While I don't have any issue with turtling, and I don't think it will matter much to the others since there is so many of us, I will caution you in one regard:
You yourself may get annoyed by your inability to contribute much overtly in combat. I've had a few PCs played by others, both IRL and here on the boards, who built a character unable to truly participate in combat, and it wasn't too too long before the player wanted a rebuild.
So keep that in mind. Perhaps at first, for a few combats, you'll be fine in your role as will the others PCs in your unit. But it is entirely possible that eventually, you'll get sick of not being able to hit things and want to remake your character.

I play a lore oracle in my friends table-top game that is kind of a turtle (though I still move 30'). I can't hit anything really, but our DM does get annoyed at me. One of our tactics when fighting big things is me running through threatened areas to provoke all the AoOs so the squisher people can move in. The 17 AC barbarian and 21 AC Magus appreciate it when my 34 AC Oracle buffs, triggers the attacks, and they can get in unimpeded.

Cool looks like full plate stays. At least until I don't need it anymore or get sick of it. Thanks for the concern about properly participation in combat. I actually have a pretty strong damage capability that doubles as healing from my Life leech archetype. I just need to get someone in the collective with Unwilling Participant (will save 15 currently 17 next level) Then I can Drain Health for 10 damage(Another will save this time with a -2 to their save) that gets spread throughout the collective as healing. I'll also have burning hands and sound burst most of the time. I'm actually pretty excited to never have to attack. I have bad luck with attack rolls.

So Ignot is looking pretty done. I need to spend some more gold and that's about it. I also had a couple questions for Lynora.
1: Would combat casting provide a bonus on powers manifested defensively or would I need to get Combat Manifesting as well?
2:does the birthmark from the birthmark trait count as a holy symbol for channeling or just for spells? I don't currently have that trait but I was thinking about it until I realized it doesn't seem to work for channeling.
3:I Don't think there is a god that encompasses my Domains. Will this be a problem?

1.Yes. Transparency means same stuff should work for both.
2.I don't see why not. A holy symbol is a holy symbol. (I've been known to have characters use tattoos as holy symbols before. Seems to be the same idea.)
3. No. Just make sure you have a strong ideal that does encompass those domains to make some sense out of where you're getting your divine powers.

Cool I will be adding another section including backstory/faith soon. Please feel free to give me feedback on what I have so far. The life leech stuff is there for you in case you haven't seen the new Psionics Expanded stuff.
Edit:so I did another check of deities and I think I'm going to go with Calistria. She has the trickery domain and is called the unquenchable fire which gives me another connection to the fire domain besides my fire giant ancestry. I like what I've read so far and will work towards incorporating it all into a story. For now, it's bed time again.

How common are firearms in Braxys? I ask because it has an effect on class abilities and costs for ammunition creation, maintenance, etc.
If there are revolvers, it's probably pretty commonplace, but I figured I'd ask ;)
They are fairly common in Braxys. Not as common elsewhere, but they are starting to catch on in Chance so cost should not be an issue for you.

An what do people ride if horses aren't the standard mount? Do I jsut pick anyother large animal and pay the normal price?
Outside of the Warrens horses are definitely the standard. Inside the Warrens is another matter as the large goblin and kobold populations, not to mention all the other poverty-stricken residents, think that horses are food. Large riding lizards and Giant slugs are offered for sale at a similar price to horses. (Priced like a warhorse rather than a riding horse.)

Read the info, nothing on the Underdark?? Do you have an Underdark? If not where do we Drow hail from usually??
The Underdark did not receive special mention on account of being downright ubiquitous. It's everywhere. No, really. There is Underdark on all three continents (no they're not connected) and contact between the surface and the Underdark, while limited happens fairly regularly.

Lynora (should i call you Lyn?) I just finished my backstory if you'd like to take a peak. I'm not writer but I think it's decent. I didn't use and names because I'm not sure who some of the people are, or where the places are. Let me know if that story works for you and also if my character checks out. Thanks!
edit: Also added a bit of physical description. I kind of put some more backstory in that part too. Whoops!

Either is fine. :)
The crunch looks good.
The backstory mostly works. Just a couple of notes. Prostitutes are politely referred to as laundresses. They have a guild and everything. Otherwise, all of that works.
The name of the gang that he was taken by is the Orphan's Aid Society. They specialize in human trafficking, specifically of children.
If he's been in the guard for that time it would have to have been in another district, probably Docktown, since the Watch has been essentially defunct in the Warrens for the last few years. Captain Turnsdale is trying to change that. A transfer request to the Warrens watch would have been granted in a heartbeat, especially if he was known for being trouble.
lynora |
Fixed it, I have no idea why, but just changed the spoiler thing and it works fine now, still working on the background, but for some reason I can't come up with something really big and nice, just a kind of average/simple one.
Yep, works fine now. It looks all good.
Don't stress out about background too much. Simple is fine. I can help flesh it out a bit if that would make things easier.

Well added the history I got so far and included his personality into it.
And the animal companion is just the Tyrannosaur but large size and a tail attack as the "Cold One" is supposed to be, but the tail slap is a secondary attack ^^. Until level 7th will add all the other things except size change.

Trying to more fully integrate Wynnie. From the reading I would think she would be from Shaelin's Landing district originally. I'm curious as to how big the Quorum is. I'd be interested in Wynnie's father being a member.

The Quorum is quite large. Each district sends 10 representatives. I see no reason why her father can't be a member of the Quorum since I don't have all of the delegates drawn up already. And from reading her history he sounds like the sort of person who could get elected as a representative from Shaelin's Landing.

That's actually a really good history. Sounds like he would have grown up in Azora, the capital city of Sorryn. Probably doing his best to pass for human. For a person with his background to decide to seek his fortune in Chance is not that unusual. It's a separate government with separate laws and there is no discrimination against non-humans. It's also much more of a meritocracy. Given that he's trying to make something of himself, I would suggest that he joined the Watch towards that end, perhaps as a personal protege of John Turnsdale who is the younger son of a noble house who is also out to change his fortune, the difference being that he also has years of military service behind him and is attempting to put that experience to good use. Helping Captain Turnsdale reform the Warrens would certainly make his career and would put him in line for promotions in the future.

Handle Animal to Upgrade Riding to Combat Training(Dc20):1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 There goes 3 weeks
Handle Animal to Upgrade Riding to Combat Training(Dc20):1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 3 more weeks wasted
Handle Animal to Upgrade Riding to Combat Training(Dc20):1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 3 weeks
Handle Animal to Upgrade Riding to Combat Training(Dc20):1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 3 weeks
Handle Animal to Upgrade Riding to Combat Training(Dc20):1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Do I need to make the Handle Animal checks for a creature with 6 Int, or does it understand what I'm saying enough?
Avlar |
Here is what I have so far for the back story.
Avlar was found by the Company when he was a baby. The Captain decided that they could not let a baby be left alone in a war zone. Many of the men did not wish to keep the child because of how his eyes glowed like magma. The men took this as a sign that the child was evil and would bring bad luck. The Medic known as checked over the child not finding anything wrong with him other than his odd colored eyes. Finally the matter was dropped and the Company raised the child.
Avlar grew up among the band learning everything the Company could teach him about warfare. Many of the men were not the sort to be teaching a child anything about morals or life but they kept their darker nature from Avlar at the request of the Captain. Thus Avlar grew up the child of all of the Company. Finally he was old enough to go out on the field with the other of the Company. He was a very good solider because of all he had learned. The one who taught him the most was the Captain who Avlar called father.
The Company went from battlefield to battlefield, with Avlar learning at a great rate. Finally he was able to be come of the Company. He was giving the badge to prove his member ship, which was A a badge with a circle of silver surrounding a silver human skull with large canine teeth and no lower jaw. Gold and bronze "flames" come down from the mouth, the eyes are set with red garnet stones. All this is set on black onyx. Avlar was happy with his life for years, until the Captain died while defending the what was left of the Company from a mage that was attacking them. With his sacrifice the Company was able to flee from the mage. With the loss of Lieutenant in an earlier battle the Medic became the new Captain of the Company.
Many of the older members of the Company had died in the war that the Captain was lost in. The Company recruited new members which did not know about the dead Captain's wishes of keeping darker part of war be held back. Soon Avlar was disgusted with the new members of the Company, believing that they were savages that did not measure up to the old Company. Finally he went to the new Captain, to ask him to help keep the new men in line. The new Captain than explained everything to Avlar, about the old Captains wishes as well as how the men use to hold back. He than went on to explain that he could not ask the newer men to resist their urges because they do not have the respect for him as the old members did for the old Captain. After much thought Avlar decided to leave the Company. With the blessing of the new Captain he left to travel the world.

Most equipment purchased, still got 300g
Question, I can not figure out the damage a Thistle Arrow does. All I can find is "Thistle arrows deal damage as a bleed effect for 1d6 rounds."
But it doesn't say how much Bleed damage.
Also,
Unless I'm missing something in order to buy a Composite Bow that adds +1 from Str, you need to spend 150g? 75 for the base and then 75 for the +1.

RE:thistle arrow... If they are the same as in the 3.5 campaign setting they do normal damage, plus 1pt of bleed damage/rd for 1d6 rds

From the PRD:
Longbow, Composite:
Shortbow, Composite:
Short answer, yes, if we're talking about a shortbow that is exactly right.

Lyn,
Need some guidance from ya:
I'm thinking I had been arrested several times(around 3 or 4 times at least), most likely for breaking and entering or robbery, but I was able to escape each time. Finally, sick of trying to hold me, I was offered a job on the watch instead.
Does this work?
Also,
Is there any sort of Thieves' Guild I could belong to as well? Or would you rather I not?
I would also like to be occasionally employed by various peoples to procure things, either legally or illegally. Can I make this work as well?

Sure as long as it was petty crimes. You wouldn't even have to escape since it would likely have been a fine or a short sentence. Looking at a longer sentence for multiple offenses and overcrowding in the prisons you would have made an excellent candidate for serving in the watch as your sentence.
I'd rather not with the gangs and theives/assassins guilds as these are organizations that you'll be going against as a watchman. There are plenty of independent operators in the city when it comes to crime, especially on the petty crime level.
Yes, that can work. You'll have opportunities to pick up jobs on the side in The Trough, a tavern the watchmen frequent. Just remind me if it's been a while and you haven't been offered any.
