This room is the upper gate tower, up here is the winch mechanism to raise or lower the portcullis and the drawbridge.

Six round boulders, each larger than a human sit stacked in a precariously balanced pyramid atop this flat roof. In this room there is a Hill Giant

Gallant then attacks, tearing into the flesh of the creature.

Several decrepit bunks rot in this neglected room. The tracks of numerous footprints have cleared a visible path between the room's three doors in the thick layer of dust coating the floor.

Zavier can grab, but Zavier cannot hold! the Big human grumbles as he wonders at his first true match with a giant.

My build has crazy CMB against giants, but the CMD really hasn't kept pace! very interesting.

That is alway the issue with grappling builds. Be careful some ac bonuses add to cmd which helps.


There is nothing of interest in the barracks

A massive bell fills the chamber beneath a domed roof. Four open arches provide wide views of the fort and surrounding lands. In this room is an ogrekin's body.

Keeping Gallant in front of him Sid will check the room.

The body of the ogrekin has been clawed by what looks like a wolf. It appears that the creature has crawled up here from downstairs. There is nothing else of interest in the room.

@Zavier: even if you only grapple but can't hold them, taking away their turn to hit one of us is still pretty damn handy

Kohl is correct. It will become increasingly important as we encouter more casters. I can imagin next level Sid may dim dooring you beside a giant wizard so they can't cast.

This large, open chamber has been thoroughly gutted. Where smaller rooms once divided this hall, only the remnants of former walls remain, leaving exposed joists jutting from the stone walls like branches.Inside the room are 2 more hill giants.

Oh yeah I'm pretty happy with Zavier being able to lock up one large foe. Zavier is still frustrated though!

Zavier sizes up the closer of the giants as he moves closer to it and then tries to restrain it by grabbing one of its legs.

Grapple: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18


AC 32 107/107HP

Gallant will use his attacks to trip the giant that Zavier is trying to grapple.

Sid will stand back and delay. With three melee fighters and 2 animals, he feels like they can take these two.


Zavier fails to grapple the giant, Gallant, however manages to trip one of them on the third attempt.
