Khardir, want the breastplate of Luck? You're our third frontline armor wearer and it acts as Banded Mail of Luck. I'd suggest Nisany have the metamagic rod (Maximized cure spells can keep us all alive, especially with the 'she heals herself, lifeline heals us' tactic)
Bernard Hammersmith |
Anybody need the ring of force shield? Bernard is rocking an AC of 25, so I'd be happy to share it with someone else whose AC is lagging. I'd be happy to take the ring of acid resistance instead, as I could see Bernard tanking for the group as the others work the flanks when we eventually fight the dragon!
Zaijka Raven-born |
Ooh, I missed that there was a mnemonic vestment? I will definitely take that, they're one of my favorites as I tend to heavily favor spontaneous casters.
Vibenia Scaeva |
I guess I could take the ring of Force Shield. Requires shield proficiency, which I have and the AC boost could come in handy on the rare occasions I get caught in melee. The activate/deactivate works well for shooting as well.
The way Bernard takes damage the ring of Acid resistance is probably a very good idea.

Good point. Shooting from weird vantage points while out of reach could be very useful. So what do you think Nisany, would you like the rod?
Nisany Blim |
Bad weather yesterday and work did a number on my head. I am turning off all electronics. Hopefully I should be functional tomorrow
Zaijka Raven-born |
Finally got around to updating my statblock! It was a bit out of date, and I don't trust my record-keeping ability of late, so I used Herolab to rebuild with all the same options as before to check my work.

That's an awesome ability Nisany! Also do you want to take the metamagic maximize rod?
Vibenia Scaeva |
Bernard, you're probably most likely to be in position to use the ring of strength-sapping, since you're usually in face-to-face melee range.

Sorry from me as well, my big day at work that I've been promising for weeks now finally came to pass. XD Culminations of six months of preparation tend to eat up time like no other.
GM Neirikr |
@DM: your Maffei is delightful.
Thank you, though I'm surely butchering the second-person singular forms. :P
For transparency: Maffei's success at scouting the monastery will depend entirely on the amount of negative levels you have restored, which means that as is, she won't be able to explore the entire structure. With one level restored, she will get through most of the ground floor, at least. I believe you have one scroll of restoration left after restoring Bernard's drained Constitution, in case you want to make that investment. That would buy you another floor of reconnaissance, basically.
Maffei can sketch you a map (effectively revealing the relevant rooms on the map) and make notes on what enemies and hazards are in each area. She will also disarm all the traps and unlock all the doors/containers that she finds and that are within her ability—obviously, her negative levels affect this as well.
Vibenia Scaeva |
Yeah I think it's worth it.
GM Neirikr |
DM, am I reading this right? Let me know if I'm missing something. Also, would using Stunning Irruption to enter the northern hall mechanically be noticeable to those outside the hall?
Looks good to me. Your plan does quite effectively minimise the risk of being caught: with the kobolds inside a thick-walled stone structure, Mr. Funny Hat in the northern courtyard is the only one in position to hear it, and there are still the normal penalties for distance. The sounds of a prolonged combat are easier to hear, of course, so you might want to close the door behind you.
I'll process the infiltration presently.
Zaijka Raven-born |
Ok, the worst of my personal life is hopefully past now. (60-hour workweeks every week are overrated. Sigh.)
GM Neirikr |
DM, is it possible to climb up to the rafters? If so, how hard would it be?
Climbing any of the central pillars requires a DC 25 Climb check, and balancing on the 2-foot wide rafters requires a DC 5 Acrobatics check.
Of course, for Bernard, this information is now somewhat redundant—a Large creature with a 10-foot reach can attack either of the hanging grioths from ground level.
Ok, the worst of my personal life is hopefully past now. (60-hour workweeks every week are overrated. Sigh.)
Yeah, that doesn't sound too healthy...

Bernard is just gathering himself after his explosive entry when he finds reality warping all around him - the walls shrink down, the ceiling closes in upon his head, and for a moment he can't figure out what by Abadar is happening to him -
- but he manages to restrain his shout of surprise as he finally processes Zaijka's words, and flashes her a grateful grin over his shoulder before lumbering down the great hall, moving slowly at first so that he can charge at full speed when he gets closer.
