Here's the discussion thread. If you have anything you need to talk about but don't want to clutter up the gameplay thread, do so here. Strategize, questions about leveling up, etc.

I'm going to be going with the "meeting a contact" story hook, still ruminating on my actions.....

2 people marked this as a favorite.
Male Aasimar (appears Human) Gunslinger, Level 3 HP 22 | Init +3(+5 GS Init) | AC 17 (T 13 / FF 14) | Fort +3 / Ref +6 / Will +2 | Perc +7 | Sense +1 | Darkvision 60'

So I created a little sticky note on my desktop to aid in PBP formatting, as kind of a quick reference guide. I'll provide an example of each one, and then how its done. For the "how it's done" simply remove the space after each '['

"I'm your Huckleberry" This is in-game character speech

It's so nice to sit at work and play on PBP This is out of character commentary / info

Profession:Drunk: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 This is your dice rolls
- this is done with [ dice=Profession:Drunk]1d20 + 10[ /dice]
- you would replace the d20 and the plus with your roll
- Side note, I did notice that die rolls take a bit longer to publish.

Fortitude Check to avoid getting Drunk at work Fort Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
- this is done with [ ooc]Roll description[ /ooc] [dice=Roll]1d20 + 5[ /dice]
- this would be used when giving a description of what you are rolling

You should have a drink with me This is telepathic speech between characters
- this is done with [ b][ i]Speech[ /i][ /b]
- make sure you close the script with the opposite of the opening. B/I than I/B

The above are all of the main forms of in game formatting I've come across. There are more formatting options of course, but through the tutorials Matt posted, and a few mock up games I've looked over, these are the most common ones used by all.

Oh, and as always, make sure ctrl+a / ctrl+c are your best friends. I also keep notepad open as well. This timeout timer is no fun.

The way I'll set this up is I'll list everything we have, if we have identified it or not, what it does, and it's sell value. If someone wants it, speak up and I'll update the list. If no one wants the item, it's gonna get sold. I also propse from this point forward splitting earned income up in 7 ways. The 6 of us, and the 7th being the Rebellion / Party fund.

I like the idea of splitting up cash by 7, with the 7th share going in the common pool for rebellion funds.

Jeeves and Declan don’t want any of the unclaimed stuff except maybe a tanglefoot bag. I am hoping we can sell most of it cuz I’d really like to buy a wand, a cloak, and/or a hat of disguise.

Female Halfling Streets Oracle, Level 2 HP 15 | Init +6 | AC 17 (T12, FF15) | Fort +1 | Ref +4 | Will +1 | Perc +3 | Sense -2

I don't need anything out of the stuffs. I also agree with splitting it 7 ways

Female Gathlain Shaman 3 | AC: 17, TAC: 13, FAC: 15, CMD: 12 | HP 22 | Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +6 | Init +3 | Perception +10/+12*, Sense Motive +3/+5*, Low-light vision, Fly speed 30ft (clumsy), Blindsense 20ft (via Spirit Animal, Empathy link)

Detect magic and spellcraft on things

Perception on potion: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24

Spellcraft on scroll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

And I’d like one of the Thunderstones and a Tanglefoot bag. Plus, I should be able to use the wand of Feather Step.

I don’t remember what the final verdict on the ioun Stone was, but if no one else is taking it, I certainly wouldn’t mind it.

I'll take one if the longbows and donate my +1 short bow to the fund for selling

Hey Kal, I think you are off on the sell value of the arcane lock scroll. A 2nd level wizard scroll would be 150gp to buy, so 75gp to sell. (BTW I think we should sell it)

In fact, I really think other than one of the bows and the +1 chain for Rathgur, and the CMW potion of course, I think we can probably safely sell the rest.

By my accounting, selling the feather token, arcane lock scroll, bow, 2 spears, 3 maces, shield, 4 studded leathers, 4 shortswords, 4 daggers, the carnelion, the jewelry, and the 3 doses of shiver, would net us 2281gp.

If we also sell Rath's old scale mail and composite shortbow (Str 12) that is another 100gp.

Added to the current cash in our coffers, that puts us at 2991gp or 427gp apiece when split 7 ways.

(there are also 6 sp and 2 cp leftover, but I assume it is safe to just leave that in party treasure)

I converted the CP into SP, but did not divy out the remainder in each. If someone REALLY wants the SP or CP split we can do so. I like the idea of leaving remainders in the Rebellion Fund.

The discussion board seems like a good place for this. I think it is worth planning a bit as to how we want to grow our rebellion teams.

From the Player's Guide we know there are 4 basic categories of teams we can recruit (Advisors, Outlaws, Rebels, and Traders). We currently have level 1 Advisors (Street Performers), and level 2 Rebels (Infiltrators).

I think we should recruit Outlaws to get Sneaks. Sneaks would allow us to take the Secure Cache action, which basically just lets us hide some of our gear around the city. This seems to be most helpful once the city starts cracking down on weapons so we can hide some around the city.

However once upgraded Sneaks become Thieves and that allows us to take the Activate Safe House action, which gives us another hideout to stash people we've rescued and gives us passive bonuses to Security checks!

Later on once we can upgrade them to level 3 they can become Saboteurs (which give us +2 to all Organization rolls for a week and reduce Notoriety by 2d6!), or Spies (which we can combine with other actions to increase their chances of success and reduce their Notoriety increases). They seem far better than Rumormongers (the upgrade to our street performers).

Otherwise I think it is worth considering upgrading our Infiltrators to Spellcasters. It costs 1000gp, which I know is expensive but I wouldn't be surprised if we have that much left over after everyone spends what they can of the loot we just got. Spellcasters let us take the Restore Character action, which can do 1 of 3 powerful things: fully heal the party, full heal the party of ability damage, or cast Dispel Magic, Remove Blindness/Deafness, Remove Disease, or Remove Paralysis. Plus for a gp cost they can cast Break Enchantment, Raise Dead, Restoration, or Stone to Flesh. Currently we can't do these things as PCs, so being able to do so early seems awfully cheap for just a 1000gp investment.
