The light of the surface world above provides a welcome reprieve from the blue and green fungus of the caverns below, and the light illuminates a stream whose water is hastened by runoff from a recent storm further up the mountains. A ledge to the west rises up to the nearby forest canopy.

Janira and the minotaur suddenly appear again, obviously exhausted and still fighting each other.

"Holy-JANIRA! We're here to help, try to get back across the stream!" Minna calls out as they realize that their teacher is in a pretty tight spot. She hustles forward, but not so much that she outpaces Quintillus or her two nature-loving companions.

"Here, this might help if you've a mind to start shooting," she says to Klah as she places her hand on his arm to give him a little bit of guidance.

Ashwalker squints in the light, "JANIRA!" he yells, more trying to get her attention than in surprise.

The spiritual visage of an ant again forms around his body, his arms rippling with new sinew and muscle. While holding his hammer forward, Ash closes his eyes and calls forth, "Great spirits, lend me your strength!" His earth breaker grows noticeably heavier in his hands, its heft pulling his arms down.

He begins moving forward, his large frame clearly gaining speed as he runs directly towards the stream.

Minna moves forward cautiously, taking the time to bless Klah. Quintilus and Drum move all the way up to the river, and Raul traps the minotaur in a sudden growth of underbrush. Maudi begins flying a wide circle across the river, while Klah enchants his weapon and stalks forward.

The minotaur busts free of the tangling vines and charges up to Janira, just in time to prevent her from picking up her weapon. She takes a cut to the back, but manages to flee toward your party.

Ash bares down, head horizontal with the ground as he charges the stream. Gaining steam he makes a mighty leap, arms and legs cartwheeling in the air as he easily clears the distance. He lands with a audible 'thud' and plants his feet solidly on the ground, begging the Minotaur to take him head on. He growls through his gritted teeth, "You are safe Janira, as for your new found friend, I believe it is time for a visit to the Boneyard."

Minna hustles toward the river, while Quintillus begins a summons. Raul's arrow finds the target, but only after spending all its momentum, and it bounces harmlessly off the thick fur hide. Maudi reaches the minotaur first, and finally pays the price for his bravery in the form of a bone-breaking axe cut.

Klah leaps across the stream almost as easily as Maudi flew over it, then Durm slips and slides his way across the fallen log. The minotaur steps forward then and cuts down Klah with his axe, before finishing off the vulture with his horns.

Janira shouts, "Who has my healing wand?" then jumps the river and holds out a hand toward Minna.

Everybody is up. And if you know any voodoo rituals to curse my dice bot or bless your own, use it ASAP!

@Minna: Janira has a readied action to grab the wand. As long as you move through a square adjacent to her, she will grab it with her action and you can take your full turn.

Durm steps off the log and pulls out a short spear. He then shouts at the minotaur, "Why don't you try me on for size, you big dumb oaf!"

Action/Readied Action:

If the minotaur charges Durm, he will touch the ground and use his oread ability to make the earth treacherous, which should ruin the charge, I believe. If the minotaur does not take the bait, then Durm will throw the spear at him.

Treacherous Earth: Once per day, an oread with this racial trait can will the earth to rumble and shift, transforming a 10-foot-radius patch of earth, unworked stone, or sand into an area of difficult terrain, centered on an area the oread touches. This lasts for a number of minutes equal to the oread's level, after which the ground returns to normal. This racial trait replaces the spell-like ability racial trait.

Durm waits to trap the minotaur when it charges, but it prefers to take down the one enemy actually hurting it. That eagle is something special though, and it dodges all of the beast's attacks! Unfortunately, Janira stumbles just before leaping back across the stream, and barely saves herself from falling into the water.

Minna continues to push forward, finally breaking out of the undergrowth and onto the open ground near the stream. "Argh, finally!" she gasps as she stumbles to a stop next to Janira.

"Come on Lady Luck, ol' Raul (and the rest of us) could use a little good fortune right about now," she prays, crossing her fingers and looking up hopefully to the sky. "Whaddaya say???"

Actions:

Minna moves to her current position and then uses her Fortune hex on Raul. The shaman grants a creature within 30 feet a bit of good luck for 1 round. The target can call upon this good luck once per round, allowing it to reroll any ability check, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check, taking the better result. The target creature must to decide to use this ability before the first roll is made.

Once everybody is safe, the halfing sits on a rock and speaks again, "That was too close! At least everyone survived though.

"So, tell me, what did you find in the caverns? Were there any gillmen?"
