Seventeen has no visible reaction beyond an intensity to her gaze which hints to an inner dialogue, 'What a strange statement, magic let's us transcend the usual boundaries of the natural. Surely it is logical to use such gifts? How would the natural be more reliable anyway, people are ever bemoaning the works of nature? Maybe he meant something in particular? Ah! Some venoms are natural, maybe he really is a poisoner... I must be careful.'

Seven and Omo head to Khonnir's home while the other three head to Mort's brother.

Garrit Burrwaddle waves rather lackadaisically to the three as they enter the Junkyard. He murmurs We have guests now Mort? Will they be staying for dinner?

Seven and Omo get to the Foundry Tavern and they notice that no one is in the Tavern itself so they begin to head to the back when they hear a bloodcurdling scream!

The eagle might have a hard time getting into a building and moving around....

Seven summons a ?celestial? eagle and then moves into the building, she sees This creature which looks to her like some mad wizard's construct. The thing is in bad condition though,it is 5 feet tall and made of a gray and white metal-like polymer. Its three spiderlike legs allow it to navigate over broken terrain and rubble with ease. Its torso and arms and head are vaguely humanoid, with one
blazing "eye" in the center of its head and a four-fingered hand on each arm. Bits and pieces of its chassis are missing, exposing the delicate circuitry within, and it makes loud and tortured grinding noises as it moves.

And this one makes FIRE! he presses down on a button and a tiny flame shoots out But this one...oooh this one...this one! he grabs the final device which is about 6 inches long with two prongs on the end It makes PAIN! and he jabs 1d3 ⇒ 1 Mort in the thigh and ignites the device which causes a small electric jolt to Mort! 1 point of lethal electric damage

They each have 4 charges remaining. Your character doesn't know this but I want you to keep track of the charges so I don't have to. The flashlight uses 1 charge per 8 hours, the lighter 1 charge per use, the zipstick one charge per use. Also, you don't know what they are called so make up your own names.

The celestial eagle has a pretty pathetic land speed of 10', perhaps it was a mistake to summon that. Never mind I don't really like retcons so lets run as is.

In a deadpan Seventeen states, "Omo there's a 97.5% probability that scream was Val! We need to defeat that mechanoid before it demolishes the house."

Seventeen directs the eagle to attack. I assume it's on the outside for now from your description.

Omo hurls his flask of liquid and it melts the face of the constructed creature! At the same time Seven's bolt catches it in its mechanical heart killing it. Or at least ending its existence.

Val comes bounding out after the creature goes still. Oh Omo it was horrible. It just came alive after sitting there for days! she sobs I thought it was going to kill me! It was making an awful noise and it started banging on the wall.

I'd assume so, since Seventeen has been living in torch for some years under Baine's roof.

Councilor Baine is one of the few individuals Seventeen respects. While she believes she had a father, in reality Konnir Baine was the closest thing she would ever have to a father.

Seventeen pauses a moment, blinks and purses her lips as if considering and replies, "Yes Val, I need to ask his opinion on several matters and without him Torch may not survive. I will find him, it is the only logical thing to do."

Earlier Seventeen had a sudden thought, I can't go swimming with my spell book! Or can I... I think onee shop in town was selling waterproof bags.

This leather sack sealed with tar or pitch keeps delicate items from being ruined by water. Items kept inside remain relatively dry, making the bag ideal for carrying maps, scrolls, spellbooks, and the like, although the bag is not impervious and can only be completely immersed for 10 rounds before enough water seeps in to ruin such items.

Before diving into the water, Seventeen strips down to her underware and puts everything in her waterproof bag. She's completely oblivious to the effect this may have on her companions. Without looking at them, she casts a light spell on her bag (of course, she's always had excellent night vision, but there's others to think about), turns briefly to her companions and tells them, "Its just cold toxic water, what are you waiting for?"

Without waiting for an answer, she jumps in.

Mort feels his chest beating heavily as he come sout of the water, he takes a quick moment to catch his breath than looks to the ground and then up to the beetles.

"Oh. We've got company."

I'm first in Initiative, so I saw a chance to use the ability, if I was any later I wouldn't have used it as the difficulty would be too high. Now to see what kind of beetles they are and if they can be friendly or not. Also as a reminder, we're now underground right? My AC is 20 so long as we are.

Keep in mind guys that I do use initiative and NOT posting order for that very reason, so Mort does indeed go first!

Mort calms the beetles, distracting them with his presence.

If I figured this correct, they began as unfriendly. The DC is 20+CHA mod which is -2. So the DC to move them to indiff was 18. You made DC 20 so they moved to indifferent. I'll rule that this will last 10 mins/level until they get hungry again and want to eat you.
