Bucko, Joboo, Reta and Velag took some time off from their adventures, but now new challenges await.
I haven't heard back from Tark, but if he wants to join in, that's fine.
That's right, gobbies. We're puttin' the band back together!
Sign in to this discussion thread, and we'll discuss your ideas for some fun adventures at 8th level.
I'm presuming you're all about halfway to 9th, so you can have gear worth 39,500 gp. If you want to change some stuff around, feel free.
Our old game can be seen here, if you want to see where things were at.

Joboo |

Stepping from the shadows with a long, green booger hanging from his finger; Joboo chuckled and replied 'Mesa been here whole time. This one takes too long to come out. Maybe is brains.'
The sly goblin wiggled his finger til he had the boooger spinning and then flung it Bucko. "Catch bub!'
So if we built on WBL before we should have 6500 gp to spend?
And a hearty welcome home my gobbo peeps!

GM Goblin King |
I'm thinking that if you want to tweak your characters, I'm fine with that.
There are lots of things added to all the spells, feats, etc. You might want to pursue something a little different, but not too different.
The Black Scorpion Assassin prestige class is available to those who qualify. It's identical to the Red Mantis Assassin PrC, but with black scorpions, and you can cast conjuration spells, but not conjuration [summoning] spells. It is, therefore, more powerful than the original PrC I ripped off.
Also, you don't need feats in any weapon proficiency. No sawtooth saber for you. Not needed.
If I were Joboo, I'd have 3 levels.

Javell DeLeon |

Rebuilding Reta in herolabs. For some reason her 8th level build is completely gone. Not sure why I erased it/copied over it/whatever I did.
Not gonna change a whole lot. But I do want to switch out one of her traits for this trait:
Reckless: You have a tendency for rash behavior, often disregarding your own safety as you move across the battlefield. You gain a +1 bonus on Acrobatics checks, and Acrobatics is always a class skill for you.
That fits her pretty well. :)

Javell DeLeon |

Is it cool to combine items and pay the associated cost?
For example: A +1 ring of protection is 2000g. A ring of sustenance is 2500g.
You pay the cost of the RoS at 2500. And to add the RoP +1 to it would cost 3000g(Which is cost x 1.5). For a total of 5500g.
Would this be okay?
No worries if not. Not entirely sure I actually wish to combine something(or even have the funds to) but just in case it is possible, I figured I'd ask and get clarification on it.

Javell DeLeon |

After looking through some items in herolabs, this is what I'll think I'll do if possible.
With my boots of striding and springing: Add Boots of the cat(1500g)
With a belt of physical perfection(Str/Dex): Add Belt of tumbling(1200g)
Nothing fancy, just useful. I like useful. :)
I'm not even 100% about the boots, but I do ponder about it.
There are some items I'm gonna be getting rid of just because they're all kind of "meh" to me.

GM Goblin King |
Cool deal GM!
Is the Black Scorpion a class you made up then? Cant find Red Mantis but Im guessing its now called Crimson Assassin.
Ill look into it, thanks.
I don't know when or why they changed it, but yeah, it's the same thing.
I did that for Klepy, but he killed his character anyway.
Note that he doesn't lose BAB in the system we're using. He gets .75 BAB for both classes.
Also note that he gets conjuration, but no summoning. Lotsa fun spells there.

Still no sign of Reta. I'll start recruiting if I don't hear from her by tomorrow.

They didn't. D20pfsrd changes the names of things which are "proprietary" to Paizo (Inner Sea World Guide still says Red Mantis)

Javell DeLeon |

Just fyi. I work during the day so I can only post at night. I'm on CST.
Your post of "Still no sign of Reta", Goblin King, was at 6:00 pm my time. I didn't get home from work until 6:30. And then I've got to get clean and eat dinner.
If this is gonna be a problem, I'll gladly step aside and you can look for another.
I must say, though, I find it a bit surprising after I posted last night that you're willing to replace me so quickly. I don't really get it. But that's neither here nor there. It's your game and if that's what you want to do then so be it. It's all good.
Let me know. I'm gonna hold off posting in the gameplay thread in case you prefer to go with someone else. No sense in me posting in there if that's what you choose to do.

GM Goblin King |
Sorry, Javell.
You are playing as Reta, and can tweak her as you like before we start.
As long as we all post every day, looks like most of the action is on after sundown.
I remember you killing A Snooty Gnome in grand and gory fashion. I welcome your comedy.
Now, let's see what you players want to do.

GM Goblin King |
Same here. These little freaks crack me up.
I think I went in a direction the party didn't really like. I'd like to just say you did your thing, got the Mcguffin, and got paid. Now you've been chilling in Kaer Maga for a while, but you get bored easily and you want something new to do.
While you're there, you can get magic items, etc., no problem.
Perhaps you want to journey back to the Mushfens. They can make Joboo an honorary Licktoad. That's about a 500 mile road trip. I'm sure you'll find lots of opportunities for mischief.
Or, you could go up into the mountains and find lots of stuff to kill there, too.

Bucko Rackingclaw |

Bucko is ready.
If Klepy wants to return I can maybe use the klepy-monculus as a material component in a resurrection ritual of some sort!
Also DM how do you feel about the Goblin skull bomb?
Goblin Skull Bomb
Aura moderate evocation; CL 6th; Weight 1 lb.
Slot none; Price 1,200 gp
DESCRIPTION
An ember glow lights the beady eyes of this blackened, burned out goblin's skull. It is very brittle and shatters if dropped on solid ground. When a goblin skull bomb breaks, the very last creature to touch it bursts into a raging magical flame, automatically suffering 5d6 points of fire damage and also catching fire should it fail a Reflex save (DC 13). If this kills the creature, its body burns away in one round, leaving behind only a pile of ash and the creature's blackened, burned-out skull, which is a new goblin skull bomb. If the target survives the fire, doesn't have a skull, or if its skull is destroyed before another creature touches it, it does not create a new goblin skull bomb.
A skull bomb can be used as a thrown weapon with a range increment of 10 feet. If the attacker hits, the skull shatters, immolating the target as described above. If the attacker misses, the skull breaks upon the floor or another nearby hard surface and the attacker bursts into flame. Touching the skull using gloves, gauntlets, or handheld items such as tools or weapons counts as touching the skull. It can be safely moved using spells (such as mage hand or telekinesis) or attacked with ranged weapons (hardness 0, 1 hp).
CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS
Craft Wondrous Item, flaming sphere; Cost 600 gp
I am thinking it is a great gift to use with
Beguiling Gift
School enchantment (compulsion) [mind-affecting]; Level bard 1, witch 1
CASTING
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, F (the object to be offered)
EFFECT
Range 5 ft.
Targets one creature
Duration 1 round
Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yes
DESCRIPTION
You offer an object to an adjacent creature, and entice it into using or consuming the proffered item. If the target fails its Will save, it immediately takes the offered object, dropping an already held object if necessary. On its next turn, it consumes or dons the object, as appropriate for the item in question. For example, an apple would be eaten, a potion consumed, a ring put on a finger, and a sword wielded in a free hand. If the target is physically unable to accept the object, the spell fails. The subject is under no obligation to continue consuming or using the item once the spell's duration has expired, although it may find a cursed item difficult to be rid of.
And/or this spell
Command
School enchantment (compulsion) [language-dependent, mind-affecting]; Level antipaladin 1, cleric/oracle 1, inquisitor 1, witch 1; Subdomain devil (evil, law) 1, toil 1, tyranny 1
CASTING
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V
EFFECT
Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)

Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yes
DESCRIPTION
You give the subject a single command, which it obeys to the best of its ability at its earliest opportunity. You may select from the following options.
Approach: On its turn, the subject moves toward you as quickly and directly as possible for 1 round. The creature may do nothing but move during its turn, and it provokes attacks of opportunity for this movement as normal.
Drop: On its turn, the subject drops whatever it is holding. It can't pick up any dropped item until its next turn.
Fall: On its turn, the subject falls to the ground and remains prone for 1 round. It may act normally while prone but takes any appropriate penalties.
Flee: On its turn, the subject moves away from you as quickly as possible for 1 round. It may do nothing but move during its turn, and it provokes attacks of opportunity for this movement as normal.
Halt: The subject stands in place for 1 round. It may not take any actions but is not considered helpless.
Notice particularly the command "drop".......and what happens to the goblin skull bomb....
"This why Bucko makes tha best plans, humans long-shanks stands no chances!"

GM Goblin King |
That's the sort of thing I missed about these little ___holes!
I'm sure you'll get a chance to do that to some poor human sometime.

Javell DeLeon |

Sounds like we'll have choices...
I'm curious to see if we hand wave having been successful with our last mission or if we failed.
Also, rereading our game play gave me many chuckles. That was some funny stuff.
Ah the funny times. :)

GM Goblin King |
It was incredibly funny. I reread pg. 64, and lol'ed quite a bit.
I laugh at most all of it. You guys are twisted. Let's use that.

GM Goblin King |
So, feeling like a little trip back to the Mushfens? Or would you prefer to go kill stuff in the mountains?

GM Goblin King |
OK. You can go through a part of the mountains on the way to the Mushfens. Very well.
You'll probably want to eat and get drunk first. That's always smart.

GM Goblin King |
OK, then. You'll go south, cross some rivers, go through a part of the Mindspin Mountains, and through the massive swamp.
Should be fun. On the morrow!

GM Goblin King |
Pg. 61.

Gutwad declares a celebration. Gutwad (along with Rukus and Slem, who he's also treating as honored guests) says to get the party started, and the Licktoads get to it.
R and S have had adventures of their own, and regard you guys as truly heroic. They knew about you killing the mobogo before they arrived here from the south.
The tribe looks a bit smaller, but a lot tougher. Some of them leveled almost as fast as you did, but not in PC classes, for the most part. Some became adepts, and while the goblin pantheon is well-represented, many have turned to the worship of the Gray Man.
Capn' Renyldz asks Z to interpret, and asks Stix if the goblin noise is going to go on all night. He and Z decide to turn in, figuring the area is pretty safe.
Gupy Wartbits is lookin' mighty fine, and Slem can barely keep her hands off Bucko. The fermented food comes out, and there are toads a- bein' licked.
It's time to party like a goblin."
The Lizard King, Cap'n Renyldz, and your own leftenants remain important allies. You haven't fooked that oop, yet.
You're leaving Kaer Maga. You're not erasing history.

GM Goblin King |
It's coming. Had to put the dog down today, so I'm a little frazzled. Tonight.

Velag Wordeater |

Ugh. That's terrible, GM King. We did one of ours about 9 months ago, and we still miss him. Take your time.
Velag will just be eating the libraries of Kaer Maga while we wait. :)

GM Goblin King |
I'm not ready to GM just yet, but soon. Maybe after the weekend.
So many new options and spells have come out since last we played, I don't mind if you want to switch some stuff around. If there are any new feats, traits, spells, etc. that you're interested in, feel free to see how you can work them into your (very impressive) builds.
I keep thinking about the time you went into a tavern and made a huge mess. That was pretty good. (p. 66)
I'd like a repeat.
You've been in Kaer Maga long enough to find another bar to work your magic on. It's a smaller one, close to where you are staying, called the Lucky Devil (someone who can read told you). It's basically a dive, but there's considerable foot traffic outside: Mostly people going to classier places.
There is a bartender and a barmaid, and 7 people drinking. 3 are at the bar, 4 others are sitting at a table, just drinking and chatting. All are "hoomids," except for a female half orc, who sits at the table.
Just go in there and be yourselves. The people will all leave, including the staff, once you get underway, but 50 gp. will make it all okay, unless you cause structural damage.
I'm not going to play the NPCs. They'll leave immediately. It's all you guys.
I'll start your journey from Kaer Maga to the Mushfens sometime on Monday. You might just leave quietly, or get chased out of town.
All I know is it'll be something.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to get drunk in a dive bar all by yourselves in Kaer Maga.

GM Goblin King |
Free for you and your leftenants. An 8th level ninja would just do that in a city as weird as this one. You can get any common goblin mount, because you've helped other gobbies.

Velag Wordeater |

Cool. I'll take a peek at Goblins to see what the usual mounts are.
I have to say, if I hadn't been made to be all super-sneaky, the new Warpriest class is pretty snazzy.

Javell DeLeon |

Heck, dude, Reta is a fighter and she's got a +19 to stealth. And that's with only 2 ranks in Stealth.
I'm not sure how serious you are about changing classes but being a goblin has it's advantages. They treat Stealth as a class skill.
Just fyi in case you're actually considering it.

GM Goblin King |
Wolves or goblin dogs. Joboo can get either. It just takes him a few rounds.
If your mount can move 50, it's all good.
