I think we both are Nis. As well as Dusk

So I frequently run into frustrations over which I have no control. They are not the result of anyone doing anything wrong, nor are they anything that I can affect. If I replaced Khardir with a different character, I would expect that the next encounter would immediately do something that marginalized the character - not because of DM malice, but just because of bad luck.
If my discouragement is too upsetting to people I can leave the game. This is not an ultimatum or anything of the sort; I am simply trying to be considerate. I expect that nothing will change and things will always go poorly for me and there's nothing that I can do about it, but this is not other people's burden to bear.
I certainly don't want you to leave, but I would appreciate it if you didn't let your frustrations spill over into the gameplay thread. If you really need to vent, do it here.
The following advice might be unwelcome, in which case I apologise, but you might want to consider whether your fixation on the negative has become a self-fulfilling prophecy. From a GM's perspective, I don't see Khardir failing any more often than the other characters, but you—as a player—tend to take such failures quite personally. You're very, very unlikely to be some walking statistical anomaly, so it might be more constructive to reconsider your attitude towards the hobby. As long as dice are involved, occasional failure is inevitable—in a sense, Pathfinder is all about trying to minimise the power dice have over your success. Still, you've got to roll with the punches. Obviously, it's hard to find the positive in a situation where you're made completely impotent, but that's not what's happening here.
I understand if you're not motivated to do so, but you're free to rebuild Khardir to any degree you find necessary—it honestly sounds like you'd rather be playing a martial cleric or a warpriest, rather than a weird occultist archetype. Khardir's base stats might benefit from rearrangement, especially if you don't want to do a full rebuild at this point in the adventure: for example, in my opinion (and based on your description of what you'd like to achieve) Khardir's physical stats don't make him ideally suited for melee combat. Moreover, a casting stat of 17 might be overkill for a character who isn't a full caster and who doesn't rely on high spell DCs.
Also GM Neirikr, cause I'm not sure and didn't get an answer, is Nisany still out of it?

Yup. Unless you're attacked or shaken free by your allies, the fascination persists until the end of its duration.

awww....that sucks! I wish you'd stay.

I can attest to that actually being completely inaccurate in this case. I've been in a number of games with Khardir's player over the years. I've never witnessed anyone have such a poor streak with dice on this board.....ever. It actually does defy probability.
I get it. We're all human, and we all have bad days. When you are, and the thing you do to relax is also a source of frustration, sometimes you vent a little. It's understandable.

I exchanged PMs with Khardir's player, just to make sure there are no hard feelings. I made it clear he's welcome back if he wants to, but for now we'll proceed with the assumption he's out. I'll bot Khardir until the end of the encounter.
Rather than recruit a new player at this stage of the adventure, I'll have you level up early—more specifically, after this fight over. Think on it.
@Syksy: I kind of zoned out on this last round, but how is it that you have two attacks at level 5?

So I completely missed Zev interacting with me to break the effect.
Nisany Blim
Sorry! Website is not updating me
Zaijka are you at negative hit points?
Nisany is going to channel if it is still around after that hit and if it drops she is going to put that thread back in place on Bernard.

It feels cliche because I'm pretty sure every single one of my arcane caster characters ends up taking it...but in this martial of a party, boy howdy is it worth it.

lesser restoration wouldn't this help a little? its not a spell I am very familiar with.

That's precisely what lesser restoration is for, if you mean getting rid of Syksy's debilitating Wisdom damage. :P
@Syksy: Have you levelled up?

Sorry for the delay, updated Syksy to 6th (she was missing a lot of HP).
Aside from numbers got a bonus Combat Feat, so went Cut From the Air.

Sorry if I don't get a chance to post for the next little bit - work week from hell and it's showing no signs of stopping anytime soon. I'll try and get in posts as I can.

Go after the torturer to get any information or at least take out one of the dragon's allies.
Or is there a closer target?
Nisany Blim
y posting might be erratic for a while as there are now covid cases in my house and my young nieces have it. I had to cancel a trip to see my long distance girlfriend. And honestly I just really depressed right now. Please bot me it I am not keeping up.
Vibenia Scaeva
I'm sorry. I hope your nieces come through it just fine. Take every precaution possible, and hopefully after you quarantine you two can re-plan your trip.
*hug*

Apologies, but I've lost the thread of the plot. Could someone either link to key posts, or provide a very brief summary of what we're trying to accomplish? I know we're looking to close the Window to the Void, but our immediate short term goals in the monastery are opaque.
Syksy Kalma
I think that now we have Viterri rescued it'll be to find one of the lieutenants so we can get more info on the dragon or mirror.

Thank you. Oddly enough 3 tests later I still have a negative result for covid. Not gonna complain and hopfully I can still get my trip.
Thank you all for your continued patience with me. This has not be a good year and I know I have been flighty.
And for a game related question. Had we rested? Should Nisany have all her stuff back to full?
Zaijka Raven-born
Sorry I've been out of it; that's likely to continue for at least a week or two more while I'm trying to deal with everything. I'm still kicking, but on top of the work-related insanity I have going on right now (60-65 hour weeks every week, one day off), I also have vertigo on the daily, so bad I can barely keep my feet sometimes. Feel free to bot me as needed.

.
No, this was an execution.
You aren't kidding. Assuming a 19 hits she just took 91 damage. If a 14 hits then she took 109
Like I said....
Heh Haste aka FINISH HIM!!
