You confused me a little when you said we could use any remaining spells to heal hit die when "At the end of a long rest, a character regains all lost hit points." I guess we would heal up before resting in case we are disturbed? In that case then it almost makes sense to take a short rest before a long rest.

Lady Koralyn Nightstar |

Thinking about taking Blur as my second free spell even though its second level and not third. Blur was not an option for me until the hat if disguise as it required concentration and I always had to concentrate on my disguise spell.
Also I think it cost quite a bit of gold for us to scribe spells from each other. Like 100gp per spell level. Is that right? And how much time would it take to scribe spells?

My mistake. I was thinking about a healing variant we're not using. You get all of your Hit Dice and all of your Hit Points back at the end of the long rest.
As for scribing spells: "For each level of the spell, the process takes 2 hours and costs 50 gp."

Lady Koralyn Nightstar |

Hmm. That is not RAW either. We should get all our HP but only half our level in HD for healing in short rests. That helps limit healing in short rests I guess.
As for scribing, do we actually need the inks or are you good with us just making off the gold?

Lady Koralyn Nightstar |

I have invisibility. Copy that from me. If you take blur iIl copy it from you instead of Flamjng Sphere now and then I can learn another 3rd level spell you can copy later. You can even pick it. :)

I wanted to give a heads up that I will be on vacation and traveling through central Europe from May 9-May 25. I'll be able to post some while traveling but will have to do so from my phone or iPad. So please bot me if required and know that I'll post when I can.

DM Under a Dark Sun |

Hey all - Just wanted to check in. I know it's a busy time, and I'm fine with a little bit slower pace of posting, but I also feel like I'm having to do a bit of dragging any time we are not in combat. It's not my intention (or my interest) to write a short story carrying you from combat to combat. It's a cooperative campaign, so my expectation is that I post, then all of you post how you react to what I posted, then I post, etc. If you're not posting, there's no action for me as the GM to adjudicate and react to. I can determine what happens to your characters, but I don't want to be deciding what you do. That applies in and out of combat. If no one posts, or only one or two people post, I have no way of knowing if you're absent or just don't care.
At this point, Koralyn and Dragomir have both mentioned that they may be unavailable, and that's totally fine - I know not to expect a post from them. But everyone else needs to help move the action along or let me know if you won't be able to post reliably for a time.

Wooop, partly my bad. I have family in town which can be exhausting most times. I use my living room TV as a monitor and i rather dislike people reading from it when I am trying to post my way through a great deal of games. Then i have to answer questions and give a synopsis of every game and every character, haha

Lady Koralyn Nightstar |

Hi all. Checking in sorry for my lack of posts. It's just very hard to post from my phone. But I keeping up and am excited about the sword. :) ill be home Thursday night And will start catching up straight away.

Kierdan |

Hi, everyone, I will be on vacation with the family from tomorrow morning until Friday evening. I will have my tablet with me, but I will probably not be able to post until evening U.S. east coast time each day.

Lady Koralyn Nightstar |

I am about to be on another trip. This time I'll be gone from tonight until Sunday June 25 and will not eve have cell signal so I cannot check in. Please bot me as needed.

DM Under a Dark Sun |

Koralyn's out for a week and I haven't heard from Dragomir for a bit. This is the final battle coming up. I don't mind botting two characters for the first part of the fight, but I'm going to wait for Alistair to post before starting so that it's not just half the team. At the recent rate of posting (and anticipating further board outages), we should be at most a couple of rounds into the fight when Koralyn returns.

DM Under a Dark Sun |

All: I've had a sick kiddo the last two days, but also been slow-balling a bit here until Koralyn is back. Since it's the final fight, I'd like everyone to be present (fingers crossed Dragomir checks in, as well). I'll try to get a short post up tonight, but I'll probably delay rolling initiative until Sunday.

Lady Koralyn Nightstar |

HI all. I am back from my canoe trip. I can highly recommend a trip to the Boundary Waters for anyone so inclined.
And I am ready to jump back into the game but there seems to be little to post about as we advance on the causeway.

Lady Koralyn Nightstar |

At a small con over the weekend. I hoped to be able to post there but the wifi was completely overwhelmed by the number of con goers. It was at a 4-H camp way out in the middle of no where and while nice was electronically cut off from the world. I guess some might find that part of the appeal. not me. lol.

Lady Koralyn Nightstar |

I am going on travel for work tomorrow through Thursday and then directly to Dragon Con for the weekend. I'll have my laptop and will try to keep up through Thursday but after that my time will likely be eaten by the con. Will be home late Monday September 4. Bot me as needed.

And with that, my friends, I am going to take a break - of indefinite length.
When I put this campaign together originally I planned out several more adventure arcs. And while I still have lots of ideas about what happens next, I find myself with less time than I used to and even less motivation. At this moment, I can't honestly commit to completing another 20 months of adventure, and I don't want to start something and be unable to finish.
So for now, the campaign is on hiatus. But if the muse strikes some time in the future I will contact each of you to see if you are interested in continuing on. I hope it has been enjoyable, even it things lagged a bit here and there (next time I'll know to modify those old 1E/2E adventures even more significantly. Old-school dungeon crawls don't work as well on PbP). I enjoyed gaming with all of you, and we just might have cause to do it again in the future.
Cheers!

Kierdan |

Thank you so much for an awesome campaign. I am sad to see it go on hiatus, but, I understand. The amount of thought and effort you put into this is obvious. I can imagine how much time you spent on preparing these adventures. I thoroughly enjoyed playing in the World of Greyhawk again. If you decide to continue, please keep me in mind. I would love to play some more.
Also, I wanted you to know this was my first experience with 5e. I really appreciate your patience as I learned the rules. Also, thanks for taking the time to ex plain the differences between 5e and Pathfinder/3.5. because I had so much fun playing 5e in this campaign, I Bought several of the books and introduced the system to my weekly group.

Rolen Philandril |

Yes, thank you so much for running this one. We had a great group, and I look forward to resuming this, or any other 5e adventure in the future.

Lady Koralyn Nightstar |

I have had a lot of fun at your virtual table DM Under a Dark Sun in both this and the Dark Sun game. You are a talented GM and I look forward to you returning to the GM screen one day in the future. Thanks for many months of fine gaming. And thanks for teaching me 5e. :)
I enjoyed the other players in your game too and will miss playing with each of you. If you need players for one of your games please keep me in mind.

Tenro |

I had a lot of fun with both games for sure, with both DM and everyone else. I'm glad we had such a good long run and I would play games with any of you in the future (as long as i have the time haha)!
I understand the slow-down, I had a good bit of life happen as well. So long and thanks for all the fish!

Alistair Orm |

I am very sorry to see this game end. I looked forward to seeing everyone and having such a great time, but I understand your needing some time off too. Had a blast with all of you and would love to carry this on in the future...just drop me a line!
Look forward to playing with some of you on other games, and if you have a spot at your (virtual) table, please think of me!.
