”We should hurry, the Dottari may not have organized this, but theyre unlikely to be alright with spells and gunfire to be flying around so close to the Opera House.” the man says.
Leaving the area quickly, Zea thanks you for the rescue, as does the man, who introduces himself.
”You can call me Creeley. While in my cups I may have been too bold—said a few unthoughtful words about the Lord Mayor and his fondness for goats, as I recall. Still, while I'm no one's idea of a good citizen, I'm rather shocked to see my actions draw this kind of opprobrium.”
Zea shakes her head. ”In Kintargo, only a human could say such a thing and be surprised at a swift reprisal.”
Creeley nods, looking genuinely chagrined. ”Too right, lass, and I appologize.

He smiles mirthlessly. "You do rest easy, don't you, brother Declan? Where ever you may lay your head after your day spent doing...whatever it is you are doing?"
"As to the confidience placed in me, vis-a-vis my position in service Empress and Country, it would be presumptious of me to say that none could perform better, but I think that things in this city are as calm as they are likely to be, give the disagreeable and insubordinate character of our fair city."

You make it sound like some carefully orchestrated plot! It is nothing but a bunch of ungrateful commoners trying to claim they can run this city better than those of us bred to rule for generations. How hard can it be to lock up the rabble that marches through our streets? Now I hear that there is some scar-faced woman branding good, law-abiding citizens, and the people hold her up like some kind of folk hero?
I am hearing a lot of 'we've got it under control' and 'don't worry' but I am not hearing much in the way of actual measures being taken to counteract this threat--from you or the town gossips. In the eyes of the public, we are losing this damn war, brother. We need to correct our public relations problem. ”If I didn't know any better, I'd say you discovered your patriotism”. Padraig snaps off a sloppy, sardonic salute.
”Now, there was an abundance of sense in your soliloquoy, so let me address your concerns, point by point: I do indeed assert there is a carefully orchestrated plot. Several, in fact—have no doubt that the Court, certain subversive elements in the Academy, even the bomb-throwers on Blinker Street—these people are actively scheming to bring down Chelish rule in Kintargo.
”The devil's in the Nursery are organizing—even after we removed Strea Vestori from the equation. Students are gathering in coffeehouses, businessmen in salons. Crows are gathering to pick the corpse of this city.”
He smiles, and draws a cigarette from his satchel, and lights it with a foul-smelling lucifer.
”Now, I won't tell you they're all working together in one grand conspiracy. Yet. But seeds are planted. And I'll not sow salt over the whole of the city. Our aim is...targeted. Precise.”
”The halfling lass, for example, with the rather ironic scar. We are, shall we say, aware of her. But what would you have us do, tear apart half of Villegre looking for her? How many scarred heroes will our Dottari leave in their wake?
[b]”When I say we have this under control, don't think I'm lying out of concern for your emotional welfare—simply put, we do. Things are...unsteady. But they are unsteady in a way that we understand, and there is a path to stability here. One that would not be nearly so clear were we to start kicking in tavern doors and pulling people from their beds at night.”
”We have teams spreading rumors right now. I won't diminish your talent as a speaker—we are both blessed with the gift of the gab. You would be useful. I would take you on board, in an instant, and I daresay my superiors would support the move.”
He tosses the cigarette over his shoulder, and speaks in a cold, flat tone unlike his normal laconic drawl.
”But father forbids it.”
With that, he stalks off towards the house.

We will need to meet soon as things in Kintargo seem to be escalating quickly, and I firmly believe that the two of us working together would be to the benefit of Kintargo as a whole. Do take care, and don't go gettin yerself dead. - Huck"
As his raven flies off, he bids farewell to both both Creeley and Zea, tipping his hat in respect towards both individually.
"Creeley, once things calm, I reckon I owe ya a drink. In the spirit of makin new friends and the like." Taking a glance at Zea "Hey Zea, try and take my advice this time ya, don't go gettin yerself dead. I'd be mighty torn up about it if that were to happen. I'm glad yer ok."
Letting out quite the laugh as they make their return trip home. "You know what the best part of today was, watchin ol' Bob here get his weekly bath. I reckon, I don think I've seen something so entertaining in a spell" Patting Declan on the back as he continues down the allyways.

Backtracking a bit to Pharast 15th, 4715, around 4:00 PM thanks to our rather reasonable GM!
After a lengthy discussion of plotting and planning out the assault, Declan led the merry band of rebels on what had to be his most treasonous act to date. That this followed his recent spat with family was of course coincidental. They took advantage of the hidden port in The Nest to launch a small boat and paddled their way up river to the Old Harbor, just outside the Western wall surrounding Old Kintargo.
Upon arrival, the adventurers split up somewhat to attract less attention. The halflings, Dyst and Lily, took the lead as certainly the stealthiest of their group. Leila, Rathgur, Huck and Jeeves followed a ways behind, taking to the alleys to hide their approach as best they could. Declan made no effort to hide his presence, instead simply acting nonchalantly as a citizen passing through the area, stopping once he could see the entrances to the main building of the Sallix Salt Works and the outbuilding identified as a barracks by the Fushi sisters. The plan was to watch for the patrol that they were warned about, and after it got a safe distance away, they would approach the barracks building stealthily.

Before heading out with Lily, Dyst offers to swap 1-2 of her normal small daggers for his sharpened ones (small, nonmagical), in case she needs to get the jump on someone, while drawing one of his own. Following Lily’s lead, he prepares to stealth up while staying a few steps behind her.

| Jeeves Tanessen |
After Declan let Jeeves know telepathically that the patrol just passed and entered into the main building and commented that they don't seem very alert, Jeeves gave the signal to his companions. He tapped the shoulders of those nearby and gave a thumbs up to the halflings a short distance ahead. With that signal, he readied his greataxe as he knew it was time to slip into the barracks and hopefully catch the resting guarddmen unawares.
He let the halflings make the first approach then followed behind as quietly as he could.
