I just realized OOC that Tenoch was a Dhampir. I'm not sure how psionic healing and in particular my Life Leech ability Drain Health works with that. Is all healing Positive Energy? Also is this the place to bring up rule stuff or should I PM these questions.

Tenoch Itzcoatl |

Ah, OK, I wasn't sure about how the psychic healing thing worked myself. Apart from Tenoch considering it like any regular healing, I, myself was going by one of those collective powers where the healing of one person can be transferred to the other but the energy stays the same. I definitely do not know much about psionics.
And it looks like Meredian hit the Knowledge (local) for knowing something about the Dhampir. Lucky for me it was the low roll, lol. Negative energy affinity, ahoy.

I should have thought of this earlier, but I was wondering if I could swap around some of my SLA's so they will be A) useful and B) Themantic. For example I'll never use divine favor as it doesnt affect spells. I do need some imput as to what you will allow. The suggestion says same level spells can be swapped, but it never says what list it comes from. All the spells I suggest are of the correct level on one spell list or another. Some of them are a bit of cheese, but I figure it never hurts to ask. Also I'm completely open to suggestion if there is something I havent listed.
DM, just let me know what you feel good and bad about. Believe it or not I did leave out some of the really cheesy stuff. ;-)
Divine favor (CLR 1) swap for one of the following:
Disguise self - useful for a drow
Unseen servant - useful for anyone
Comprehend languages - helps explain why he knows as much as he does
Know the enemy - Bonus to lore check for creature encountered that day. Helps explain his breadth of knowledge
Suggestion (wiz 3) Swap for one of the following: - Mer's never been good with enchantment magic. Lacking this SLA is good for consistencency.
Arcane Concordance
Aura of unremarkable -
Arcane sight
Blood biograply - good creepy fun
Absorbing touch - interesting possiblities
Beast Shape 1 - general utility
Dimension door - Very fitting for a teleport specalist
Explosive runes - As SLA's dont require no mats i'd have A LOT of these. Fair warning. ;-)
Fly -
Gaseous form
Invisiblity sphere
Invis greater
Shrink Item
Major Image
[b]Dispel Magic (wiz 3 Druid 4)
I'm happy with dispel magic, but I woud swap it for something a little more fun if it could use level 4. This is where the cheese will be, but It could make for an amusing dynamic. the spells listed for Suggestion would also be approppriate to swap here.
Beast Shape II - as B.Shape 1, but more useful.
Elemental Body I - Utility and fast getaways
Find Quarry - find anyone close
Illusionary wall - 101 uses
Infernal Healing greater - (Fast heal 4 1min/lvl) - Pretty buff self healing
Overland flight - it's still only 1hr/lvl, but has some serious usefulness
Secure Shelter - I'm a rambling man.

As I've already done the same thing with Kal, I doubt she'll have a problem with you doing it as well.
I kept the three iconic Drow SLAs, and swapped out the rest. I think you should keep Dispel Magic, as you can never have enough of that.
For Suggestion, i'd go with DDoor, unless you hve your heart set on something else.
There's gotta be a better 1st level spell for Divine Favor, than those you listed.

Meredian Adriatnaic |

Mer, yes, you can switch for a spell of equal level. I don't see anything on your list that I find game-breaking so switch it around in whatever way makes you feel happy with your character build.
Sweet. Let me think about it and get back to you.

Any thoughts?

Lyn I had forgotten that Dreamscarred is implementing 0th level powers now(instead of the knacks the vitalist had before) I can't seem to find which ones I qualify for in the 6 partial books. I'm sure it will be easy to find in the combined book but until then should I just use my knacks?

Ignot Pureflame |

It does not, thanks though. I know they were introduced in book 3 but there doesn't seem to be a list for vitalist in there. There is a handy list that shows what talents you get for free by taking 1st level powers though.
Ha I didn't look hard enough. they are in book 6 for some odd reason But they are very similar. I just switched out one of my knacks for a much more useful talent, Detect poison. The other knacks are still talents so they're staying.

Meredian Adriatnaic |

So Lyn, how are we doing this?
Should we just go ahead and do our own thing, rolling checks and such as needed, and you'll fill us in, or do you plan to direct us at all?
I've been waiting to see what happens. We're walking down the street as far as I know.

Hi lyn, I took Penumbra as a cantrip and just realized it was from the Paizo Blog as a "rare" cantrip left out of UM. There is a second level Protective Penumbra also from UM (except this one was published). The difference is that the cantrip can only be active on one person at a time (the lvl 2 can be cast multiple times without loss of previous castings) and there is a +2 to saves in the lvl 2 version.
Should I drop or keep the cantrip?

I have that cantrip too.

Meredian Adriatnaic |

Yeah, but, unfortunatly, it apparently doesn't count as part of the "All cantrips known".
Why? The word "all" seems pretty inclusive.
They way I look at it Cantrips are so simple that even if you don't know it initially you can figure it out, provided it exists at all and is on your list.

Look at the top of the page of the link.
The following spells are different from standard cantrips. They are rare cantrips. Spellcasters that gain access to all 0-level spells at 1st level do not gain access to rare cantrips. A spellcaster gains access to rare cantrips only by uncovering their secrets in some other way. Some are guarded by jealous mages, while others are lost in missing libraries or molder on forgotten scrolls.

Oh. I've never read that.
Well, I imagine this one specifically is more well known among races that are harmed by the sun and have a somewhat organized society, such as drow.Of course one could do independant research to figure even these out without access to jealous mages or moldy tombes. Rule of thumb for that is 1K per spell level and at least a week. Money well spent if it's needed.

Keep it. Your backstory involved having some Nexus magic yes? Sounds like the sort of thing they would cook up.

Yes, indeed. As long as you can come up with some reason why you know it (learned it off a wizard at the university is one example) then I'm okay with it.
