Dejik
At Nilus's suggestion, Dejik moves up as close to the wall of fire as she can without getting burned and gets ready to channel.
GM SpiderBeard
Ronan can't drop the walls, but they don't last very long.
Dejik rushes up, and counts down her thirty seconds before the first wall vanishes. Finally, the last wall drops.

If the vampires are still visible in gaseous form, Dejik will channel to harm.

Dejik and Nilus spot what looks like a patch of fog hanging back in one of the cells, step forward, and blast out holy energy. There is a loud shriek within the dungeon as the gaseous vampires are instantly annihilated!
End of Combat
Once more, silence reigns in the dungeon. Twin doors lead both north, and south from the jail.
Sarkast
Sarkast watches as the two paladins call on their goddesses to end the vampires' miserable existence. Once they say everything is clear, he resumes inspecting the cells and the doors.
You know the drill ;-) Take 10 to to check for traps, secret doors, and other hidden things.
GM SpiderBeard
Back at ac omputer. Finally.
Ayesha searches the entire jail area for valuables, and turns up nothing. However, she does find a secret door, near where they first entered in the far west.
The group make their way to the north doors, and open them to reveal a huge interrogation chamber.
Two large prison cells flank this large interrogation chamber. The entryway to each cell is lined with multiple layers of arcane sigils scribed into the floor, lintels, and even the barred door. While the symbols around the western cell door glow with red light, those to the east do not and its prison door hangs open.
In the eastern cell, there is a curious feeling. First off, the cell has been decorated by hundreds and hundreds of butterfly wings, scratched into the walls with some sort of tool, or claw. While in the cell, the strange whispers which had been slowly eating at your minds immediately cease and a feeling of peace fills all of you.
As you look through the chamber you feel an overwhelming sense of deja vu. As a child, when you were lost in the Worldwound, a strange follower of Desna lead you to safety. Since that point, your amazing luck and agility have blessed you. You are certain that stranger spent time in this cell.
Sarkast
As he enters the eastern cell, Sarkast marvels at the butterflies scratched into the wall. A strange look comes over his face, and he drops to his knees. He whispers quietly to himself, possibly in prayer, as he touches the elk medallion on his bracelet.
Ayesha Jalal
Sarkast, I've found something over here. Come and look at this and tell me what you think. Sarkast?" Ayesha mvoed quickly from where she had been searching the walls to see Sarkast apparently in rapt communion on the floor of one of the cells.
In a quieter voice, she said "Sarkast. Friend, is everything okay?"
GM SpiderBeard
As Sarkast is overcome, the group also look to the western cell. A strange, powerful aura seems to emanate from it. Investigation almost immediately reveals it to be a kind of antimagic field, as all magical items immediately go silent before 'waking up' after removed from the field.
Sarkast
Sarkast looks up at Ayesha, a small tear in his eye. "When I was young, just learning the ways of scouting, I became lost too deep into the Worldwound. A woman saved me, one who I believe was an avatar of the Goddess, if not the Goddess herself. I feel her presence here in this cell, as if she spent time here. I cannot imagine what could have held her here, but her presence has made this room holy even amidst the evil."
He stands and composes himself, adding, "Thank you for your concern. I am quite well."
Nilus Romani
Wasn't the succubus held down here? Nilus asks
GM SpiderBeard
Ayesha gives the prison a very thorough once-over. It appears to her trained eye that the runes surrounding the front of each cell power an anti-magic field, but the east cell's wards appear to have failed. Nothing else of interest is found.
GM SpiderBeard
Slow week - poke poke? Beyond dialogue (which of course you can always enjoy), further actions are to explore the double doors south of the jail cell, or the secret door to the west.
Dejik
Wasn't the succubus held down here? Nilus asks
Are you suggesting that this succubus might worship Desna? If that's true, Nilus, than I promise to listen to Shelyn's teaching that any being can be redeemed.
Dejik studies Sarkast carefully. I'm afraid Sarkast will be too distracted for a while yet to be much use on the secret doors--shall we check the other doors while he gets his wits together?
If we're waiting on Sarkast to do something, it will be a few more days.
GM SpiderBeard
I'll push things along and have you guys head southwards. Sarkast will be on autopilot.
Sarkast inspects the secret door but does not find any traps or locks. It does appear that this door is quite regularly used. However, the group decides to go southwards. As the group leaves the northern cells the whispering begins again, causing incredible distraction and mental discomfort.
The group amasses at the double doors, and takes a moment to listen. Sarkast reports that he hears the sounds of clanging and jostling, like something mechanical is being worked on.
Group is now at the southern double doors, hearing the sounds of movement from beyond the doors.
GM SpiderBeard
Sarkast doesn't figure out anything new from the door, and stepping back, he throws the door open to allow Nilus entry.
The doors reveal a stairwell, which leads to what appears to be a toture chamber. This dank hall contains a restraining table and various implements of torture. The sharp tang of fresh blood hangs heavily in the air.
Within, working on repairing some of the equipment are three babaus. As the door opens, they immediately notice the party and roar a challenge, grabbing their longspears!

Spiderbeard, how steep are the steps? In particular, is it possible to 5' step on them? If so, Sarkast and Ayesha can take turns doing "attack/step back, step up/attack". If not, I'll need a different plan.
Sarkast
Cool. Ayesha, what I have in mind is I move past you to attack, then next round I attack and back up behind Nilus so you can then step up and attack. After that, reverse the order so we both get full attacks in as long as we hold the line.
Sarkast waits while Nilus and Ayesha step up to form a line. He then ducks between them to jab at one of the demons.
Move up and single attack. Because he moved more than 10', he gets sneak attack (skirmisher). As far as I know, there are no buffs/bonuses currently in effect.
Attack, +1 dagger: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 Damage, magic: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 Sneak Attack: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 4, 4) = 16
Unlikely, but if the attack hits, target is unable to makes attacks of opportunity for 1 round. In addition, target is Disoriented (-2 attack, -4 vs Sarkast) for 1 round.

Ronan--can Jinxx stop that one from summoning?
If not, Dejik will try to come up with something--either attempt a spell or just try to shoot it. That should be a last resort, though...
GM SpiderBeard
Nilus steps in, sweeping down Nilus and blasting through a parry attempt by a babau. The weapons cores brutally, and acid sprays onto the ground.
Sarkast also moves in, and the babau quickly uses its reach, slashing out at the rogue. However, Sarkast is unbelievably quick, and spins inwards. Unfortunately, his blow is turned aside by the babau.

Hoping to stop the babaus from summoning more demons, Dejik draws on her new power to eliminate all sound from the room.
Using her last mythic point to cast Silence using inspired spell. Since it's cast on the center of the room, spell resistance doesn't apply. The babau in front of Sarkast is not in the area of effect (because she wanted to make sure the casting babau couldn't 5 foot step out of the area).
Silence lasts 10 rounds or until Dejik dismisses it.
GM SpiderBeard
I think Jinxx only gets one attack there.
Jinxx's weirdly long neck reaches out, snapping at a babau and scoring a hit. Acid sears on his flesh, but Dejik's spell prevents any major damage. Dejik's spell flashes out, and suddenly silence reigns as the room goes deathly still, depsite the frenetic combat. The babau's summoning spell fails, and it lets out a silent shriek of anger.
