Jinath tries to strike the cat-sized beetle in front of him but misses and sees that the beetle is about to jump forward. Although Jinath sees that the attack could also miss he is surprised to see an arrow hitting the beetle and throwing it off balance so its attack misses him completely.

Nyloth is not so lucky as the beetle in front of him wants to protect its eggs and viciously bites into is leg and rips out part of the flesh.

(Confirmed crit->11 damage/Nyloth, 4 damage/Beetle A)

(Nyloth it is your turn in the surprise round. After that all others can take their action in round 1 - first post is the first action happening in game)

Very upset that these creatures would attack her blind companion, and bolstered by Hadega's words, Inga shoots another arrow at the beetle she already wounded, before moving to the side, to open room for others to move around in.

Just for clarification: You can all post your actions as you all will have an action before the beetle. But we will first see the results of a particular round through to the end before the results of the next round can take effect. That means in this case now that Nyloths suprise round action will take effect before the action of the others. Hadega was the first to post in round 1 so her action is first and she inspires courage which means that you will all profit from it in round 1. Was that clear? ;-)

The elves mourn their dead deeply, and if Korvosa can returns Abysiel’s body to his extended family it can only strengthen their commitment to our cause and prove to Cheliax that we are an asset although we are not a colony anymore! Should you find his body, recover it and bring it immediately to the Chelish embassy and send regards from Queen Domina.

And if this elven artifact you uncover is, in fact, Izryen’s hourglass, ensure that its background is adequately vague. Our illustrious House Thrune may have played a hand in providing it to the Tangle’s mastermind several centuries ago, and any evidence that links Cheliax to it, however tenuous, would be embarrassing."

If you have seen the letter and rolled kn(history) DC 15:

Queen Domina of Korvosa (ruled 4667–4686 AR) was a monarch of the Varisian city-state of Korvosa.

Domina came from the Chelaxian line of the Arabasti family. She was a worshipper of the Malebranche Malacoda and brought with her a closer connection to the new diabolism that was now so prevalent in Cheliax. Queen Domina greatly improved trade relations with places like Egorian, and many prominent Chelish trading houses opened branches in Korvosa during this period. Queen Domina used the money raised by this new prosperity to build; she erected many famous Korvosan buildings like the Pantheon of Many, the Temple of Asmodeus, Domina's Wall, and, away from the city, Citadel Vraid, which brought the Hellknight Order of the Nail to Varisia in 4682 AR.

Queen Domina's reign is now looked back on by most residents of Korvosa as a golden age not since repeated.

---

Infernal Cheliax remains, without a doubt, one of the most powerful nations on Golarion and it continues to maintain naval control over the profitable Inner Sea. Nevertheless, as important as the nation may be at the current time, it pales in comparison to its former Imperial glories. Today, in the eyes of most external observers in other parts of the Inner Sea, Cheliax suffers from extreme diabolism and a tyranny which prevent it from truly achieving its full potential. Internal observers, including the new nobility of Cheliax, firmly believe that Asmodeus and Hell serve Cheliax and assist in maintaining the power necessary for Cheliax to assume its rightful role among the leading nations of the Inner Sea.

Since the Thrune Ascendancy of 4640 AR, Cheliax has been ruled by House Thrune along with a new configuration of noble houses made up of those willing to follow the philosophy of Diabolism. Much of the power of House Thrune was gained through the initial bargain struck between Abrogail Thrune and the rulers of Hell although rumors abound that additional pacts have been made since that time in the quest for still greater power. Currently Queen Abrogail II rules Cheliax.

EDIT: @Hadega: Do you share this information?

You all continue walking and the natural caverns suddenly give way to worked stone and metal fixtures. Dangling glass balls flicker and cast a weak, greenish glow across the chamber. Ahead, a series of greentiled, wide, terraced stairs slope up to an imposing bronze door, partly torn from its hinges. The stairs bear hundreds of symbols that seem to warp and flicker.

The reek of decay, along with a pungent, acidic smell fills the chamber. Heaps of bones and garbage are scattered about the room. On both sides of the bronze doors, numerous small idols sit in niches and nooks. Their clumsy design clearly contrasts the delicate swoops and strokes of the walls and door.

Sorry for the extra post. I figured this would be easier to follow in two separate posts than editing my previous one.

Seeing the state of the 'Tangle's entrance leaves Hadega breathless. For a moment, her face screws up in a potent scowl, then she remembers company is about and relaxes her cheek muscles enough, into the correct configuration of acceptable decorum.

"This is unconscionable! To think Elven ruins like this be heaped upon by whatever claims it to eat on, to die on it. Abhorrent!"

The hint of a scowl still on her face, she whispers ancient magic into her hands and a magical flame blooms outward from her palms. She flicks her long fingers and the light maneuvers into the room so the party can get a better view.

Hadega casts dancing lights and controls the flame into the center of the room. This is assuming there is no light source already within this area. If that is the case, she will simply follow behind the others.

SO the description I presented to you is the room you are about to enter. You already see the bones and smell this unwelcoming location. You are still in the tunnel going from area 1A to 1B (see updated map)

You are just about to exit the small tunnel when you hear a monstrous shriek. And Jinath sees a being with a club in mid-air as it is jumping from the high ceiling to hit him. Skin pale as a slug’s belly, eyes huge and bulging, but its shape is hideously humanoid.

MORLOCK

Morlock - CR 2

CE Medium monstrous humanoid
Init +8; Senses darkvision 120 ft., scent; Perception +2

Expert Climber (Ex)
A morlock can cling to cave walls and even ceilings as long as the surface has hand- and footholds. In effect, a morlock is treated as constantly being under a nonmagical version of the spell spider climb, save that it cannot cling to smooth surfaces. This ability doubles the normal +8 racial bonus to Climb checks normally afforded creatures with a climb speed to a +16 racial bonus.

Leap Attack (Ex)
As a standard action, a morlock may make a single attack during a jump. It can make this attack at any point along the course of the leap—the start, the end, or while in mid-air. While jumping, a morlock does not provoke attacks of opportunity for leaving a threatened square.

After the battle you all see the room with greasy remains. Around 20 small bone and basalt idols crowd the floor around the doors. Though crude, they are nonetheless not worthless to an academic or collector you would believe.

Animal carcasses and insect carapaces litter the area.

Knowledge (nature) or Heal check DC 15:

You verify that some of the remains are humanoid, many having been slaughtered within the past month.

GM Perception rolls:

Nyloth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Hadega: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Inga: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Jinath: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Lucious: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Meux: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Hadega and Nyloth find a masterwork rapier and dagger set made from alchemical silver near one of the sacrificed humanoid bodies. They also find a wand.

Spellcraft with detect magic DC 20:

Wand of water breathing with 2 charges remaining.

When you look deeper beyond the constructed gates you are sure that they lead into the deepest part of the maze complex that makes up the bulk of Delirium’s Tangle.

Ha, thank you very much! Never got the chance to play a bard before.

"You," Hadega says, jabbing a finger toward Lucious, "Are quite right! If his posture was up, chin high, he would've seen such a creature."

She claps her hands. "Well done everyone. Now remember, chin high, back straight. We can instill decorum in everything we do. We are Pathfinders, not stable hands!"

In the room Hadega surveys the scene. She says, not deigning to sift through the corpses, "It seems as though the morlock has been doing its horrid work for some time. Some of these are recent. No sign of a minotaur though."

Her eyes keen even in her old age, she picks up the rapier. Intending to show off the decorum she speaks so highly of she shows it to the others. "Would that I had a fine instrument as this! May I please take this?"

For Lucious:
The longer you are standing in the entrance of the Delirium's tangle the more do you feel the the evil aura that emanates from this maze. It somehow reminds you of the influence of hell mixed with something you cannot really understand. A certain curiosity is starting to draw you to the maze.

For Inga:
The longer you are standing in the entrance of the Delirium's tangle the more do you feel the evil aura that emanates from this maze. It reminds you of all the good hearts that turn bitter and take the wrong path to darkness ... never to reach the light again.

For Meux:
The longer you are standing in the entrance of the Delirium's tangle the more do you feel the insanity that emanates from this maze. It reminds you of all the elemental energies that build the core of the multiverse but are sometimes corrupted to give birth to a never seen madness.

For Jinath:
The longer you are standing in the entrance of the Delirium's tangle the more do you feel the insanity that emanates from this maze. It reminds you of all the primal urges that you have witnessed with the animalistic energies living in the spirit world that only want live based on instinct and not based on thought.

For Nyloth:
The longer you are standing in the entrance of the Delirium's tangle the more do you feel the insanity that emanates from this maze. It reminds you of all the ghostly spirits that you have witnessed in the world beyond that only want to pierce the minds of mortals to leave behind madness and emptiness.

For Hadega:
The longer you are standing in the entrance of the Delirium's tangle the more do you feel the the evil aura that emanates from this maze. It somehow reminds you of the influence of hell that has spread through the Chelish society to bring order but at the same time corruption and a certain ... insanity.

"This is truly an Evil place," whispers Inga. "We must not take a wrong turn, neither here, no in life, for that may be the path to darkness... never to reach the light again." Inga shakes her head: "No, no, no... Erastil can always save us. We must not imagine being without light ever again".

Hadega wrinkles her nose at the mercurial feelings coming from the maze's entrance. Who would've thought I would be here, staring at such a sight in my old age?

She looks over at Inga and places a hand on her shoulder, and for a brief moment, the stern visage drops away as she gives the halfling a reassuring, grandmotherly squeeze. "Not to worry, dear. We will find a way through."

"Jinath!" she says then, and the strict demeanor returns. "If you would be so kind to lead us on. Remember, chin up, eyes alert, and stride with an air of authority! Nyloth can take over when you get tired. Let us go and find this 'Minotaur Prince' and solve an ancient mystery in the process. Onward!"

mmmh there is a dark power inside.... curious

”nonsense, Inga. The light cannot exist without the dark. The illusion that they are separate and not two parts to the whole is a fallacy, wouldn’t you agree?” he says absentmindedly as he stares at the entrance.
