You know, descriptions.."

First, a couple of notes: 1) Arturo spends the round convincing the goblins to stay put... making a request usually takes 1+ rounds, but I'll let it be good with the surprise round. 2) You can see doors, but they are closed -- if you look carefully on the map, you can see the stairs to the towers. I've put arrows down pointing to them. 3) You usually don't want to be going around with a loaded crossbow. a) There is nothing to hold the quarrel in the bow. b) Keeping the bow at tension will ruin the bow. c) You don't want to have the trigger bumped and shoot yourself in the back. Since you could see the towers from a distance, though, I'll allow that Poochie could have drawn and loaded it.

Roudi moves up past the goblins, drawin his mighty boomstick. Einhardt runs forward under the direction of Vox, but doesn't know how she's going to get into the door. Ophiuchus fires his crossbow at a goblin looking over the edge, but his bolt bounces off the crenelations.

The (male) goblins on the towers fire their bows at the charging wolf.

Talking out the crank, the nagaji looks at the unfamiliar crossbow. "Hmm, I guess I put the crank in that hole, and turn it this way. Opps. Not that way. It should fit easily the woman said. Just slide it in, then pump. Ok, maybe it goes in over here. My that is a tight fit. I should really grease that for next time. A little lube will make it easier. Ok, now I pull here." The crossbow give a groan as the string tightens, and begins to draw back. The nagaji grunts in exertion as he has the crossbow wedged between him and the pebbled ground beneath him.

"So which end of the bolt goes in here? I guess the pointy end last. Seems backwards, but oh well."

As the nagaji fits the bolt in, the goblins snicker watching him fumble his way through.

Once securely reload, the Nagji shouts in triumph. "YES! I DID IT!!"

Roudi takes a shot, but his typically reliable musket flares, smokes, but there is no "kaboom". He had six goblins staring with mouths wide open, but they give out a collective sigh, followed by a pout, when the gnome's hand cannon fails.

Arturo finds that the doors are not locked, but Arturo tries to open the door, noticing that it is barred from within. Note: You may usually only ready a standard action. But, because Arturo goes before her, she'll just move in on her turn, and ready an attack if a goblin comes near. Fair enough?

If able to charge the goblin at the top of the tower:

attack, charge(lucerne hammer, PA): 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 2 = 22
damage(lucerne hammer, PA): 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Vox has -2 AC for 1 round, AC now = 14

If unable to charge the goblin at the top of the tower:

Double Move, Vox is now standing on top of the tower

Vox, you cannot have your weapon, drawn

spider climb wrote:
The affected creature must have its hands free to climb in this manner

I also forgot Vox needed a climb check to stay on the wall, since he was damaged while climbing.

Vox climb: 1d20 + 8 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 8 + 7 = 34
Easily held on.

Vox moves up to the top.
(Does he gateau on the side, or move over the top?)

Whoops, thanks for catching that! Vox will move on top of the tower, so that hopefully he will be harder to push off to his death.

What does Roudantaimi do with his musket? Did he drop it, or is he carrying it?
Helmethead drops his bow, and pulls out a shortsword to stab Vox with.
short sword HH: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
But he misses, badly.

The two on western tower disappear from view...

Can I climb the ladder with my scimitar out? It's one-handed and I have a ladder available...

If Arturo can climb armed:

Arturo climbs up the ladder (moving at half speed) and takes a swipe at the goblin.

Climbing at half speed is at -5, Arturo has a +6 so it's an automatic success with a DC 0 climb check, such as with a ladder.

Scimitar slice: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Scimitar damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

If Arturo cannot climb armed:

Arturo shakes the ladder in an attempt to throw the goblin off.

Arturo CMB of some kind: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Arturo shakes the ladder violently... given its goblin construction, it does transmit a good deal of its movement to the female goblin trying to hold on.

Climb check to stay on ladder DC15*: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (18) - 2 = 16 Remarkably, even though she is shaken free, she arrests her fall after 10 feet. (she's now 25' above ground.

concentration DC21: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

She does fail to maintain concentration on her Sleep spell, however.

* Using the 10+climb DC as ladders are probably easier to stay on than a wall, so the slope version, but adding the+5 from acrobatics. Making some of this up, as there really are no rules for what we're trying to do.

Assuming that Roudi is still carrying his musket in one hand
The frostfur goblins mull around a little, but don't make any moves.

Huh. The thought may or may not have crossed my mind, and may or may not have been the reason I was asking :D

There is no ladder on the outside of the tower, and the door is locked. You would have to batter down the door to get through (or pick the lock).

Jaender gets ready to charge toward the towers, then suddenly realizes he should stay back to keep an eye on the captives, just in case. So instead he pulls out his crossbow, and loads a bolt, confident his companions can handle the remaining blue skins. He did soften them up a bit, after all...

mve to draw, move to load light crossbow.

The shaman swears at Arturo for spoiling her spell, and then works her way down so that she is 15' from the ground. At this point, she calls out to Zarongel, creating a cone of fire from her hands, which engulfs Einhardt and Arturo.

Arturo: Ref: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Einhardt: Ref: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
fire damage: 3d4 ⇒ (1, 2, 1) = 4

Arturo completely avoids the feeble flames, but Einhardt is still burned a little, filling the tower with the aroma of burnt hair.

Arturo moves up the ladder towards the vicious caster, scimitar in hand. (I've updated Arturo's profile to include being both denied his dex bonus and his buckler's AC bonus)

Climbing as per difficult terrain, should be able to get within reach of her from base of ladder (15ft movement).

Arturo lines up a vicious strike at her tender areas, being most readily available soft spot from his angle beneath her.

Scimitar vs Goblin of Zarongel: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Damage, sneak attack: 1d6 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (6) + 4 + (5, 1) = 16 -- She is denied her dex bonus, so I'm assuming I can sneak attack.

The nimble swashbuckler tries to dodge aside for the inevitable flow of blood.

Acrobatics to avoid blood (cinematic only): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30 --> Wasted that roll!

The blood splashes to the ground below as Arturo effortlessly swings out of the way. Lucky! Last thing I want is that all over me.
