Lady Vanessa moves into the intersection of the alleys. The marionette dangles from her fingers and seems to shake a bit on its own as she sprinkles a little salt in its face.

"Grigor, my pet, do you like ze vun in blue?" she asks it as if talking to herself. "I don't!" she then growls under her breath in response.

Casting Boneshaker on Mr. Blue. Fortitude DC 18 for half damage and movement negated. If failed, he moves 5' South. The movement does not provoke. Misfortune 18+

Lady Vanessa turns her salty bones and dark attentions to the bodyguard-in-blue. His skeleton is wrenched in a dozen different directions, his ribs crack, and his spine is crushed. The lifeless body lurches several feet to one side as it collapses on the cobblestones.

Seltyiel and Night Hunter rain down iron, lightning and fire upon the slaver Midley Blackburn, dispatching his black soul to Pharasma.

Combat over. Victory!

The Qadiran's features melt away, revealing a grayish humanoid creature that seems almost unfinished, with a narrow head, gaunt limbs, and a sinister, noseless face. Its flesh is pale and hairless, and its eyes are vacant and white.

Knowledge (dungeoneering) DC13:
Midley Blackburn was actually a doppelgänger, a monstrous humanoid with the shapechanger subtype.

Near the body lie his masterwork bastard sword and masterwork blowgun. Among his gear, you find 9 blowgun darts and an empty bottle of poison. His three half-orc henchmen wore chain shirts, and each carried a masterwork greataxe and shortspear. Emptying their pockets, you count 177gp. They also carried a large number of potions.

With spells and skills, you identify six potions of cure light wounds, three potions of disguise self, three potions of divine favor, three potions of feather fall, and three potions of hide from undead.

The three reunited, but still chained, slaves stare at one another, speechless. What fate awaits them now?

The Wounded and Afflicted:
Night Hunter (-17)
Einn Sparkbearer (-1; -1 Con damage; unconscious; Must still make another DC14 Fortitude Save or take another point of Con damage.)
Seltyiel (-23)

Setyiel walks over to the slave that Blackburn had, and makes sure that his chains are not painfully tight. Then he asks if someone can use his cure wand on him, in case there is more trouble on the way.

"Eewwww...what is that?" Corona gapes as Midley's disguise melts away, revealing some sort of gray, noseless creature. "Looks kinda like this bad guy in a story I read once, about wizards!"

Once it seems that the battle is well and truly finished, Corona gets to work on triage - stabilizing any of the goons if they're still alive and handing out some of the found healing potions to her injured friends. "Here, use these New Friends! No sense in using our wands when we've got these we can use first!"

She then tries to nudge Einn awake, unsure of what might've happened to make her fall asleep. "Friend....Friend Eiiiiiinnnnnnn....wake uuuuuup...."

After ensuring the enemies won't wake up anytime soon, he assists his friends. "Up, Einn. The Pathfinders don't pay you to sleep on the job."

You realize you have a couple of minutes before the Coins District’s guards—infamous for their lazy leniency—eventually investigate. You're able to rouse Einn back to consciousness, and you stabilize Blackburn's half-orc minions, but the Qadiran slaver's soul is well on its way to the Boneyard.

---

Venture-Captain Ollysta Zadrian is relieved to hear of your success, and she personally welcomes each of the freed heroes, the human ranger Talmar, half-elf paladin Holianda Wist, and the elf sorcerer Elwyhir Eshikonas into the Grand Lodge to recover.

The paladin's joy gradually turns to sadness as she contemplates recent events. “I wish I could say today’s events were isolated, but I cannot. With recent victories to the north, I understand the Fifth Mendevian Crusade is drawing to a close. I now see that we have as much work to do at home helping people as we do on the frontier fighting demons."

"Fortunately, our efforts at the Worldwound have made the Pathfinder Society look as much like a guild of heroes as an association of archaeologists, and the positive response has not been lost on the Society’s leadership. I expect they will continue to support our efforts as we turn them homeward and attempt not to be crusaders, but soldiers of peace."

The leader of the Silver Crusade turns to Corona. “Be prepared for missions of mercy and justice. Our work is not done, Corona Merrion.”

Congratulations, Silver Crusade mission success!

Curse of the Crimson Throne | Loot

After a restful night's sleep within Skyreach, you wake to the final day of festivities.

Slightly before noon, a crowd gathers for the Inauguration in a large open-air amphitheater in the Wise Quarter. Within an hour, the First Lady of Laws, Scion Lady Neferpatra of House Ahnkamen, takes the stage and announces the appointment of Grint Basatrel as the new member of the Grand Council.

Grint then takes the stage to thank Diobel and the High Council for their trust and to give an impassioned speech about both the past and his hopes for improving future relations between Absalom and its vassal cities.

After his speech, the crowd gradually disperses to fit in a bit more city-funded celebration. Music and feasting continue long into the night.

---

Lady Vanessa invites you to accompany her to one of her favorite exclusive haunts, Filthy MacNasty's Flamenco Emporium. The bouncer recognizes the dhampir immediately and calls for a security guard to escort you to the VIP room.

Before you enter the club, Venture-Captain Drandle Dreng, ever looking the part of a blind beggar, sidles up alongside you to chat.

“And so ends an election and begins a political career. I’m pleased that the High Council chose Grint, as he’s amenable to working with the Society. It also sounds as though he’s not the only one with friends in high places; I hear several of our close allies owe you their thanks, and they’ve already begun paying off that debt with a few presents delivered to the Grand Lodge with your names on them. Well done."

"The Society’s strength is not measured by the enemies it defeats but by the friends it keeps.”

With a concealed wave goodbye, Dreng stumbles off into the crowd once more, his alms bowl held high as he listens for more rumors of note...
