Giant Spider attacks Duncan critically biting the Monk for 12 Duncan suffers from the poison but resists its worst effects.
Andrei heals himself for 15.
Bugbear both attack Andrei 2d20 ⇒ (17, 7) = 24 +4 one of the bugbears hits Andrei for 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (2, 4) + 2 = 8

Grunting in pain from the bite, and feeling a burn as the venom attempted to enter his bloodstream, Duncan strikes back at the remaining spider with all his might.

Using 1 Ki for flurry of blows again

With the drow dead, Lyle quickly casts another shatter spell, singing the same appallingly high note!

hitting the bugbears, DC 14 con for half damage.

Morgran takes a look at the other spider, and with a few whispered words a column of flames appears above the spider, surprising it greatly, reaching for the floor.

Drawing his axe, "Andrei, withdraw if you must, I'll hold them"

Lyle casts another damaging spell 2d20 ⇒ (16, 17) = 33 and the bugbears resist the spell.
Morgran casts a a spell and(itsDEXsavein5E) 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 the Spider dodges the spell.
Duncan strikes once for 7 damage.

Round 4
Spider attacks Duncan 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 hitting for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 and Duncan must resist the venom 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 Duncan does not and suffers 2d8 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8 poison damage

Again the spider bit him, but this time the venom was injected straight into a vein. Pain racked his body as the poison ran its course, causing his muscles to cramp and convulse. Trying to concentrate through the pain, Duncan again strikes out at the eight-legged protagonist.

I have Duncan at 1HP. He had 18HP and then took 9+8=17 damage. I'm also not sure why you are rolling disadvantage...

Oops..you are right...I forgot to add the poison damage!! He now has the poisoned disadvantage does he not? That gives him disadvantage to all attack, save and skill rolls??

Not in the bestiary entry for this creature....it just deals poison damage

Oh...ok. I just thought that it poisoned me, so now my character has the "poisoned" condition. Cool if not...you could just take my first 2 rolls as my attacks if you want...

Andrei tries to take down a bugbear... praying that Iomodae will give him the skill to do so.

Ok, well thats good planning then! +7 damage is alot for level 4.

With the spider out of view, Lyle weaves a quick spell to help heal Andrei, also calling out some words of encouragement.

Healing Word: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Healing word to Andrei, also granting bardic inspiration - +1d6 to next attack.

Shifting focus once more, Morgran, eyes blazing red, points towards the remaining bugbear, "Drop you weapon or suffer the fate of your Master, <cough>"

Intimidate: 1d20 ⇒ 13

using Thurmatology (sp?) to change eye color

Woo! Sorry for not posting on that last blow there - I saw Andrei up and thought I'd taken my turn for some reason.

That said, I've just taken on additional GMing duties with GM DocEvil's retirement, and unfortunately that means I need to reduce my game commitment. Although I'm having a blast here I'm afraid I can't continue on. Thanks so much for the gaem though!
