Valtyra Braga
|
Finding herself far to close to the beast for comfort Valtrya moves and draws a wand. She aims it at the beast and lets loose a gout of fire.
Damage: Fire: 3d4 ⇒ (4, 3, 2) = 9 (Reflex Save, DC 13 for half damage.)
GM Granta

@Valtyra: Wands are effectively weapons, you need a BAB of +1 to draw one as a free action during movement. So I'm going to assume you stand still and ready to use the wand if the minotaur approaches you. And the wand is at minimum DC 11.
Powerful Charge: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 12
- Grazet - 11 damage
- Liao - 2 damage
- Brady - 15 damage
Dragos' arrow sails over the minotaur's head, while Liao tries to revive Grazet. The beast drops his horns and charges Valtyra, but her fire quickly changes its mind.
Heal up, talk to Janira if desired.
Liao Shénnóng

Heal Grazet twice with healers way. 2 rounds.
2d6 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6
Then run over to Brady and use healer's way 3 times. 3 rouds.
3d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 1) = 10
heal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 to check Janira.
clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 for last spell on Janira.
Liao applies more salve to the wound before reapplying the leaf to stop the bleeding. Then he runs to Brady to repeat the process of applying the salve and covering the wound in strange leaves.
Once he's sure that everyone is at least stable and regaining consciousness, he heads to Janira. If she is still among the living, he applies the last of his healing herbs for the day.
Dragos Albescu
|
Anger still glints in Dragos' eyes as the beast runs away. However, concern for his companions wins out, and he turns his attention to them. Slinging his bow over his shoulder, he makes his way back around the outcropping and pulls out Janira's healing wand. "Anybody still hurt? That was one nasty fight."
Grazet
|
Grazet slowly sits up in the grass, rubbing his head, "Thank you, Liao. I owe you an ale at the Pig's Paunch when we get back."
He stands, dusts himself off, then picks up his falchion, stowing it over his shoulder. "Gor'm's balls, that beast was mighty. A fight worth remembering."
Grazet retrieves his pen and stationary and begins composing an account of the battle, complete with a rough sketch and heroic exaggeration of events. "Maybe Janira'd write this up for her Chronicles."

Brady Torquatus

Liao's healing bring's Brady back to consciousness, and sits up, content to remain on the ground for a little while as he examines his wounds and their binding. "Thanks. Never forget about the horns; good grief. Whoever chased that beast away, my thanks and congrats. Wow."
After taking a minute or two to gather his strength, he stands, and ambles over to Janira. "Are you okay? I'm beginning to think we should never have listened to you. That beast was a monster."
GM Granta

Are we going forward with this much damage?
- Grazet - 5 damage
- Liao - 2 damage
- Brady - 5 damage
"I'll be okay, but what about you? You're all still hurt!" Janira fusses over Grazet and Brady like a big sister, "And what do you mean about not listening to me? That's why I told you to run, he was too strong!"
Brady Torquatus
|
"Indeed, he was too strong. Fighting him altogether as a group, with a plan, might have done something. But no bother; we did listen and here we are."
He looks around, his eyes landing on the cave entrance. "While I think we've determined what the gillmen are up to in there, I think there's still more to explore. If we go back in, I sure would like to heal up a bit more."
Dragos Albescu
|
Dragos approaches Brady, and activates the healing wand. He then turns and does the same to Grazet. Once they are both healed up, he turns to Liao and says "You requested earlier to not be healed; is that still the case?"

Grazet
|
"Thank you, Dragos." Grazet thinks a moment, "We should tell the gillman about the undead we found. He may wish to cleanse the area."
Liao Shénnóng
|
"Such magics will not help me. My healing art is both a blessing and a curse. Although I've been given the knowledge to heal others in need, in return, I must abstain from such healing, as a reminder of what others must suffer without these important remedies."
Valtyra Braga
|
"We should return to the gillman. We never truly did figure out why they make the pilgrimage to this cave and that was our assigned task. Defeating that beast is merely a feather in our collective cap."
GM Granta
|
"My feet are worn out from leading that minotaur around the mountain!" Janira plops down on a clean rock. "I'm going to rest here. And it is your confirmation after all!"
---------
You find your way back to the main cavern without any difficulty or trouble, but Uori simply looks at you with obvious impatience and says, "Yes?"
Valtyra Braga
|
"Sir, we have driven the beast away that had been outside of this cave complex and hope that it shall not return."
Valtyra moves next the pool and kneels down at the waters edge. She says aloud to everyone present "I failed you all. I was afraid to place myself in harms way and because of my cowardice it nearly cost three lives today. I apologize to you all and will try to do better in the future." She bows her head in silence for a moments after she finishes speaking.
Looking to the gillman "Sir, we took note of several faded and worn carvings within this cave. They appear to be teachings of Aroden but differ from what we know of those teachings today. Do you happen to know anything about the relief carvings? Also, are you a follower of Aroden?"
Dragos Albescu
|
Dragos clears his throat slightly, and advances to talk with the gillman. "We found some undead creatures in the next room over. After dealing with them, we found this note." He offers the note he found on the dhampir to Uori. "It looks like a would-be necromancer was making undead out of "fish men" - I assume that is referring to your people. He is dead now, but I thought you should know about it."
GM Granta
|
"Yes, thank you for informing me of this. I will investigate it further, and take care of my people's remains. Please, where was this particular cavern?"
After repeating the directions to make sure that Uori won't get lost, you begin to explore the final tunnel. Like the previous ones, it is covered in eroded petroglyphs of marine animals and swirling symbols.

The persistent glow of the bluish fungi dimly lights the way deeper below the Kortos Mounts. The tunnels broaden to reveal a shallow river that bisects an immense tunnel stretching to the north and south. To the east a small passage exits the chamber at a steep incline.
Before you can explore the area though, two bipedal lizard creatures shout angrily at you and load their slings.
Dragos, Liao and Brady are up.
Dragos Albescu

Dragos looks at the lizard creatures in disgust. "Foul beasts" he says, moving forward slightly. He draws forth another arrow and lets fly at the closest one.

Feeling the moist ground gripping his feet as he moves, Brady moves carefully but deliberately to get closer to the creatures. "Kobolds!" he yells. "Watch out for traps; they're sneaky critters!" Brady hugs the wall as he moves, not able to search for traps on his own, and still feeling the shame of his rash defeat by the minotaur, he's not taking any risks.
