Jalel "Quip" Medin |
1d20 ⇒ 6 Jalel was oblivious of anyone stealthily moving behind him at the moment. He either didn't notice or decidedly ignored Palmor.
"I merely came to speak with you about some of the finer details of the note that you left me. But if you are too busy now I can return to speak with you later this evening."
Tall Tale Teller |
You’re right it’s evening not night so everyone isn’t in bed yet.
After getting the usual bowl of unrecognizable stew Miro tries to lift the spirits of workers.
He performs after dinner to boost their morale and if successful will mingle and try to gather some useful information.
Roll me a perform check. And then roll a diplomacy or something to help you gain knowledge.
Rose Reneva |
Rose leans forward and whispers. You should pay more attention to your surroundings.
Jalel "Quip" Medin |
Jalel gave a start at Rose's sudden appearance. "Gaah, what? Oh... Duchess." he stepped back and had nearly started throwing up a defensive spell but halted. "Yes a good idea, perhaps I should be a little more keen of my surroundings. Tell me do you always sneak up on others?"
Rose Reneva |
Occasionally. Everybody needs a hobby and my mentor ingrained it in me.
Jalel "Quip" Medin |
"Well I suppose we all have our strengths. I came to speak with Alchemist Lershoth as I was having some difficulties discerning some of his notes. What business do you share with him, or were you simply following me? For which if you were, I'm flattered."
Rose Reneva |
Rose gives a half smile, cocks her hip, and crosses her arms. Don't flatter yourself, you're not that pretty. I came to invite him to the meeting as well. As for the notes perhaps I can help, if it's the recipe for the fertilizer I am the originator.
Jalel "Quip" Medin |
Jalel blinked and looked taken aback for a moment but smoothed his features over quickly.
Well now, aren't you just full of talents, Rose.
"Why Duchess... I wasn't aware of anyone being a skilled alchemist other than Lershoth. Truly the surprises will never end. Yes, perhaps after your meeting with Lershoth and any other duties you have to do we can discuss your recipe."
Rose Reneva |
Then you weren't paying much attention. I said during the election that I'd developed it. Though Lershoth has been tinkering with it from my understanding.
Tall Tale Teller |
Miro's, performance is enough to entertain the folk, in the main cavern. And after, he manages to find out that Sam, has been acting quite strange... He goes off into the Northeast tunnel alone, saying that he is just exploring but when he comes out he looks very stressed. Folks have tried offering him help but he waves them off. Most folks don't go down that tunnel because it is a place explorers in the past have gone missing. The boss told him to stop going down there. But rumor has it that Sam, has been sneaking down there at night.
Jalel "Quip" Medin |
Is she pushing me? Testing to see what limits I have? Losing my temper now would be bad.
"... Ah yes, I suppose my mind was a little too focused at the time. But as you said, Lershoth has been tinkering with your formulae. You would certainly know the base idea but perhaps it would best to speak with him regarding this."
Rose Reneva |
If only I had the time to continue my own experiments. Anyways Lershoth, I just wanted to invite you to a meeting tomorrow, so that I can keep up with all the main areas people are working on. I'll see you there. Rose turns and walks off.
Jalel "Quip" Medin |
Jalel watched Rose go, making sure she had fully gone. She's a capable leader, has a sharp wit, skilled with alchemy, is able to move far too quietly, and likely has other skills to reveal... Dangerous. Jalel felt a tingling sensation all over his body. It was difficult to remain composed.Perhaps I'll have to begin concealing myself from now on while traveling.
perception: 1d20 ⇒ 2
So preoccupied was Jalel with his own thoughts that he didn't seem to notice anyone around him.
Polmar Finn |
Now that Jalel was done with Rose, Polmar approached and tipped his hat he didnt have at the sorceror.
"I was just thinking about heading out on a little expedition to look for herbs and medicines and things like that. Would you like to come with me. Or maybe just explain the sorts of plants you might need?"
The halfling paused and then extended his hand " I am Polmar by the way, I don't think we've formally met before."
Lershoth Sholme |
Perception to Notice Rose Earlier: 1d20 + 10 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 10 + (5) = 21 Inspiration Used 4/5 for the day remaining Not like I got anything better to be using them for at the moment. xD
Beginning to answer Jalel he notices Rose and then stands in silent amusement as she comes up behind the Sorcerer.
After watching Rose and Jalel's exchange, he calls out to Rose as she walks away "Uh, sure, I planning on the students taking a break anyways so I had no plans."
Turning back to Jalel, after Rose leaves.
"Well that was a bit curt, 'I'll see you there' she says, as if I really want to be at some meeting." The Tieflings tail twitches in annoyance.
"So anyways, it's not big deal, I really wasn't doing anything besides taking stock, I had planned on maybe gathering supplies tomorrow with the hunters tomorrow if they make it back tonight. But that was already a questionable anyways, and now that Rose wants a meeting I don't even know I would have adequate time."
As Lershoth begins to grumble about improper supplies he stops suddenly and looks at Jalel again.
"Oh right, you needed something. What can I do for your Master Gardener, you said something about the note I left you? On second thought, let's take it back to my room. I currently Lershoth points to the students have them trying to figure out how to make Rose's original recipe work with my modifications, see if they can understand the basics of what I did, or he smiles with a look of excitement come up with some ideas of their own."
With that Lershoth begins to walk back towards his room, gesturing Jalel to follow before realizing Palmer was there. Hearing the Halfling talk Lershoth turns around come back. Well isn't this a popular place today. His tail twitches again.
Lershoth interjects before Jalel can answer (or as Jalel is answering).
"If you happen to be interested in gathering herbs, I need to collect some ingredients and would have the time to go tomorrow." Lershoth seems somewhat unaware of his rudeness (or doesn't seem to care) nor that the question was for today.
Talirin |
Hmmph, and I was trying to be nice to you. You should be careful snake man, these two lesser beings could leave you quite dead in your current situation, luckily for you we have a nice streak in us.
Well Tagolan, we should be on our way...unless there is anything else you think we should do with Sersass?
My character has no idea what this creature is. If he knew they were evil he might kill the Yuanti, but otherwise would let it go since it has done nothing to them.
Korak The Boisterous |
** spoiler omitted **
Oh this made me laugh so hard I choked.
Polmar Finn |
Polmar nods appreciatively at Lersoth.
"Good good, not much use having gardeners if all they're going to do is plant food. Gotta get them to work growing herbs and roots that are actually useful so we don't have to forage them every time."
Polmar produces a small notepad and scratches in it with coal So I trust that means we'll head out bright and early. And Jalel too, of course.
Polmar waited to hear what Jalel had to say as suddenly inspiration struck and he had a great idea for increasing the population of their little settlement.
Polmar began sketching sexy undergarments that he could make for the women of their village to wear for their beaus.
I will call them Finnericks of the Underground
profession:Tailor: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Jalel "Quip" Medin |
At Polmar and subsequently Lershoth's interjection, Jalel came out of his internal reverie.
Just as he was starting to speak to the newcomer Halfling, he was cut off by Lershoth... Well he certainly lacks of any social mannerisms. But Polmar, he at least retains a modicum of respect. I suppose it couldn't hurt to be out of Rose's direct influence for a time.
He turned to the surprisingly enthusiastic Halfling. "Well met Polmar. You have a very direct way of speaking about you but I sense the sincere emergy behind it. But come, let us follow... after..." he stopped mid-sentence as the Halfling began to furiously write down his idea.
"What are you working on?"
Tagolan Xeris |
Sorry Sersass. My friend here, is a catfolk. He doesn't understand the nature of races such as ours who pride our empires, our lands, and our pride as a race. While the empires of the hobgoblins were never as large or majestic as that of the Yuan-ti, I do understand the pain of leaving your land.
We are going to go back to our own land, but I do not want to leave you. Please come with us. I plan to head back this way every few days, for hunting and scouting. If you join me, we could make sure this area stays in tact. Stays cared for by your hands, which I hate to say, cannot be done if the giants kill you to. and I would not want that to happen.
Tall Tale Teller |
Miro, you feel very tired. So you head back for the night. Sorry Miro. But I want to move on to the next day. This one has gone on a little too long.
As for Tagolan and Talirin you both realize how tired you are and make camp.
It is now the morning, of day four.
miners: 1d100 + 9 ⇒ (69) + 9 = 78
It was a great day! Add 2 BP.
You have four days of you are down to 1 FP (about 3 1/2 days of food)
Miro Goldenview |
Not sure what everybody is doing but I can help with Entertainment/Information gathering.
The next morning Miro will go and see Rose and offer his services. He will also check on the working condition of the miners to see everything is ok.
In the morning I will do what I posted before and then I will check out the tunnel!
Polmar Finn |
Polmar finishes his sketch just in time to look up and hear Jalel
"Oh just an ideas to help with our population growth....it might be a bit silly though.
He'll show the sketch to Jalel "To help our women catch the attention of their overworked Gardener beaus"
Polmar will continue as though nothing weird was said " So anyway, you were saying? You think you'll come with in the morning?"
Jalel "Quip" Medin |
The night before to Palmor
"Fascinating. I'm sure you will win many a favor with your design, when we have time for such daliances. But yes I suppose I shall accompany yiu tomorrow, but there is an important meeting we should all attend to first. I should very much like to be there before we head out. But come we should see what Lershoth has to say."
He then turned to follow the alchemist.
The next day.
Jalel arrives in the main cavern.
Talirin |
We need another day Tal But hunting through to bring back the 1 food point, with aint from our Yuan-ti friend.
Okay, I had thought we were out 3 days already and that was enough, no problem we can hunt for another day.
