Chompy the Dragon |

Chompy hisses lightly at the kicking Gobbo. He nods in agreement with the other towards the direction they follow and quickly starts taking up the front, dancing about a bit as he attempts to sniff out their prey.
Survival: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26

Hex map's been updated
You wander northwest away from the myght tree until you reach a river. To longshanks, this would be a truly idyllic scene: gently rolling hills lead down to the meandering river's sandy banks. Te sun shines brightly and birds sing as they fly by. The river moves swiftly and cattails and reeds line the edges of the water. Out in the water, the telltale flash of silvery scales in the sunlight hints at an excellent fishing spot - especially over there, where a few large boulders stick out over the water. Who knows? Perhaps there are even some crawdads in the mud along the riverbank!
That's what a typical group of explorers would think. You, however, are goblins. Therefore, a more accurate description would be: there's a bridge over this river. There's also some big rocks that might be fun to climb on. AND THERE BE FISHIES HERE!!!!

Rugnut |

Rugnut dismounts at the water's edge and starts to rummage through saddlebags with a sly grin. He pulls threads one end of his twine through a fishing hook and ties a knot in it, then grabs a breathing tube with a lilypad on one end (for hiding!) and jumps into the water to stab fishies with the fish hook. He's pretty sure that's how fishing works.

Scrabble |

Unlike most goblins, Scrabble found fish to be rather boring prey. They didn't scream when you stab bed them, and you couldn't ride them at all.
He went exploring the nearby area instead, keeping the rest of the tribe in earshot.
Perception: 1d20 + 5d1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + (16, 5, 12, 5, 3) + 7 = 61

Chompy the Dragon |

Chompy splashed back out of the water once he had a rather full mouth of fish and spit them all out far enough away from the bank. "Chompy caught dinner. Might make good stew if added to Godbug meat." he said nodding.

Mogawg |

Mogawg waits eagerly while the others do the fishing. He nods in agreement with Chompy's statement about the stew. "Yes, very tasty!"
Was that one hex/8 hours and we're now approaching evening?

Rugnut |

Rugnut splashes about until he stabs at least one fish.
survival to provide food: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 1 = 4
It may take a while.

Breakfast the Tyrannosaurus |

The adolescent tyrannosaur glides through the water with serpentine grace, on the hunt for a piscine treat. He strikes!
survival: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
With his glittering prize, he quietly slinks back to shore for a tasty, well-earned meal.

Dys Thunderclaw |

Dys sighs as the others start splashing about, keeping a healthy distance from the water and cleaning her boomstick while keeping an eye out for threats, or things to shoot.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Your Benevolent Dictator |

Yes, that's it for this hex. Well, except for...
1d100 ⇒ 96 XD
1d100 ⇒ 58
As you continue terrorizing the fish, Scrabble suddenly hears a scary howl. It sounds kind of like a bear, but it also sounds kind of like a bird. It appears to be coming this way ... perhaps you've strayed into its hunting grounds.
Know:nature DC 14 tells you it's an owlbear.

Ser Helmut |

Knowledge (nature): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Reaching into his sack, Ser Helmut brings out one of his shineys:A rancid-smelling reddish paste, presumably the remnants of a crude fruit jam. The Wizard then cast Mage Hand, maneuvering the shiney in the direction of the Owlbear (30').
It be da Owlbear! Biggest beak and biggest claws!

Chompy the Dragon |

Owlbear?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Chompy perks up and nods "Yes, most ferocious. It come to steal fish and eats our meats!" he said loudly.
He turned about and hunkered down in a defensive stance till he saw the predator. Going Total Defense to add +4 to my AC, add in Big Game Hunter and that brings it to 22 AC.

Breakfast the Tyrannosaurus |

As Breakfast eats, a new threat to his meal wanders our of the woods. The dinosaur steps up with a growl to defend his prize, barely noticing as his goblin companion leaps upon his back.

Dys Thunderclaw |

"Owlboar? Have we found da piggy? Or did piggy find us?"
Dys perches on a rock, the boomstick ready to fire on ... that doesn't look much like a boar, but what can you do. If it moves and growls, kills it and eats it. She squints as she sights down towards the noises.
Steady Aim (move-equivalent action) to increase the musket's range by 10 feet, to a total of 50'.

Mogawg |

Placed myself on the map.
Mogawg walks over to Chompy, lays a hand on his shoulder, and with a thought causes a great horn to grow from Chompy's forehead.
"There! Now Chompy is extra scary!"
You now have a primary gore attack (1d4 damage for a small creature) to add to your assortment of natural attacks. =D
I am concentrating on the shapeshift for now. When we start Round 1 I will probably stop concentrating so I can do something else--due to my Lingering Transformation talent, the shapeshift will stay for Round 1 and Round 2 even though I'm no longer concentrating on it.

Scrabble |

Scrabble finished fastening the lead chain of his trap around a thick branch, locking it into place by sticking the metal hook at the end of the chain through one of the other links.
Then he tossed the trap right at the bearbird's feet.
Ranged Touch at ground (AC 5, nonproficiant): 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 5 - 4 = 17
The trap landed just in time to be stepped on.
Bear Trap attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Trap Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3) + 3 = 8
Rules: "sharp jaws spring shut around the creature’s ankle and halve the creature’s base speed (or hold the creature immobile if the trap is attached to a solid object); the creature can escape with a DC 20 Disable Device check, DC 22 Escape Artist check, or DC 26 Strength check.
Sniping Attempt (stealth at -20): 1d20 + 13 - 20 ⇒ (9) + 13 - 20 = 2 I'm hiding at a DC of 2!

Dys Thunderclaw |

Ack! The growly thing was really big! Bigger than the god-bug! But Scrabble was going for it, and Dys couldn't retreat without losing face! Holding her breath, she takes aim and fires at the charging bearbird.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 Damage: 1d12 ⇒ 3

Rugnut |

Rugnut warms up his throat with a phlegmy cough, then starts spewing out encouragement to his new tribe.
"DODGE THE BEAK, PLUCK ITS FEATHERS,
WE'LL BE WEARING OWLBEAR LEATHERS!"

Your Benevolent Dictator |

Wild Magic?: 1d100 ⇒ 33
The bearowl roars as Scrabble's trap clamps around its leg. It immediately begins to rend it with its powerful claws.
Sunder: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
While the thick chain remains solidly secured, it's clear that the trapped monster is strong enough to destroy it given enough time.
Dys and Chompy's attacks land glancing blows but fail to penetrate the bearowl's thick fur. (aka narrowly missed due to natural armor bonus)
New Round
Your turns

Chompy the Dragon |

Chompy looks up from between the Owlbears legs and notices the indignity of being ignored by his enemy. He roars majestically (screeches loudly) at his enemy and lets the anger of his ancestors take over. He becomes a flurry of anger and tiny claws and teeth!

Good grief...that's a lot of attacks and numbers. 5=Bab+Dex Mod, +2 from Rage, +1 from Big Game Hunter, -1 from Power Attack.

Extra Crit Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Rugnut |

Rugnut levels his sword at their new for and shouts out a challenge, "Face me and die, owlybear!"
Then he continues his incredibly inspiring song as he spurs Breakfast forward towards the beast. "BEARY SPLEEN OR HEART OF OWL, WE SORT IT OUT WHEN WE DISEMBOWEL!"
Breakfast double moved across the river and up to the owlbear.
swim: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
+1 to attack and damage to everyone, rd 2/7

Dys Thunderclaw |

The bearbird is still safely on the other side of the river, so Dys takes another potshot at it, emboldened by Rugnut's shouting.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 1 = 23 Damage: 1d12 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Mogawg |

I just realized I'm not even close to being in range of the owlbear for my negative energy bomb (Close range currently equates to...30ft). So I'm going to keep concentrating on the shapeshift which is giving Chompy that gore attack while I start moving closer.
Mogawg moves up to the water's edge, preparing to cross so he can reach the fearsome enemy with his deathly energies.
30ft move speed got me from my starting spot to the edge of the river. Standard action was used for concentrating.

Your Benevolent Dictator |

Holy Hell! That's a lot of damage!
The good news: Chompy's mad flurry of attacks has left the bowlear severely injured. The bad news: Chompy's mad flurry of attacks has made the beowlar extremely angry.

Ser Helmut |

Billy Bob Thornton decides that laying still in the foliage is a good idea!
Ser Helmut looks at his bird-lizard fly through the air. It seems to the wizard that his bird-lizard isn't doing so of it's own accord.
Ser Helmut looks at the owlbear. The little goblin decides to sneak to his bird-lizard.

Chompy the Dragon |

Chompy feels a searing hot pain and suddenly he sees the sky as he goes crashing through the brushes and rolls to a stop in water. He shakes his head and looks around.
He tries to orient himself and stumbles back out into the opening. He blinks and turns seeing the owlbear and almost jumps out of his skin till he notices the trap still in place.

Scrabble |

Scrabble came leaping out of his tree, determined to ride the bearbird before it died.
Mark Target (vs flat footed), touch attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Well, that failed. Guess I'm not safe to move yet, so I'll stay where I am and attack
Attack vs Flat Footed, foolhardy, piranha strike: 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 1 - 1 = 18

Rugnut |

Rugnut points at himself and yells out "THERE GOES MY HERO, WATCH HIM AS HE GOES!" as he and Breakfast charge. Sorry, just got out of a Foo Fighters concert so that's what you're getting this turn.
Performance continues, +1 attack and damage, round 3/7. Challenge also gives +1 to melee attacks for allies while Rugnut threatens his target.
Longsword Charge attack/damage: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 2 + 1 = 141d6 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 + 2 = 9
bite charge attack/damage: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 121d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
If the bite hits, the owlbear is battered this turn.

Mogawg |

I'm loving your theme and variations on the spelling of owlbear, YBD.
Also, you said earlier that there is a bridge over this river, but I don't see one on the map--do I need to wade/swim the river to cross?

Your Benevolent Dictator |

Scrabble descends from the heights like a mighty eagle ... with a broken wing. He almost misses the beaowlr entirely. Then he realizes that his weapon. Oh, wait - it's stuck in the monster's shoulder, leaving a jagged wound. Then Rugnut comes charging in on his mighty steed/lizard/mostly armless thing and stabs it in the belly. The mighty beast is slain!
Monster Harvesting DC 15
Owlbear Fur and Feathers - if included as a material component when casting a spell that enhances either Constitution or Wisdom, it will add half of the granted bonus (min 1) to the other listed attribute for the spell's duration. Example: bear's endurance will grant +4 CON and +2 WIS

Chompy the Dragon |

Flops immediately tired from the flurry of blows and the sudden ability to fly granted to him by the owlbear. He yawns sleepy and lays there for a bit as his blood calms.

Ser Helmut |

Ser Helmut gathers his bird-lizard. The little goblin places him in a sack with holes in it. He then walks up to the owlbear and kicks it.
Billy Bob Thornton is f%&~ed up!

Dys Thunderclaw |

Dys splashes through the river to reach the others, holding the boomstick up and whooping.
'We da bestest goblins! Mightiestest slayers of monsters!"
Dys stops for a moment to consider something. "Dys wonders if we get shinies for owrbler..."
Dys proceeds to try and cut off the head of the owlbear.
Heal for harvesting: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
