We plan on doing that. Did we search the area yet or are we done with this encounter?

If the PCs return with Amantius or Italice’s head, Remaio complains this will taint their petition to restore Honaria’s good name, but otherwise does not push the subject.
As long as Amantius survives, he insists upon making the truth about Italice’s fate known. So long as the PCs arrange for Italice’s remains to be returned to her family, the familiar is grateful to the PCs, though somewhat lost after so many years spent hopeless and imprisoned. He asks them to send him along with the remains. Before the PCs send him on his way, he insists that they take the partially charged wand of heightened awareness within his body, as it is the only means he has to repay them for their kindness. He informs the PCs that even if the Cenabri family pays for his repairs, he plans to keep his broken face to remember Italice.
Most esteemed allies,
You will be proud of me, I hope. Not only have I managed us all invitations to court, but I have also caught the ear of Princess Eutropia herself! With your evidence of Honaria’s greatness in hand, I know the princess will listen to us.
I’ve provided you with fine clothes for the evening so you won’t look too out of place, and written a lovely speech for the occasion. Don’t worry; I’ll signal you to chime in at the proper points. I’ve taken care of everything, so just focus on looking your best.
Regards,
Remaio Alcasti
In addition to his letter, Remaio sends each PC a courtier’s outfit. He meets the PCs outside the palace where Eutropia is holding court. When the PCs are ready, Remaio accompanies them inside.
Knowledge Nobility
As you approach the front steps. This ancient and grand palace is decorated with ornate arches of patterned stone. Robed greeters bow as the building’s massive iron doors swing open. Light illuminates the hall through dozens of windows in the ceiling. Shining panels of gold decorate the marble walls.
You all arrive at the court early and the official proceedings will not be starting an time soon, giving you all plenty of time to mingle with the others that are part of the court.
This is the social encounter portion of this scenario, and finally the finale of the quest. Everyone one in the court is a high society member and are expecting respect, just a friendly reminder. Most of the patrons start off indifferent towards you, and can only attempt to change the attitude once. So with that, let us begin.
You can converse with any of the following.
Princess Eutropia
GLORIANA MORILLA
DOMINICUS RELL
FATHER BASRI
INKA HELDOTOR
CAPTAIN SEFERI
SOLMON MENANDER
THEON CENABRI
Unfortunately, it does not really give me descriptions of these people.
Kyra, Flame of the Dawnflower |
Well, Gloriana we know, as the new head of the Sovereign Court faction... the rest, no so sure... though at least one has a familiar surname.
Kyra appears a little uncomfortable in the fancy part dress that Remaio provided, clearly not used to such attire. She debates with herself the wisdom of bringing a symbol of Sarenrae into the court, given the bad blood there. In the end, she decides to bring it, but keep it out of sight.
Unsure on who all the people are, she will go to talk to Theon Cenabri.
Going to assume he might be related to the lady who's remains we returned in that last bit, so seems like a decent ice breaker!
She remains respectful, giving condolences for the unfortunate circumstances of his ancestor's death at Syagra's hand, and words of peace that the woman's remains can finally rest with her family.
Not sure what our goal is here? I'll assume get them on our good side.. =)
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Hakon PBP |
Knowledge Nobility: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 - nope.
Syllyn will converse with INKA HELDOTOR.
Does the scenario come with a list of skills that may be used with each participant? Is there an opportunity for 'discovery' as well as 'influence'?
GM Z..D.. |
@Hakon, no, it is all strait diplomacy. It is not social combat, as I like to call it.
Will post more later.
Hakon PBP |
Well, then, here is Hakon's diplomacy roll...
diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
It's up to the rest of you! He's probably doing something indecent and barbaric with that roll. Feel free to smack him around a bit.
Merisiel the Pregen |
Merisiel wanders over to Solmon and strikes up a conversation.
Good evening, sir. Have you had a chance to taste this wine? Wuite delightful. I am Merisiel....delighted to meeg you....
diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Kyra, Flame of the Dawnflower |
If we only get one chance at influencing these folks, some might want to aid others if possible.
Think Hakon's work on poor Inka is a lost cause though.. Probably waving his axes around and making inappropriate passes =))
On the flip side, Merisiel seems to get more endearing as you ply her with alcohol.
Enchanter's Pregen |
Quinn steps into the room in a fancy new coat, red with dark trim. He smiles and nods to several people, trying to make it seem like he belongs. The lawman makes his way to Captain Seferi. He bows. "Captain, excellent to meet you. I hope you're finding the festivities enjoyable. Princess Eutropia does seem to know how to have a time."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (9) + 5 + (5) = 19
GM Z..D.. |
@Merisiel, "I am doing quite well, and you seem to be enjoying yourself. I am guessing you are one of the adventurers that was sent out on Remaio's goose chase. I am wondering how he funded such an expedition, after all, the money he gets is not usually the cleanest." Merisiel, you have increased his attitude to friendly. You can follow up or try to talk to someone else.
@Quinn, "Oh yes, I believe she does. If only I could get a chance to meet her. You know, I had to kind of force my way into this event. But I made it, now I just need to get her to notice me."Quinn, you also increased the captains attitude to friendly. You can either help her gain approval with the princess by DC 15 knowledge nobility or sense motive check. Or you can move on.

Jean-Pierre de Suis |
Seelah moves over to speak with Father Basri.
"It is good to see you here - tell me, are things settled down at the Basilica now?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18.
GM Z..D.. |
@ Seelah, "Like wise. I am so glad to see you all here. Yes, yes, it has finally settled down, thanks to you of course. I assume you are here for the same reason as I. Do not worry, Remaio does have my blessing for the help you all provided. [ooc]Father Barsi is helpful.
GM Z..D.. |
@Kyra, As you approach Theon, he smiles and meets you half way. "I have been looking forward to meeting with the adventurers who brought the remains home and give you a token of our appreciation." He hands you a pouch of 20 platinum pieces. "I have heard rumor of what Remaio plans to say, and I have a favor. If you could also include Italice's story, I would be very grateful." He is friendly to the party. Now you can follow up with an answer to his request or disengage and go talk to someone else.
GM Z..D.. |
@Kyra, "Oh thank you so very much."He is now helpful to the party.

Yes, you may, but can not attempt more than once for the one person.
Ansha's Pregen |
Jirelle wanders around the court, mingling and slowly working her way toward Dominicus Rell. She attempts to strike up a conversation with him, sticking primarily to small-talk and avoiding potentially controversial subjects like politics or religion. "So, I hear those co-religionists of yours are stirring up the rabble out in the Wards," she blurts out, and immediately regrets it.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Enchanter's Pregen |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Quinn nods to Captain Seferi. "Well, perhaps I could help with introductions. I'm sure she would be delighted to meet you. If I manage to get her ear, I'll bring her over to meet with you."
Jean-Pierre de Suis |
Seelah approaches Gloriana Morilla.
"Greetings. I trust you have heard of Remaio's plan to reinstate his ancestor. What are your feelings on the subject?"
Diplomacy 'Take 10' = 16.
Kyra, Flame of the Dawnflower |
Seeing Jirelle miring herself in a conversational quagmire, Kyra moves over to try to help get her out of it.
She introduces herself to Dominicus Rell, and chats him up!
Don't know if I'm allowed to make a check anymore? Not sure, will make it, ignore if not needed. Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Hakon PBP |
Hakon will try to aid the attempt to win GLORIANA MORILLA
diplo: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
GM Z..D.. |
@ Hakon and Seelah, when you approach Glorina, you recognize the familiar face of Prince Aayef Ghazali who is talking to Glorina in reference to joining the Sovereign Court.
Glorina answers Seelah, "I really do not have an opinion on the matter, I am just here to aid the Princess any way I can. Maybe you could help her as well, apparently Solman Manander has some suggestive letters on him about the princess's political maneuvers that we do not want to fall into the wrong hands. So what say you" She is already friendly due to Prince Aayef's influence. So you can attempt to get the letters form Solman with a diplo or sleight of hand check or leave it alone.
@Quinn, you suceesfully are able to help the Captain on how to present herself to the princess. He is now helpful towards you.
@Jirelle and Kyra, "I see you all are making quite the impression on the Noble court. I am Dominicus Rell, the top advisor to Grand Prince Stavian III. I am actually quite interested in the history you have uncovered. At this point he is unfriendly still, you can attempt to adjust it by a knowledge history check or give him a piece of history that you uncovered

Quinn comes over to speak to Dominicus Rell. "Sir, a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Now, during our travels, we saw some very interesting tidbits from Honoria's time...." He continues on to note a few historical markers from the tombs and her sword.
Knowledge, History (inspiration): 1d20 + 7 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 7 + (1) = 10
Well, that didn't work like we planned...
Hakon PBP |
How about a knowledge Nobility to get some information on the princess?
Know Nobility: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
GM Z..D.. |
@Hakon, you get the same information from the above knowledge nobility.
@Quinn, "Ah very interesting. Very interesting indeed. You all have been busy lately." You have improved Dominicus to indifferent
@Seelah, you can either try to steal the letters. Or talk him into giving them over.
Jean-Pierre de Suis |
Seelah approaches Solman.
"Whilst I agree that having leverage can be useful, ruining it with a bout of grandstanding in such a public venue would be a waste. It would be much better to use it for gain in a private setting. Perhaps you could arrange a private audience, to orchestrate a mutually beneficial trade...?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21.
Enchanter's Pregen |
"We have. And the history of Remaio's is quite extensive. Did you know about the tombs to safeguard relics?"
Knowledge, History: 1d20 + 7 + 1d6 ⇒ (8) + 7 + (3) = 18
GM Z..D.. |
@Seelah, "Of course, please deliver these to whomever you see fit."

As Princess Eutropia calls court to session, she has a surprise in store. After allowing Remaio to make a flowery preamble and confirming with Remaio that the PCs retrieved most of the proof, she asks the PCs to present it instead of Remaio.
This will require a Diplomacy, Perform (oratory), or Profession (barrister) check. Many modifiers are going to take place before the rolls are made. Everyone can make a roll, I will take the highest and the rest will be counted as aids.
Kyra, Flame of the Dawnflower |
Kyra makes sure to mention Italice's demise, at the hands of the vengeful Syagra Tetranella, as promised.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Ouch!
Unfortunately, her annoyances at the Taldan's tendencies to live in the past and hold on to petty grudges slips through, and her words sound more bitter then hopeful.
Hakon PBP |
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
It seems that telling a story is much more his thing than schmoozing with the upper class. The waving axes actually help!
Jean-Pierre de Suis |
Seelah attempts a rousing tale of Remaio's ancestor's exploits, which mark her out as a true hero, and loyal soldier of the Empire.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14.
Enchanter's Pregen |
Quinn shows the audience the papers from Vereena’s home. "These documents show Honaria's leadership skill. She was an amazing tactician, but constantly was undermined by a lack of proper resources!"
Diplomacy (inspiration): 1d20 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (10) + 5 + (1) = 16
GM Z..D.. |
After the final person finishes up, Princess Eutropia calls for silence once again in the halls.
"Very well, let it be known, that the Aclasti name be reinstated has a noble name."
She cuts a glance down at Remaio, "Remaio, I have heard of your financial troubles in the past. Pathfinder's do you believe that he should represent his family name and allowed to hold a title of nobility?"
Jean-Pierre de Suis |
Seelah frowns for a moment, then responds.
"To the best of my knowledge, this is the first we have heard of financial difficulties, or any other personal problems for the Alcasti heir; is there something that we should know? We were, after all, quite focused on restoring the good name of an honorable woman, who had been unfairly besmirched a long time ago."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18.
Enchanter's Pregen |
Quinn nods. "Whatever his motivations may be, Remaio has been dogged in his pursuit of his family's history. If he is willing to honor that history and share both the good and bad with it, then it seems quite the noble endeavor. Most noble houses have both dark and honorable moments. Accepting both sides and pressing forward for the future is part of the burden. I believe Remaio is ready for that."
Hakon PBP |
Hakon has nothing to add and had no opinion. He is utterly convinced by the other Pathfiner's though.
GM Z..D.. |
"Very well. Remaio, you are a honor to your name and I give you the title of Baron."
Conclusion
So long as the PCs backed Remaio’s bid, he proves true to his word, granting the PCs their pick of his family heirlooms and proving a valuable contact among the nobility.
Congratulations-Chronicles will be posted in discussion
