Adowyn - Iconic Hunter |

”Leryn, unbelievable! What is going on here?! What if we were not perceptive??!“ Adowyn asks and shrugs.
Same procedure as before.

GM Abraham |

Honestly, even reading the module, it's hard to know why the author bothered with all of these secret doors...
This large room is dark and silent. Unlike the other rooms you have been in, there is no luminescent moss here to provide light. Do you have a light source?
This large stone chamber contains two clusters of four stone caskets each. In the center of the room, between the two groupings, stands an empty, unlit iron brazier that is covered with soot and smells faintly of past fires. Drapes of dust-covered spider webs cling to the ceiling.
Map updated. Go ahead and put yourselves in the room.
Fyi, I'll be out playing tabletop PFS much of the day and likely won't be able to update again until tomorrow.

"What an interesting design. I question the effectiveness though..." Altovin says as the group finds secret door after secret door.
When they enter the dark room he shudders at what he sees wondering if all the skeletons were raised already.
"Hopefully they have all been vanquished...I will be right behind you either way Dasus." he adds trying to sound brave and placing his hand on the paladins back. Casting Guidance on Dasus.

Romulus stalks behind the rest, muttering...
I swear, dungeons are worse than fortresses on campaign... some captain gets it in his head that a 100 switch backs will make it more easy to defend when it just gets his own soldiers turned around.
He lights his own floating Ioun torch as they continue forward.

GM Abraham |

When the Pathfinders approach the caskets, a chill breeze arises from nowhere with an eerie howl. The room seems to darken, and in the sudden gloom, scores of small spectral eyeballs appear, drifting with the breeze. They peer intensely before fading away.

![]() |

Romulus blinks a few times.
Anybody else just see that? Or did I get whammied? Cause I just saw some floating eyeballs.

![]() |

Romulus gives a grin and then focuses again.
I am charming, but that was no charm spell my dear Heccuba... something is a foot. Stay sharp.

GM Abraham |

Heccuba thinks it's very possible that this was some sort of illusion magic, perhaps created to dissuade tomb robbers.

![]() |

That pitiful display of magic was probably meant to dissuade the simple minded from traversing further. she comments

Adowyn - Iconic Hunter |

”Thank you for this information as I believed that another ghost is going to attack us!“ she says with relief in her voice.

Not frightened per se, it takes Dasus a moment to realize that no enemy is about to appear. When he does, he laughs as well, and steps towards the next door. "Unless someone has found another secret door?"
Grinning, he steps forward to open it. Not even thinking to wait for trap checks.

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Altovin peers around Dasus at the door making sure it isn't rigged.
"Careful, something made those ghosts...maybe he has mundane tricks up his sleeve too." he quickly and quietly interrupts as Dasus heads to the door.

GM Abraham |

The pathfinders open the door and see that the floor of this small hallway is partially blocked by heaps of stone rubble Dark squares on the map - treat as difficult terrain. A skeletal human hand protrudes from one pile of rubble. The debris looks old, and the few sagging strands of web draped over the rubble seem to have been here for some time.
It appears that the debris fell from the ceiling above, where something violent blasted away solid stone to create a cavity. In the center of the cavity, about 15 feet above the floor, a 5-foot-diameter irregular hole or shaft rises up into the darkness.
There are doors to the east and south.

Adowyn - Iconic Hunter |

"Leryn, move in please and check if there are any threats! I am behind you!" Adowyn says.
She tries to listen for any noise behind the doors.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

![]() |

Romulus looks up the hole.
I don't remember that upstairs... Anyone fancy climbing up there and seeing where it goes? No takers?

![]() |

"A bit high for me too, hah...and probably more of those spiders in there knowing my luck!" Altorin tries to joke.

GM Abraham |

When Adowyn listens at the southern door, she hears a faint, intermittent clinking sound, as if two small pieces of metal are striking each other softly.
When she listens at the eastern door, she hears faint moans and plaintive sobbing.

![]() |

Okay, quick question before I post, now that I have noticed that compass in the corner. Since Dasus is standing by the Eastern door, can he hear that sobbing?

GM Abraham |

Give me a perception check

![]() |

Perception: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 3
Dasus — whether due to his clinking armour or just plain bad ears — hears nothing, so brings up his axe into a ready position again as he takes a step to stand behind Adowyn.

![]() |

"Is there something wrong with the doors?" Altovin says as the others move closer. He checks for any traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

GM Abraham |

Adowyn opens the southern door as quietly as she can.
Map updated
The walls and ceiling of this room are hidden behind a thick, gray-white forest of spider webs that blocks all vision beyond ten feet. Webs are everywhere, creating a maze of vertical sheets. Gray, furry dust clings to the sticky, white webs. The desiccated, shriveled corpse of a long-dead man hangs spread-eagled across one of these layers of webbing, and rusty swords, daggers, and axes hang securely from others.
The clinking sound Adowyn heard earlier is no longer heard.

Adowyn - Iconic Hunter |

”These webs are awful!! Let me see if the dead is ... really dead!!!“
Adowyn shoots two arrows with her composite longbow at the corpse.
longbow, pbs, rapid shot: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 1 - 2 = 10 , longbow damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
longbow, pbs, rapid shot: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 - 2 = 6 , longbow damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

![]() |

"S-spiders...Let's get rid of these webs quickly?" chatters Altovin behind Dasus drawing his morningstar.

GM Abraham |

Dasus Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
As Dasus steps into the room, he becomes entangled in the spider webs filling the doorway. Dasus, you have the entangled condition.

Adowyn - Iconic Hunter |

Adowyn steps in and tries to help Dasus to get rid of the webs.
”Awful, lets get rid of this!!“
Reflex to not be entangled : 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Strength for webs. : 1d20 ⇒ 2

GM Abraham |

Adowyn's effort to pull Dasus out of the webbing is completely ineffective, giving the strong impression that even a much stronger effort probably won't help. (i.e. this doesn't seem like a hazard that can be resolved with a pure strength check - there are just too many of the webs - and they way they are arranged it seems like pushing and pulling at them could easily just further entangle you. But there might be other ways to get rid of the webbing...).
Peering from the doorway, the rest of the group can see that much of the room appears to be choked with webs. If you enter any square on the map that shows predominately webbing (i.e. most of the squares in the room) you need to make a Reflex save, once for every square entered.

![]() |

Dasus growls, struggling against the grip of the webs. He can still move, at least, just not very well. "Maybe we should try the other door?" he asks, only half joking.

Adowyn - Iconic Hunter |

Adowyn nods. She begins to use her dagger to cut him free!
Is that automatic to cut the webbing?
”Lets get out and burn the webbing first!“
Reflex to get out again : 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

GM Abraham |

It is automatic to hit the webbing but you'll need to roll damage. Each square of webbing has a certain number of hit points. Also, you don't need to roll a Reflex because you are not in a square with webbing. Right now, the only one who is in the webbing (and who is also entangled) is Dasus.
