The rubble counts as difficult terrain where most of the square is obscured. So the group is not in difficult terrain right now, but the far east wall of the new room is.

Nilus makes his way to the north doors. Jestak speaks up as he approaches them.

"Cattle-men, guards."

Expecting them to be locked, he finds that the doors swing open easily enough, revealing a second court. A ruinous field of debris covers the southeast corner of this large courtroom. Columns support the thirty-foot ceiling overhead.

As the doors open, three enormous, winged minotaurs are revealed, obviously having heard the ruckus from the south. They roar their challenge as the group arrives!

Whoops. Was wrong on the SR; it was hidden. Every one has passed to date, but keep rolling it. SR 17. Assume Ronan popped his haste at the beginning of the round so it hits everyone.

Ronan casts haste on the party.

Sarkast rushes in, zipping behind a minotaur and slamming his tagger into its upper thigh.

Jestak swears and remains in the passageway, looking for a weapon.

The minotaurs retaliate. The first roars, twisting as it tries to slam Sarkast with its greataxe. The axe crashes heavily into the ground repeatedly as the nimble rogue twists and dodges around it.

Jinxx soars across the room into the minotaur whose huge axe misses. He latches onto its chest, and clamps down viciously on its neck. The minotaur roars and thrashes as he tries to rip off the eidolon, but Jinxx has lockjaw, and the minotaur collapses to its knees, and then to the floor.

Triangle is dead! Everyone except for Jinxx has actions.

When minotaur collapses under Jinxx's attack, Sarkast immediately darts around the room, putting the next one between himself and the eidolon.

Activate Daredevil Boots, move action to get into place (no penalty to Acrobatics roll because the move was less than half speed), attack. Using Skirmishing, attack automatically gets sneak attack because Sarkast moved 10 feet.

Spitting and cursing in a dark tongue, Ayesha bring a newfound power into play. She had been studying it as part of her magus training, though she never really expected to use it. The life-draining spell was dark, though not exactly evil. Still, needs must.

I'm going to move Ayesha to plain since square died very badly at Nilus' hands.

Milus sweeps out his glaive, cleaving straight through the knee of the minotaur before slamming the point of the weapon down into its jaw. Ayesha then rushes northwards, and flanking with Sarkast, decimates the blinded minotaur. A lone arrow of Dejik's soars in, plops into its eyesocket, and the final minotaur collapses. The fight is over in seconds.

Jestak walks in, mouth agape. She looks at Irabeth, and then back to the group.

"I choose wisely. Crusaders stronger than demon lords say."

She looks around the room, and then begins rapidly speaking in Kellid, gesturing to each exact and paying special attention to the double doors to the west.

Dejik tends to Nilus's wound before they continue.

That gets Nilus to full health; Dejik is still carrying 5 hp damage.

Brimoraks? Dejik shudders as she remembers the groups last encounter with a groups of fire demons... Let us know when we're getting close. I think I can protect us from them this time.

When we're close to the brimoraks, Dejik will cast communal Resist Fire at CL 8.

I think we should find Joran first. If he is cooperating with the demons against his will, he might be able to help us.

Plus, if Lord Staunton gets wind we are here, he might decide to go ahead and kill Joran right away. Dejik gives Nilus a respectful nod. And it would be a tragedy to lose someone who might actively want to be redeemed.

Nilus hands the large sword over to Jestak and then he barges in through the door.

Nope, sword was taken after the fight with the vrock.

With a hard boot the twin doors fly open, revealing a war room. An array of maps depicting the WOrldwound and its border nations adorn the walls.

Seated at the table to the north is a middle-aged dwarf with a braided black beard and fierce eyes, presumably Joran Vhane. Four babaus stand in the room, watching the door, snarling. The dwarf starts as the door bangs open and Nilus gives his battle cry. The babaus all grin evilly and attack!

The dwarf cries out as he tries to get to his feet. "Irabeth, I heard the battles. Droskar has not given me my answers yet but I must fight. Leave Drezen while you ca-- wait, Jestak?!"

Jestak snarls.

"I join crusaders. They mighty and win fight. I no die for Staunton's lost plans."

Yeah. She has a long history with Staunton and Joran.

Taking advantage of their being slightly unprepared, Irabeth charges forward with Jestak towards the babau. The babau easily parried Irabeth's attack, but Jestak's newly aligned weapon slams into her babau, wounding it terribly. She ignores the acid that splashes on her.

Irabeth Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Jestak Attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27 Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 2) + 7 = 14

Joran quickly starts weaving a spell in the back, and then flings a finger out at Nilus. The world begins to grow dark as a white film crawls over Nilus' eyes!

Sarkast moves in swiftly past the babaus to Joran. "The demons have lost. Join us, and you can live."

He slams his dagger into the babau next to Joran.

Combat expertise. Not sure if Nilus' banner is in effect; if so, add +1 attack and damage.
Attack, +1 returning dagger: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25 Damage, magic: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Sneak Attack: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 2, 6) = 18

If sneak attack hits, target is unable to makes attacks of opportunity for 1 round. In addition, target is Disoriented (-2 attack, -4 vs Sarkast) for 1 round.

AC is 27/19/19 from Combat Expertise.

Sarkast and Jinxx both rush in, viciously attacking the babau. The acid splashes on them, but is usless against Dejik's spell.

The babau counterattack. Sarkast immediately finds himself penned in by long spears as they start stabbing. However he grabs one spear as it comes in, and swings it down at an angle, blocking the other attack.

Realizing that Jestek has no protection, Dejik moves behind her and calls on the power of good to help her. Casting Mythic Protection from Evil on Jestek: +4 AC, +4 resistance to saves, additional protection against mind control by evil creatures.

Irabeth's wound begins to heal as Dejik absorbs the damage. Irabeth heals 5, Dejik takes 5. (Jestek is the only one not currently life-linked with Dejik.)

Nilus swings mightily but misses just as mightily as he trips. Dejik quickly grants Jestak a boon, receiving an absent grunt of appreciation from the crazed barbarian.

Ronan raises his hands, casting haste on the party.

Stumbling backwards away from Sarkast, Joran quickly casts a spell, and he winks out of existence.

Ayesha, Jinxx, and Sarkast are up!
