Enrik goes down when Vox smashes him with his Lucern Hammer. Einhardt continues to attack, making sure the Ulfen warrior is dead.
Combat over - everyone else surrenders -- however, Ophiuchus can cast a CLW on Arturo, and Roudi will get both of the goblins before it is too late.
Conclusion to follow...
GM Silbeg |
I am assuming that you all accept the surrender of everyone now that Enrik is quite dead.
The cleric of Gorum, herself a rather comely Ulfen woman, steps back, and casts a spell at Arturo. Instantly, his wounds stop bleeding. "I hope that this shows that I am no longer a threat to you. The roguish looking fellow fought valiently... I was sorry to see him fall so soon."
The cleric continues, "Pathfinders, it was not our choice to attack... we were following the orders of Enrik. The three of us are very new to the Blackravens. In fact, Enrik was boasting that he would defy Freyr Darkwine's orders to give you aid, and ensure that the goblin captives made it to Trollheim safely.
"He was condemning you all for protecting foul beasts such as those. I believe that Enrik was also relatively new to the Blackravens, he had mentioned something about his family being killed by winter wolves, and would go on and on about family members throughout the past that had been killed in goblin raids. Obviously he had a chip on his shoulder.
"Now, before you ask any additional questions, would you like me to draw upon the power of Gorum to heal you all?"
Arturo the Swift |
"Gorum can keep his healing," spits Arturo as he slowly raises his battered body and moves towards the closer of Ophiuchus and Roudantaimi, "I doubt Gorum would even grant you his healing. If you do not have the strength of will to speak out and fight back when you know the person commanding you is wrong, especially when you outnumber him, then you are cowards. May Gorum reject you upon reaching the afterlife."
Wow, you were supposed to cheer up after getting off the streets, Arturo. I guess you'll have to work on that when we get back to Absalom and the chill leaves your bones.
"My companions, well done as always," Arturo forces a smile, "Too bad I wasn't there to see your victory. Now, let's escort these goblins back the way we came while that bîtch has a good long read of her holy texts."
_Ophiuchus_ |
Addressing the cleric, "Your choice in leaders is misplaced. Enlightenment comes from those that think on their own. You don't see ducks blindly following other ducks. They think for themselves, strike out on their own. There is much to learn from ducks." Ophiuchus points to his tabard.
"Be thankful that you are getting off easy this time. In the future, you will not be so fortunate."
Ophiuchus moves towards Arturo, "Mr. Hairlips. I think that you are taking too many risks. Best let the strong man that sings and I have a shot at these evils creatures before you run forward, thrusting your pointy thing at anything that moves."
Ophiuchus casts whatever spells Arturo needs, and heals the goblins.
"Come goblins, there is food at the end of this journey, and other things that you should not eat that you will."
Jaender the Black |
Jaender looks relieved when Arturo stands back up. He doesn't pay much attention to the banter back and forth, just glad that the fight is over and all the little goblin buggers have survived.
When Arturo mentions going south for the winter, however, he perks up.
"Best idea I have heard yet!"
Gathering his things, and properly stripping the surrendered combatants, Jaender moves with the group to finish the final leg of this exhausting journey.
Strong Brute |
The large man nods at Ophiuchus' assessment. He turns to address the cleric. "Yes. You have sought and found forgiveness this day. Choose wisely next time, for not all are as kind-hearted as my friends."
He nods at the consensus that going south is indeed the best plan of action.
Roudantaimi |
"You are forgiven, madam. Even the best of us can be mislead. Your offer to heal us is kind, but I think you upset Artie by beating him up so bad, so it looks like he doesn't want your healing. But it is all right, I can use Shelyn's healing and we will be all right. By the way, as I see you are indeed blessed by Lady Shelyn, so if you ever get bored of hitting people with greatsword, and rather give them flowers, the Eternal Rose will welcome you to her service. "
The idea of return to south gets the gnome's support as well. "Yes, back to Absalom! I wonder how Tahmatassu has fared during my absence... Do you think it has missed me? "
GM Silbeg |
"Sir Gnome... it is getting late, and the lodge is warm, and we have dinner ready." the cleric says. "I do apologize to you, and your companions... especially... 'Artie' is it? The three of us are young, and newly initiated into the organization. I am sure that you can understand that sometimes it is hard to break with your leadership at such an early stage. But I have learned this lesson well, I should hope. In any case, you should stay the night. The goblins are... as welcome... to share our lodge as you are. I should expect that you'll want us to accompany you to see Freyr Darkwine... so that we can confess our failures to him?"
Arturo the Swift |
"Fine," says Arturo grumpily, covering himself in his furs, "So long as you have food and a roaring fire, we should be able to keep these goblins out of trouble. You needn't ask for my forgiveness either, lady cleric. You need to pray for that."
That's it, Arturo you fool... flirt with goblins and half-orcs, but attractive human clerics? Best to alienate those. You fücking poser.
Jaender the Black |
"I think what poochie and artie are both trying to say is, give this man a drink and something to eat, keep him warm with the fire, and later he will show you how a duck prays for forgiveness. Or is it show you how to duck? Or how praying is ducking? I don't know anymore actually. I do know of a keleshite ninja who calls it flanking though.. or maybe he actually means flank during a fight? Whoa... I am suddenly confused... I better go lie down... "

When the Slayers report the actions of Enrik Ironjaw, senior commanders of the Blackravens accept their account as likely true, and not their fault. They’re unhappy nevertheless, and unless the Slayers have further business in Trollheim it is suggested they be on their way.
Because party took at least one of the Blackravens prisoner, they’re granted an audience with the organization’s head, who just happens to be Freyr Darkwine. He listens to what the PCs have to say, but with apparent disinterest.
He makes no bones about how this favor to the Society is going to cost him, as he clearly expected too much of his embattled people. Nevertheless, he promises to see the prisoners brought to justice and duly punished, but wonders aloud if the lives of “good” men were really worth goblin secrets.
