I did. I'll get a response to it tonight. I needed to think on things.
I'm going to take Common (Imperial), and Elvish in addition to the regular common everyone speaks.
i might be able to put Dain 2.0 together tonight - but probably not if I have to do it by hand. Any suggestions for a good character gen app?
I use HeroLab. It's great, but it ain't cheap. People have reported a lot of satisfaction with Pathbuilder, but its only for Android and I have an iPhone.

Scott, have you seen this Oracle feat? Flavor-wise, it seems to be made for Dain, but i don't know how useful it would be. Also, it requires the GM to do the work so if you have any thoughts, let me know.
I have no problem with that feat, but I don't think you'll get much mileage out of it in this campaign. This was written before there were haunts in the system.

Pathbuilder is pretty good. Unfortunately, with the homebrew Mystery, I ended up having to do most of it by hand. I still need to look at spells and equipment, but this is what I have so far:
Dain 2.0:
Dain:
Human (Half-Elf) Oracle 7 (Streets of Ptolus Mystery)
Alignment: CG
Background: Street Urchin
Str 12 Dex 14 Con 14 Int 12 Wis 12 Cha 18
Fortitude (T): +11, Reflex (T): +11, Will (M) +15
HP: 85
Perception (E): +13, Initiative Bonus: +2
Low Light Vision

Sorry folks. I'm having a pretty crazy week. I have a project due Saturday, and until that's done my posting will continue to be sporadic. Bot Dain as needed.
I realize Investigator is a new class to likely all of us, but I thought I'd ask the group/GM its thoughts:
Is Iltimar a worthwhile subject of Tilver's Pursue a Lead ability? Seems like it, but it also seems like it could be a more short-term thing, like his jacket or any footprints nearby. If I chose Iltimar, would that be a wider range of things the bonus could apply to? The way I read it, anything Tilver considers connected to his disappearance (location, kidnapper, what he was doing in the area prior, clothing, etc) could have the +1 bonus applied to it. I'm uncertain whether it's better for it to be a bigger subject or a more tactical one, since it can be changed every 10 minutes.
The way I see it is that you need to focus on clues, not on ultimate goals. So "Who killed Mr. Boddy" isn't a lead, but the fact that you found a bloody candlestick in the drawing room is.
I think you could follow the clue you have (the jacket) and see what develops from there.
By the way, it would screw up the narrative to do it -right now-, but you could do the same with, say, Nicalon and the Hand.

I am back. Dain's profile now is updated with his 2.0 self - including spells and equipment. The 2nd edition divine spell list is severely lacking in buff spells, so I had to take him in a rather different direction (he still will be able to serve as the group's primary healer). I'm curious to see if he will be effective in his new form.
Man, Investigators have lots of fiddly bits. There's a lot around rolling your Stratagem dice and then getting new inputs to decide the rest of your turn. Very thematic, but somewhat awkward at the table.

Finally made it back in. Dang. Between busy at work, and a bad time of year for me. Not being able to log in didn't help.
Folks, I'm overwhelmed preparing for a major jury trial this week. I probably won't be able to give this game any attention until the middle of next week. My apologies.

I had a short conversation with CariMac, who plays Isabel. She's slammed at work for the next several weeks, so while we'll be happy to see her we shouldn't expect her to post for awhile.
I'm hoping you, the players, will jump in and give orders for Isabel until her player returns.
I looked at everyone's character sheets today to see whether we were on target for the level. I ignored anything priced in coppers and entered the rest into a spreadsheet.
Here's what I found:
Expected wealth at 7th level: 720 gp
Expected wealth at 8th level: 1100 gp
Dain: 724 gp
Isabel: 877 gp
Silas: 597 gp
Tilver: 534 gp
Tung: 474 gp
I don't know where your list of party gear is, but you also picked up some new stuff from the hag that I'm not counting in (that ring that grants a wish would throw off this whole calculation:
Combined total wealth: 3204 gp
Average divided by five players: 641.2 gp.
So I'll need to make sure that you encounter (5x1100)-3204=2296 gp worth of gear before you hit 8th level. I don't know, one ring of wish oughta do it, don't you think?
The fam an I are moving this weekend. Posting will be sporadic until later next week.
Tung can change his dagger to a rapier as it suits him and is pretty dexterous. He also can crawl faster than most so being prone isn't that bad for him.

I'm back. Thanks for being patient with me. I'll get the thread read, and a post up shortly.
We have an Investigator, Barbarian, Rogue, Oracle, and Sorcerer. Most of us have translated our characters from 1e, so there could be some oddities in the builds. Keep in mind the urban adventure flavor in the city of Ptolus too.
