Playing a bit of catch up due to my absence... nothing that changes or impacts how we got to the current point. Flavor and future developments mainly.

Arathi's Entrance and info on the new dead Tiefling:

Sitting back in his chair, feet proped up on the table good and proper like, Huck pulls from his flask when this Tiefling walks in. As she finishes informing us of the recent discovery, Huck stands up and tips his hat towards Arathi, offering her a pull from his flask.

"To calm the nerves, you are among friends here Arathi. As for the formalities, I ain't no lord, Huck will do just fine. Now, I reckon we will all be more than happy to go take a looksee. When ya see Zea again, thank her for me. Let her know I'll be by again soon to do so in person, proper like."

Upon arrival at the body:

"Well I'll be, now that just ain't proper. I'm not any kind of healer, but I'd wager this is not the work of any kind of "slasher". A nibbler maybe... definitely no slasher." Letting out a slight empty laugh.

After hearing the news that this is the Tooth Fairy/ies:

"Tooth Faeries ya say... why do they have to go be pickin on these here Tiefling. There is a ripe bunch of Dottari they can get their feast on from. Them snoutlickers definitely deserve it."

That brings us to the... as they say in Spaceballs... the now now.
Upon entering the area, Huck unsnaps Bessy's holster, as always she is primed and ready.

"Arathi, thanks kindly for playin tour guide through all this. I know this can't be settelin right with you, being kin and all. I give ya my word, we will figure this out... one way or another."

Declan, once again disguised as Bob Tanner, joined his new allies on the second excursion to the Devil’s Nursery. He was unusually quiet that day, keeping mostly to himself. He’d never admit it, but he was disappointed that his sadistic dentist hunch proved false.

When it came time to search for clues he mostly just scanned for anything out of the ordinary, then pointed it out for Jeeves to examine more closely.

The Streets of the Devil's Nursery

You spend most of the afternoon searching the Nursery. You get a good idea of what life is like for a Tiefling in the Nursery—hardscrabble, filled with disrespect and fear. Outsiders come to the neighbrohood for business, and most are dismissive—at best—of the people they depend upon as laborers, manufacturers, and servants.

Many of the buildings in the Nursery appear abandoned, but on entering reveal squatters—most tiefling, but more than a few of other races as well. Many of these seem to be hiding out here, but from what you're not sure.

Some of the tieflings here are nervous about your search, but Huck manages to talk them down—mention of the Cloven Hoof Society is enough to get most of them to leave you alone, and even gets you a few subdued thanks for your efforts. One woman brings you a basket of food. Another looks dispirited despite her gratitude, telling you she thinks its just a matter of time before another victim turns up.

It's a big neighborhood, and there's a lot of ground to cover. The sky darkens into dusk, and the sun sets over the western wall. You're walking down the street, several hundred yards to the east of where the first body was found.

Roll initiative. You all failed your perception checks, so there will be a surprise round where you will be unable to act. Also, feel free to move yourselves around a bit to match what your marching order should be.

As the sun begins to set, Huck places his hand on Bessy... just in case those snoutlickers decide to get uppity again.

"Ya see these people Dec, these are the true people of Kintargo. Not those entitled coinhoarders up town. I'm proud of ya partner, I do say you are well on yer way to becomin one of the common folk. Congrats on that." Being completely oblivious to his surroundings, as he keeps up the banter. "I was thinkin, after we solve this here varmit problem, I reckon I may ask Zea to join the cause. What with her Cloven Hoof Society and how well she is liked in the community here."

With an insane cackle, what could only be a Tooth Fairy launches itself from the roof of one of the nearby buildings and attacks Rathgur. The creature is a tiny, grey-skinned, winged creature with an oversized head with a mouth filled with uneven, sharp teeth. Despite carrying an oversize pair of rusty iron pliers, it attempts to bite Rathgur.

Attack roll versus Flat-Footed AC: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 2 = 20
Damage on a succesful hit: 1d4 + 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (3) + (6) - 1 = 8
If this hit is succesful, roll Fort save (paralysis effect)

Another Tooth fairy launches from the roof of the building across the street and attacks Jeeves.

Attack roll versus Flat-Footed AC: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 2 = 12
Damage on a succesful hit: 1d4 + 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (3) + (4) - 1 = 6
If this hit is succesful, roll Fort save (paralysis effect)

A third Tooth Fairy flies into Huck's square to make an attack.

A fourth Tooth Fairy darts from the nearby alley to attack Lily.

A fifth Tooth Fairy also charges into Lily's square.

A final Tooth Fairy rushes Dyst from the rooftop.

All of these creatures attacked using partial charges.
As tiny creatures, they all had to enter the characters squares to make these attacks. If anyone has combat reflexes, or the ability to make attacks of opportunity while flat-footed, this would draw attacks of opportunity.

End of the Surprise round, Huck is up for the beginning of the first round.

Watching as Rathgur gets attacked from this winged thing... Huck realizes that they are under attack by them tooth buggers. Huck, in a daziling display of grace and agility, dashes back just as this little bugger attempts to land on him as well. Screaming out, "Take that you filthy varmit" as Bessy lets rip a shot off the fly, clipping the wing of his attacker. Turning to see that his friends have fallen to the same assault. He begins loading Bessy for the next volley. It is at this moment, Huck feels something bite down on his shoulder... snapping to, realizing that it was just some blasted dream.

"Damn, that's some good tea." Huck cries out as he gets bitten by a bucktooth fairy.

Fort Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Successful Fort Save:

Taking a 5' step back into E14 Will move if Fort Save is a Success, Huck pulls Bessy from her holster and takes focused aim on the varmit that bit him.

Swift Action to activate Focus Aim, graints +5 to all damage rolls till my next turn.

R.Attack vs Touch: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Damage, B/P: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
If this attack brings the fairy down to 0hp or less, I regain the Grit point

Of course, none of the spoiler happens if I fail the save.

These are tooth fairies, but they are a little tougher than the normal kind your familiar with.

Chaotic Evil Tiny Fey with the Extraplanar subtype. You do know that Tooth Fairies are normally Diminutive--these are bigger and tougher than their kin.

Declan's eyes went wide as the nasty creatures descended upon his allies. He shuddered at the sight of their teeth--partially because of the wicked bite it looked like they inflicted and partially out of disgust at their abysmal hygiene.

He approached the one chewing on Huck and raised his cane to strike with a shout in common, still imitating Huck's accent, "Go on! Get!"

A mostly empty threat, but he hoped that the fey wouldn't know that.

Then turning to his allies, he conveyed what info he could about the creatures, "These are the tooth faeries we were looking for. They are certainly fey! I don't know much about these creatures specifically but I know that fey tend to be fragile, but nimble and willful."

Well time to find out how real my threat was.

Yep, empty threat, he thought as he swung wildly at the approaching fey.
