What a bunch of lemmings, lol. This is truly a ridiculous image.

DC for knotted rope would be 5, but that leaves 70 feet to fall, not 50. The DC for unknotted rope is 15, and most of you'd be falling a mite sooner anyway. Let's take a look:

After the rope is knotted at regular intervals, Quinn finds something to tie it around. Omrax takes point and lowers himself down the first few knots into the seemingly bottomless shaft. He slips almost immediately into the darkness, which consumes him with a solid crunch after an agonizing span of seconds. 14 damage with boots of the cat, healed by Sareth's channel.

Mrachni hopes that Iomedae can give him better success than his fellow and slowly lowers himself into position. The first twenty feet go just fine, then he enters the cavern proper. The total lack of walls is... unnerving. He holds on for another twenty feet before losing his grip. Damage: 11d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 2, 4, 6, 6, 1, 3, 2, 4, 5) = 40

Sareth tries next, cursing himself for not planning ahead. He makes it to the lip of the cavern and, shuddering in the total blackness, misses the next knot. Damage: 13d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 3, 1, 6, 2, 2, 5, 5, 2, 4, 4) = 48

Quinn follows and manages to keep a steady pace--and doesn't look down. Reaching the end of the rope, he lowers himself as far as possible before jumping. Damage: 5d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 5, 2, 1) = 18 Healed by Sareth's channel.

Skybek stays up top and drinks. Could still use fly if you want. If not, I need climb checks and then at least 7d6 falling damage.

The chamber that the party fallen into, amid the loud crack of shattering bones, is truly massive, spanning hundreds of feet in all directions. It sports the same smooth white rock as seen previously, its walls, floor, and roof molded into flowing curves and fantastical shapes. The crystalline structure within the rock catches light sources and reflects them back a hundredfold. Revealed in this illumination at the far end of the massive cavern is a jagged scar of darkness--a rift in the cavern wall and ceiling sealed by a tumble of dark rock. At the base of this collapsed area can be seen toppled walls and broken columns.

After the sounds of falling, clattering armor and healing, Omrax dusts himself off and looks around.

assuming another light source already active otherwise pulls out his wayfinder .

"Thou hath our thanks, Sir Sareth. Is everyone able to coninue?."

He draws his longsword and looks for any exit to the chamber.

I'm a bit confused. Those 5d20 that I rolled were for the last 50 feet, after the rope ran out. Taking 10 has me covered for the knotted rope... so why 11d6?

Kingmaker Tactical | Strategic | The Marchlands | Campaign Tracking | Liberation Points: 4

There is no wall. There's a 20 foot shaft that pierces the roof of the enormous cavern. Just empty space for the last 130 feet.

If you took 10 on the rope (which Mrachni didn't specify; Sareth did but also rolled checks) then it's 70 feet of falling.

Skybek: it'd be at least 40 feet with the knotted rope (70 less 30), but with the damage you've rolled already the rest would still be healed by Sareth.

The only point of interest, beyond the wondrously shaped cavern walls, is the scar of rubble to the east. The party heads there.

At first these broken ruins appear to be little more than a pile of rubble tumbled down from above. However, on closer examination an opening is visible on one side of it, and many of the walls within the ruin still appear to be intact. It slowly dawns on the Pathfinders that these must be the fabled Halls of Zuberi, sunken deep beneath the earth, partially intact.

Entering the strange structure is to enter a surreal world. Solid pieces of masonry are tumbled with jagged stones and collapsed walls, as though parts of the fortress fell haphazardly along with more solid pieces. To make matters worse, strange pits are carved at irregular intervals. The first such pit makes no trouble, only five feet wide, but the second at ten...

Next mundane hurdle! The brown squares are 20-foot deep pits. Can anyone besides Quinn clear a 10 foot pit with a Take 10?

Beyond the pit, the road divides. One path leads east, the other north.

Still have a few heroisms if a +2 will help anyone. Sorry, Mrachni...

    Actually...

Quinn moves to Mrachni, seeing his look of concern. "My friend, with a magical cocktail we can get you a little more nimble. Little bit of cat's grace, I promise no whiskers, and some heroism to help with nerves. And maybe taking your shield off, it should be little issue."

"Hmph," grunts Mrachni in appraisal of the vulpine offer, "well. If there are no whiskers, then there is no excuse to reject your gift." Inclining his head slightly in a formal nod, the orc smiles slightly. "My thanks."

"By the Inheritor, what I would do for a ladder this day!"

Edit: Kept good armor on per Sareth's post below. I was originally thinking we'd only get +4. +12 is even better!

"Let me know when everyone is ready, and I can call down a blessing from Iomedae to enhance our speed for a short time. With the run, we can better clear the pits opposing us."

Unless talked out of it, he will cast blessing of fervor on each member. That should grant an extra +12 on each person's jump score.

With two 10' pits, he will take a run and jump for both.

Trex, Skybek has 90 feet of dimensional door hopping per day. I used 30 feet to shorten that last fall. I used some to get to the top of that cliff earlier. Do you anticipate that Skybek will have enough left to negotiate all of the pits?

"Aye, this place seems tae be one o' the worst places tae send Pathfinders on a mission. We've been dealin with rock beastie, rock walls, and the absence of a rock floor. Ahh dannae want tae complain, but this is the pits!

Quinn hops over ahead of the group and keeps to the southern wall, creeping and peeking around the corner by the smaller pit before hopping over that one, too.

Omrax will hop over the first two pits and follow Quinn to make sure nothing jumps out from the southern passage.

    "All clear, Sir Quinn?

If all appears empty, he will continue north over the remaining pits.

Omrax's blessing turns out to be fortuitous, as Quinn is suddenly swarmed with a gang of ugly humanoid creatures swarming over the walls at the party, rattling their bone necklaces and tribal trappings in anger.

Morlocks. Used to cramped spaces, a pair can occupy the same square and count as flanking while they do.

Notes: I'll say 8 rounds of BoF are left. Additionally, I'm not going to color code these guys. You'll see why. Just tell me roughly which one you're aiming at. Or don't. I don't much care.

Round I -- bold may act!
