Tagolan Xeris |
Ok came up with Tagolan's hunting plan. Or at lest what he is going to do.
Tagolan gathers Rose, Rodia, and Talirin, and begins to explain his plan.
Alright. I, at least, am heading out hunting for six days, heading north. It allows us to scout out the area more closely, I only went about four hundred feet into it before. They happen to have more rats than the northeast where I live.
It should help twofold. Scouting and hunting.
survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
knowledge (geography): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Rose Reneva |
Yes it will. I will go with you for at least the first day, then I'll need to return and set people to work. Rose begins keeping an eye out for good food animals for tonight's stew. Survival: 1d20 ⇒ 20 Maybe I shouldn't be hunting since I have no skill in survival, but that roll! We need rules for nat 20s
Tagolan Xeris |
Please dice gods, don't let that one good roll be our only one.
I understand. If the hunting party encounters monsters, what should we do? Press on? Perhaps cook up the monsters? Or predators? We have no idea whats causing the mass of carrion and rats in the North?
Tagolan said, claws twitching.
survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
knowledge geo: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
THREE ONES!!! what did I do to anger the dice gods?!
Talirin |
Survival 1d20 ⇒ 16
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Talirin partners with Tagolan. He begins to learn his style and discovers that they are both very quiet. Tagolan appears to be much better at tracking and finding prey, though Talirin's strength seems to be more geared towards the killing part.
You move well for a big man. Most of the people your size can't stop from tripping over their own feet. he whispers.
Rose Reneva |
Try to get away unless you're sure you can take it. We can't afford your loss right now.
Tagolan Xeris |
Alright Duchess. And thank you Talirin. You're certainly more skilled than I in taking what I find down. I'm certainly glad you're by my side should we run into anything dangerous.
Tagolan lets it go on that. Time to find some food for these people. With me and Talirin we should be able to handle most things that live in tunnels. If the half-elf stays for the full six days that could only increase our chances.
Still this tunnels are vast, and if things like kobolds have been thriving like I have theorized, we will need to keep an eye out. I'm sure they're delicious, but they are definitely deadly.
survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
knowledge geo: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Thank you dice gods!
Rose Reneva |
After awhile Rose loads up with a pack of food they've found and changes direction. I'll go ahead and take this back to the party. Be careful out here. Rose begins walking away.
Jalel "Quip" Medin |
After Rose had won the election, Jalel left the voting area and returned to his personal gardens for a time. He began examining the small plants, some fully grown now, but many of which had just recently sprouted.
Clearly she had prepared herself better than I had thought. Had it merely been Benny I had to contend with, I would currently be the leader... but no she also had to be there!
He began to grow angry, his fist slamming into the ground. He looked around and saw that one of his earliest attempts to grow something was starting to wither and die. In frustration he reached out to it, his arm growing into a long vine which wrapped itself around the plant and pulled it out from the ground and back to him.
He held it in front of him looking as his arm reverted back to normal, and his anger subsided. He let out a sigh.
But so it goes, it gives me more time to work on my other projects anyway.
He pulled out a small vial he kept on his belt pouch and gave it a swirl. Inside he could feel the liquid moving without much impediment. He smiled, it seemed the seeds had done their job. He unstoppered the vial and began to pour out a little bit of his blood onto each of the plants.
The results varied when he had tried utilizing other denizens blood before, but he had found that his blood in particular had a strong synergy when mixed with plants. They grew much faster and stronger than before.
Jalel grabbed his shovel from nearby and dug a new hole where he put a new seed. He then set the failed plant down, on top. It would eventually wither away and break down into nutrients for the nearby plants. A decent comparison to his current situation.
He wasn't Duke now, but that certainly didn't mean he couldn't eventually attain a position of power. He would bide his time for the moment.
"Yes, I think I will have to start work on the gardens for everyone's sake. First training other gardeners." he spoke to himself and the plants.
Then I'll seek others who have the spark of magic.
Day 1: Jalel will spend his day gathering those who are interested in and beginning the training of the groups gardeners. Since we're in no danger and it's just the beginning, Jalel will take 10 on both Diplomacy and Profession gardening for 21 and 16, respectively.
Rose Reneva |
Something's wrong. Rose says and calls out. Forget the hunting! Get back to the rest of the group. Rose runs back towards the partying survivors.
Tagolan Xeris |
Rodia! Rose! Protect the people! What ever it is causing you to flee, I will take care of it! Talirin are you in?!
Tagolan runs toward Rose and the people. He stops about fifty feet from the main cavern, his arms out.
And this is why a wall would be useless!
Rose Reneva |
It would not be useless, it's not perfect but not useless!
Rose Reneva |
Get over here you fool, we stand together! Everybody, get to the edge of the cavern. Rose calls out pointing to a well sheltered area. Keep calm and don't run. Walk over calmly!
Brennus Rassam |
Brennus rushes out of his workshop, carrying the armor of his ancestors in one hand, his weapons in the other.
"Tagolan! Have you seen it!?!"
Cautiously, he sets his weapons at his feet and starts to hastily don his bronze armor.
Tagolan Xeris |
Tagolan walks over to Rose, stopping twenty feet from the entrance.
Don't worry. I bet it will be delicious! he shouts.
No Brennus. Haven't seen it yet. But. Best time for a little surprise, from me and the beast! I'll take point
Rose Reneva |
We don't know yet. But we need all civilians taking shelter in a closed passage. Anybody who's seriously trained in combat either mystic or martial I need with me!
Brennus Rassam |
He wriggles into the armor and begins to tighten the straps along the sides.
Damn! Should have realized all the noise would attract something!
"Quick! You there!" Brennus points to a group of huddling people, "Get in the workshop! Stay quiet!"
Tagolan Xeris |
You sure you're ready for this bowmaker? You could let the cooks know we have a good bit of food in a few minutes. Nice, tenderized, and cut up. Tagolan laughs, waving his claws.
Good to know you are here Brennus
Rose Reneva |
I need options. Does anybody recognize what that roar could be. Rose walks towards a wall where her own stuff is setup and begins to slip armor on pulling a rapier into her right hand and tucking a dagger into her belt before grabbing some leather armor from a bag and putting it on.
S~%#, somebody get to the door and make sure it's still sealed, the last thing we need is any of the fog getting in here!
Tagolan Xeris |
So you know how everyone has been down here for fifteen years. Tagolan may be a slight bit insane.... just realized that.
Nope don't recognize it. Hope its delicious! Tagolan says, before roaring back at whatever is coming, hoping to distract it.
Bluff if necessary: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Brennus Rassam |
Brennus finishes tightening his belt over his armor as the last of the group enters the workshop. He grabs his weapons and runs over to Tagolan and Rose, slipping his sickle into the belt as he arrives.
"No, I'm not ready. Should have put the armor on this morning, now I'm running around half cocked." He tests the string tension of his longbow. "At least this is ready." Brennus slings his quiver over his shoulder, draws an arrow, and nocking it on the string.
Rose Reneva |
Rose looks at everybody making their own preparations and bolts toward the door herself.
Brennus Rassam |
Brennus glances around the cavern, then gives Tagolan a serious look, "We need to deal with this, before it finds the cavern and kills us all.
Rose Reneva |
Rose comes back, her rapier still in her hand. Nothing's wrong with the door thank the duke. Alright I need options, whatever that was it wasn't good, and the last thing we need are any surprises down here. Opinions, better to hunt it or leave it be?
Rose Reneva |
Hold it right there! Nobody goes alone and I don't trust two to handle it either. We need a full group!
Brennus Rassam |
Brennus tilts his head toward Tagolan as he speaks to Rose, "I'd rather not die in my bed," then follows after the ranger.
Rose Reneva |
Better to live because you had backup than die. We can't afford to lose anybody, so wait and we'll grab some more people before leaving. We need volunteers to join the party, we can't let that roar go un-investigated!
Talirin |
Talirin stands off to the side, unusually calm, Don't get your Goblin in a twist T. Whatever it is it will come or it will not. If you want help you have just to ask...
One of his small claws comes out as he picks a small amount of rat meat from his teeth.
Who says anything about dying...that is why we are both quiet...you fight until it doesn't make sense.
Rose Reneva |
Sounds good, if nobody's volunteered by then we'll go regardless. Rose begins to adjust the straps of her armor to change the fit of her armor to something a little less restricting.
Tagolan Xeris |
Thanks Tal. Tagolan says, looking for a rat to eat.
Ahoy, everyone. Going to be hunting what ever that was soon. Find the best cook and tell them they have the task of cooking it up when we bring it back!
Rose Reneva |
Rose puts her hand on the man's shoulder. Thank you. Now go take shelter
Talirin |
Talirin jumps in front of the group with a leap and a jump, As I mentioned before. Tagolan and I should scout ahead...I wish to live the for the most part...the rest of you are noisy. Don't take it personally, its just the truth.
Maybe Benny can join as well, you seem quite sneaky as well.
