catching it before settling down at the bar-top and sticking it in his pocket. "Barkeep! Tap a new keg of ale, we got a bunch of thirsty adventurers on their way"
He looks around the room for the half-orc, wishing to ask him a few questions about the previous encounter.
Is the half-orc in the main room of the inn?"

Salomae Amsel |
Salomae smiles and shakes the hand of the gnome with the strange clockwork companion. "I had a feeling that not everyone came to Wati to simply plunder treasure. Sometimes it's enough to simply see what's on the other side of the door, so to speak."
Stooping down, she grabs one of the numbered stones from the spilled brazier. She looks to see which number she's pulled.
Lotto: 1d1000 ⇒ 230
"And there we have it! Let's meet back up at the Blue Macaw once everyone has their number; I think we could all use a drink or two while we wait to see what the The Serendipitous Path has in store for us."
With that, she turns and begins to head back towards the Blue Macaw, walking quickly in an attempt to catch up with Zanac. After a few paces she spins around and continues to walk backwards. She calls, "That includes you, Mister Dwarf, and you too, Mister Sparklehands," in a jaunty tone.
That last is addressing Graxzos and Orcen, respectively.

Ryuu Rossburg |

With the cleric seemingly nowhere to be found. Ryuu breaks from the main group to speak with the armored warrior that healed him before.
I beg pardon, but, if you would be so kind, could you help in aiding me with this wound? I could pay you if need be. It is proving a rather disruptive pain.
after being healed a bit, (or not) He will make his way back to the blue macaw and take Tinq up on that offer to use the basement/cellar for mediation.
Lottery: 1d1000 ⇒ 344

![]() |

Thorin moved forward too and drew his stone. stone: 1d1000 ⇒ 691
"Interesting." He began nodding he tried to get a glance of the woman in the plate, wondering if it were the same one. curiosity sated he followed some of the others back to the Blue Macaw. He found himself near the half-elf Salomae. You think they really planned on killing us off one by one eh? Thats pretty dark and sneaky. Glad that it ended for the best then. After the cat gets you a drink, the next one is on me Princess." He said with a wink before he disapeard into the throng to check with the innkeep about the plate mail wearing girl. He was curious if she was awake yet, and if she was (and not the same one) she had come here for a stone he bet. It would be a shame for her to not get one. Besides he could give her a few pointers about the life.

Robert Melechant |

Ryuu, I've being looking for you. You took quite a beating out there. Here, let me put a cure on you
cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
How does that feel? Don't worry about payment, your conversation with me before was payment enough.
After making sure Ryuu was OK, he goes and draws a stone
lottery stone: 1d1000 ⇒ 93

Ryuu Rossburg |

o wow, so I am back at full now. lol. nice roll mate
thank you, I feel much better, surely you are in good graces of your deity. I think, I may attempt to meditate for a bit after quenching the thirst this towns heat has brought to me. If you so wish I would be willing to purchase one for you as well, as at least some form of actual payment. Also, while It may not be the most social of things but you are welcome to join me should you so wish.

Vathan |

Vathan shakes his head and does not know how to really take the show that they just witnessed. He served the Ruby Prince and did not fully understand the politics or interests of the Pharasman clerics. Maybe Rasim would have a clue. He casually steps forward, grabs a lottery stone, and walks back to the Blue Macaw with Rasim. Along the way, he asks in Osiriani, "How do you interpret what we just saw? I don't know much about religious politics."
lottery stone: 1d1000 ⇒ 819

Rasim Kader |

"Yeah, I have no idea. Obviously the three adventurer types were all for opening the tombs, and the priests of Wati think they're heretics. Anything more than that would be an uneducated guess," Rasim replies to Vathan in Osiriani, clutching his stone on their way back to the Blue Macaw. "I'm 885. Which number did you get?"

![]() |

Kaina walks toward the pile of stones, speaking quietly, mostly to himself.
I am very confused as to what has happened. The newcomers spoke against the Pharaoh, but the priests intended for those who heed the Pharaoh's call to be killed... How do I heed the Pharaoh's wishes if none of those involved in the lottery are proper servants?
He picks up a stone, and returns to the Macau, and returns to his seat at the bar. He doesn't even remember to look at the number until after he's already begun drinking his beer.
stone: 1d1000 ⇒ 522

Orcen Faust |

1d1000 ⇒ 777
Orcen looked at the triple sevens, knowing that it was a lucky choice. Though whether it would be chosen in the selection was still an unknown variable.
He walked back into the Blue Macaw, noting all those who'd fought and witnessed the strange events - of the most important note to him was the armored woman with the half-orc and dwarf. Hadn't that been the same one who'd been dying of heat stroke earlier? It seemed peculiar that she would be up and about so early again.
To that point, he walked over to Genesar Tinq, his disarming smile on his face. "So, how is the woman? The one who fainted?" He asked.
Man, that's a rather surprising lucky roll - or not, depending on how you look at it.

Orcen Faust |

Orcen looks between Issac and the woman with the dwarf, debating who to approach first - he decided to go for the half-orc, taking a seat and giving him his best witless smile. "That was quite a display out there. You really upset the high priest. But I'm not quite clear why you did that," He tells him. "Though, it did sound like you're also a faithful of Pharasma."

Zanac |

As Zanac sips his ale the catfolk who had addressed him in the crowd earlier sits down nearby and not to far past him sat the half-orc from earlier. Zanac looks from one to the other, very conflicted about which to approach first. One the one hand, the catfolk somehow learned his name but Zanac had no idea of his but on the other the half-orc showed quite the impressive display at the number collection and it seemed he was entering the Necropolis himself.
Eventually he mentally flipped a coin and settled on talking to the half-orc first and picked up his ale as he headed that way. As he walked behind the catfolk, however, he leaned over and said in catfolk "We should meet up and talk later. I'd like to know how you know me before I have to...silence you." he said with a wink to indicate he was joking. As he reached an empty seat near the half-orc, Zanac plopped himself down in the chair and set his ale on the bar, nodding towards Orcen sitting down on the other side.
"Indeed, quite the show you put on. My name is Zanac and I'd be quite interested in learning what the hell just happened out there. One minute we're being 'tested' and the next we have a religious argument going on. What exactly have we signed up for?" he asks in Common.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 Diplomacy to gather information
Edit: Perhaps I should just take a 10 next time xD. Or this time if DM allows it

Graxzos Khar-Bulkhet |

When Graxzos arrives back at the Blue Macaw, he orders an ale from a serving girl and stands, drinking idly, feeling Cayden's power flowing through his veins and keeping an eye on the others. He finds Salomae on the floor and stands with her, watching Orcen interact with the half-orc.
"So, whatcha make of him, eh?" he asks quietly. "You thinkin' o' teamin' up with him for his magicky hands?"

Ryuu Rossburg |

As ryuu opens the door to the tavern he asks for some water, paying the normal price for an ale.
He spots the woman and moves to her.
I would like to thank you for stopping long enough to heal me. I also notice you are the same warrior that succumbed to heat exhaustion early this day, I am glad to see you are ok. If you don't mind me asking, what is your name? I am Ryuu.
As he thanks her Ryuu gives a slight bow. Then takes a seat if there is one open as he continues to talk.

Orcen Faust |

"Sure thing. You're a decent sort, Issac of the Stones," The young man tells him, leaving him to his drink, before going over to the dwarf and armored woman.
"I see that you've recovered from your heat stroke miraculously - and that you've chosen to don the same armor that caused it in the first place," He says to her. "You know, they say that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result every time."

Zanac |

Zanac, did you never mention your name in-character? I was just assuming you had.
Haha I did but not directly to you. Easiest solution is to simply say you overheard it when I called out to Ryuu (I think it was ryuu anyways lol)
"Now see, that's not quite true. I signed up to go exploring. The treasure is simply a perk." Zanac says with a conspiratorial wink before continuing, seemingly not hearing the large half-orc's wish to be alone. "You seem to be something like myself, a bit more of an explorer than a money grubber. If I'm not mistaken you're here for more personal reasons then simply some quick cash." Zanac raises his hands to show a sign to indicate he's not trying to be intrusive."I know it's none of my business but I'll have to admit my curiosity is driving me crazy. Why ARE you here?" Zanac takes a sip of his ale as he waits on Issac's response.

Bridgitte |

"To avoid true deception, the injuries had to be real. And we had to know who you were."
The dwarf next to her laughed. "I told her just to lie. Most of you are too stupid to know the difference. But to directly lie is against the 'code.' Foolishness. All I had to do was laugh, and it is easy to laugh at her."

Isaac of the Stones |

"You are right. It is none of your business, but I will reward your rudeness." he sets his drink down. "I am here because I must be here, just as you are. The reasons we choose to tell ourselves are fabrications, lies we tell ourselves to feel in control. Now please, the day has been long, and proves to be longer still. Let me alone."

![]() |

Kaina wanders over to Bridgitte and interrupts the conversation. He's still confused by the recent events, and it has made him irritable. The world should make sense. Our ruler makes a decision, and the people follow it. There should not be all this - politics - about who and how and why.
I do not understand what the purpose of this dishonorable deception was. Nor do I understand what this rift among the Pharasmans has to do with the divine mission that the Ruby Prince has declared shall be undertaken. If you wished to know who I am, you had only to ask. I am the humble servant of Osirion and the Pharaoh. I seek only to serve my nation and my Prince. And I appreciate neither being deceived nor being involved in whatever conflict your group has with the clerics outside.

Salomae Amsel |
Having made it back to the Blue Macaw, Salomae found herself torn on who to approach first. She had barely entered the inn before being approached by a human man that she had never personally met but had seen earlier with the other contestants. Before she could even answer the question he posed to her, he was gone, disappearing into the crowd with a wink and a promise to buy her a drink.
Next, she spotted both Orcen and Zanac, engaging in conversation with the half-orc from earlier. Heh, guess Zanac forgot about that drink for the time being. Can't blame him, I'm kinda curious about those three myself. As she stands there thinking, she hears a familiar voice ask, "So, whatcha make of him, eh? You thinkin' o' teamin' up with him for his magicky hands?" Looking down slightly, she sees the dwarf from earlier. She shrugs.
"Possibly? I really suppose it all depends on who gets chosen; they said they would pick enough numbers to make five groups. Seems like there are plenty of folks here to cover steel, spell, and everything in between that you'd need for something like this - and most of them looked like they knew what they were doing," she answers. "I stepped in because I know from experience how damned irritating it is to try and make with the magic when you've got a foe up close and personal like that." She then grins and speaks a single word, as four small orbs of light materialize in the air. They glow softly and float around the area just above Salomae's head.
Cast Dancing Lights if anyone is wanting to make a Spellcraft check.

![]() |

He wanted desperately to talk to the maiden in the plate mail but the spellcaster beat him to the punch again. He just managed to close enough to over hear the last part. "Then I would imagine you don't need my help. A pity that. Can i buy the pretty and probably dangerous lady a drink? Thorin offered politely interupting. He expected of course for her to glare at him or something having been out there for the battle of stones he recognized a serious warrior when he saw one. Worse if she was as religious as she appeared she wouldnt take kindly to his lines.

Zanac |

Zanac raised his hands in defeat at the murderous gleam in the man's eyes before picking up his ale to move. Today is not the day to die from curiosity he thought. "As you wish. I shall leave you to your own devices then."
As Zanac shifted over a few seats he decided that it might prove entertaining to keep an eye on that particular group of people as the exploration began. Zanac landed in a seat next to Kaina with a thump and began talking in catfolk again. "Now then my friend, I fear you have me at a disadvantage. You seem to know who I am but I don't know the same about you. But as you have noticed, my name is Zanac so what's yours?"

Ryuu Rossburg |

I applaud your strength of will and bravery my good madam. I must admit, this code of yours intrigues me, if an opportunity arises, I would certainly enjoy discussing it in more depth. But, do be careful when pushing ones self past your limits. Also, why did you need to discover "who we were"? I myself am but a humble monk, traveling the world in search of knew training, and knew life perspectives.
He looks towards the dwarf,
I believe having a set code helps to keep ones direction in life good dwarf, Perhaps you have one? Perhaps you don't even know you have one. Either way, someone's code is rarely something mock. as an after thought he says And not all are as simple-minded as you believe.
He turns back to the woman.
As much as he wanted to begin his meditation to help ease the stiffness and soreness from his limbs, his curiosity proved stronger than the pain and want of meditation.
If I may, You and your friends proclaim the priests false, a very bold thing to do. Might I ask the basis of this? Oddly enough, I believe you speak true from your heart. You said they have forsaken there gift?
I completely missed roberts post somehow. lol.I would have bought him a drink and asked if he wished to join me in talking to the maiden.
To Robert I am indeed curious about this split, would you care to accompany me as I find out a bit more? I also noticed that that is the same woman who fainted before.

Graxzos Khar-Bulkhet |

Graxzos eyes the Dancing Lights Salomae has summoned. "Oooohh, very pretty. I don't go in for magic much meself; prefer to rely on the trusty steel and powder, I do." He pats his pistol possessively and grins. "I can see yer a pragmatic one. I tell ya what, if'n we both get picked to go delvin' inta these tombs, what say we join up? Bring the princess--" he jerks his head at Orcen--"along if you like. With yer blade, his magic, and my powder (and expertise, heh), we should be a formidable team."

Orcen Faust |

Orcen looked over at the catfolk who'd stepped in, before replying to Bridgitte. "So, I'm to believe that your deliberately put your life at risk of dying from heat stroke because you desired to know who the people were who'd go and explore the necropolis?" He asked her. "...Well, I have to say, you've succeeded quite well, haven't you? But you should have sought out a way that couldn't have killed you," He scolded her.
"I respect Pharasma as much as any of her faithful, but I'd rather not risk an early departure to her Boneyard because I was more of a fool than any other. That said, I'm very, very glad that you're all right," He switched gears, smiling at her. "We didn't get a chance to introduce ourselves on account of you being unconscious. I am Orcen Faust of Absalom."

![]() |

Having got his frustrations off his chest, Kaina returns to his seat without waiting on a response. He slumps back down, finishes his beer, and waves for another.
Zanac landed in a seat next to Kaina with a thump and began talking in catfolk again. "Now then my friend, I fear you have me at a disadvantage. You seem to know who I am but I don't know the same about you. But as you have noticed, my name is Zanac so what's yours?"
(in Catfolk)Sorry about that; it was rude to use your name before we actually introduced ourselves. I was worried that that was going to turn into a general brawl out there. Anyhow, I'm Kaina. Grew up in the deserts around Osirion; mostly west and north of here. Came to town when the Pharaoh said that he wanted the necropolis explored. Figured there ought to be a local or two involved. You're not local though; where do you come from?

Bridgitte |

Bridgitte stands up suddenly. "Isaac was right. This is hard." To Raina, "There was no deception. I told you. My injuries were genuine." To Orcen, "There was no other way. I needed to know who would help, who would watch, and who would laugh with the cruel." She nods at the dwarf. "Mere questions are not enough. This is why. So that this infernal confusion will be banished again!"
She ignores the rest of your questions and walks to the stairs upstairs, clearly upset.
The dwarf looks back and forth with a twinkle in his eye to match the polished brass in his beard, hair, and upon his face.

Zanac |

(in Catfolk)Sorry about that; it was rude to use your name before we actually introduced ourselves. I was worried that that was going to turn into a general brawl out there. Anyhow, I'm Kaina. Grew up in the deserts around Osirion; mostly west and north of here. Came to town when the Pharaoh said that he wanted the necropolis explored. Figured there ought to be a local or two involved. You're not local though; where do you come from?
"That's classified." Zanac puts his finger in front of his mouth to mime a "shush" noise but winks at Kaina. "Just kidding. Truth be told I'm not sure where I came from. I lived at the academy for as long as I can remember so I guess the closest place I have to say I'm 'from' is there. It's set out in the woods of Kelish so it's incredibly hard to find. Most of the inhabitants are of Elvish decent so it was fairly obvious that I wasn't from around there." Zanac laughs depreciatingly. "But I can't complain. They raised me well and trained me even better."
Heading to bed so feel free to move off to other conversations. Zanac will wave goodbye and understand :)

Salomae Amsel |
Salomae grins at the dwarf. "I like your style. You've got a deal," she says as she extends her hand to the dwarf. "These past couple of hours have been such a blur that I realize I never got a chance to properly introduce myself. I'm Salomae Amsel, formerly of Andoran. You?"
As she speaks, she notices the armored woman from earlier suddenly stand up and head for the stairs, looking rather upset from all of the questioning.

Ryuu Rossburg |

As the woman walks off, clearly upset for some reason he sighs
ah well so much for that I would have very much liked to hear more. But I guess its time to rejuvenate just a bit.
To orcen come my friend I believe we have bothered them enough. And something tells me we will find out who they are when we need to know. For now let us rest from the farce of a trail today.
He turns to the dwarf, I believe you are better than you show, let me purchase you a drink for being so troublesome.

![]() |

at least she didnt try to run me through like the last two maids i took a fancy too. Thorin thought to himself eyeing the man who had helped and the scolded her. While he agreed it seemed a foolish plan to begin with, her methods were her own. He made his way to the bar a little too annoyed to be that sociable.
"Get that lass over there a drink on me and anothee bottle of wine. he added pulling coin out the counter and motioning to Salomae.
He once again glanced abour for thr haughty local woman (Akina) and tje pretty bookish one (Charlotte)

Orcen Faust |

"Who are we? Good question. Better question is why by the Pharaoh's balls I should answer?" He takes another sip of his drink and leans back in his chair, setting his amazing bulk into the creaking wood.
"Good point. I suppose there's not much reason for you to tell me anything, is there?" He said, smiling at the dwarf. "I suppose I'll find out eventually. Or not. Fate is a funny thing, after all. Could be our paths will never cross again." He shrugged.
