[spoiler=Background] Silas Silvermane was born into a migrating tribe far to the north of Ptolus. Strange events happened around him that seemed to indicate that he had retained the power of his ancestors gained from the Silver King. Silas' distant relative was a draconic child of the patriarch of House Dragon.

Shortly before he was became an adult a group from house Dallimothan arrived. They came with an invitation that Silas should join the family and come to Ptolus as the blood of the ancient wyrm flowed through him. Although this did not make everyone in the clan happy Silas consented and traveled to Ptolus to find out more about his ancestor and the family that was now bringing him in.
