Did she? I may have missed it. I'll look back and check.

Good idea. I'll keep you moving until something interesting happens.

Moving to the next room (the one to the northwest). Two doors enter this vaulted chamber, one to the north and another to the southwest. Frescoes of cyclopes are etched in the polished walls to the southeast where a natural stone tunnel leads deeper into the mountain. Proceeding north, you pass into an open-air rotunda capped by a small dome that overlooks the valley and ruined streets here, connecting to a short rectangular hall where exits lead north, south, and east. A collection of clay tablets, each marked with strange runes, lies neatly stacked in the northeast corner of the hall.

Dantes takes a cursory look at the tablets, which are written in the pictographic language of the cyclopes. They seem to be reports of some sort, but he estimates that it would take several hours to go through them in their entirety.

An investigation of the room to the north reveals nothing of interest, so you backtrack to the rotunda and proceed up the staircase to the north. The staircase goes up 25 feet to a terrace, which offers a commanding view of the ruined streets and buildings below. Several statues gaze outward from its wall. To the northeast and southeast, a giant cavern opens into the mountainside where two tunnels lie choked with rubble. The statues depict ugly humanoids with bows aimed outward into the valley. Suddenly, they begin to move!

One of them targets Faengrim with its bow, loosing two arrows in rapid succession at the mate! Its aim is particularly sharp (Deadly Aim), but the first mate is quicker and avoids both arrows!

Rogar, Dantes, and Faemgrim are up! The gargoyles are currently about 15 feet above the floor.

Dantes steps up and casts fly on Faengrim, who attempts to deomralize them, which leaves the gargoyles shaken (-2 on attacks, saves, and skill/attribute checks) for 3 rounds. The two blinded cargoyles remain on their perches, but the rest take flight, shooting arrows at Dantes, Rogar, and Faengrim. Rogar takes 12 points of damage, Dantes takes 13 points of damage, and Faengrim takes 23 points of damage.

Sorry, got distracted with cleaning and reorganizing and didn't realize how much time had passed between posts.

Riori calls upon divine power to heal her companions (everyone gets 15 hit points back). Chumtooth hurls his harpoon again, striking #4 twice in rapid succession. The gargoyle growls an unintelligible reply. Gargoyle #2 launches two arrows at the pirate captain, but only the first shot hits. Chumtooth takes 24 points of damage!

Dantes and Rogar are up, and I have Faengrim's action!

Rogar catches gargoyle 2 in the chest, but the creature ignores the toxins that coat the bolt. Gargoyle 5, however, is still succumbing to the effects of its troubles. Dantes slams another with a volley of magic missiles, but the gargoyle somehow stays aloft, despite looking very haggard. Faengrim launches a renewed round of attacks against his foe, leaving it battered and looking very much like it is ready to drop!

Gargoyle 4 shoots at Dantes in retaliation for being hit by the magic missiles. One arrow finds its mark, inflicting 10 points of damage! Gargoyle 5 continues to flutter about helplessly. Gargoyle 6 fires at Rogar again, and misses twice more. Gargoyle 3 fights for its very existence against Faengrim. The first mate is clawed twice for a total of 11 points.

Rogar aims for #6, but fumbles the shot, and the bolt goes far afield. Dantes blasts #2 with another barrage of magic missiles.
