Morrigan finishes capturing a large rook behind a pile of trash and steps out grinning, the bird dangling from her hand with a broken neck. Dancing up to the old man, she spins in place, causing one wispy gauze web to wipe across his leg, disgorging a dozen tiny spiders.

Dropping from the roof on a single silken strand, Chitterspite catches the rook, tossed into his arms by the gnome. Quickly spinning it into a web, the spider drops it into Fenster's lap.

Chanting in a sing-song voice, Morrigan intones,

"Chitter, my dear, confound this surly mister,
Blight his brow with blotch and blister,
Cramp his larynx, lung, and liver,
In his guts a galling deliver.

Let him live to earn his dinners
In the Shadows with seedy sinners:
Chitterspite, this judgement quickly bring,
As I, Your master, dost dance and sing."

Morrigan cackles loudly, clapping her hands in time to her finished chant while dancing in place. Chitter drops the rest of the way down to the ground beside the old man and quickly runs to Morrigan. Turning to the old man, Morrigan laughs aloud.

Fenster cringes as the wrapped creature reaches his lap, but not of disgust, only mere surprise. After studying the spider's prey for a second, an evil smile reaches his lips. "A fine gift fer ol'Fenster, he'll eat it later!"

Turning to Telka, the blighted man seems full of the same anger as before. "No reason, no! 'Talya is so high and mighty, with her own gang now."

Sense Motive DC 10:
It's more jealousy than anger actually.

Delving into the haunted streets of the Underbridge, the group of Pathfinder learns the hard way what it means to be a stranger. No tongue untied, not a care whatsoever, yet so many ill glances. By chance, your quest gets back on its trail when an unsuspecting vagrant - for the modest finder's fee of 5 gold sails - delivers an information that may or may not unlock the secrets of that shady district. A woman corresponding to Natalya's description was recently spotted at an old boarding house in Underbridge.

The moon is high in the sky when you reach your destination. The boarding house has seen better days. Its clapboard sides are dark with mildew and marred by scorch marks. In places fire has gutted portions of the roof ’s mosscovered tile shingles, but the building appears to be structurally intact. The building stands near the stark wall of the Seacleft, and scree from several decades of minor rockfalls has piled up along its southern face.

You can use this power 6 times per day.

Part of the ceiling above the entrance has collapsed, revealing an attic crawlspace above; a rickety ladder leads up from the water into the crawlspace. "We need to act, presumably they will have their crossbows at the read so I will send dancing lights up to reveal their position and remove the concealment of darkness, then true strike. Then I propose that Morrigan as the smallest target enters first to draw fire with Zeltyieli on hand to heal her. I will follow after and utilize my true strike to skewer one with a crossbow bolt and the rest of you bring your ranged abilities to bare. Thoughts?" Vandilo whispers to the group.

If they agreee he casts dancing lights sending the spell up towards the rafters, casts true strike and opens the door stepping back. Then he will follow the others in and try a shot at the lurking foes.

There was a spoiler tag for you in GM Lithrac's last but one post.

Zeltyieli:
The entire floor of this chamber has collapsed into the pool of water five feet below. The earthen walls of this flooded subcellar ooze with foul rivulets, and the smell is abominable. Two oozing sewer pipes protrude through the east wall of this pit just above the level of the sewage. Part of the ceiling above the entrance has collapsed, revealing an attic crawlspace above; a rickety ladder leads up from the water into the crawlspace. A door stands in the far wall across the sludge pit. A wooden plank balanced between both doors makes a precarious bridge between the two doors. No creatures are in sight.

Elf [hp = 27/27; AC14/T12/ff12; F +0; R+2; W+3 CMD 12] Wizard 5 (Sin Mage/sloth)

Jordan has improved his alias with a detailed list of his conjurer abilities and sin magic benefits and limitations in spoilers. I try to make it as easy possible on the DM--I should have made my abilities more accessible, but Telka has the right of it -- Duration of summons increased by half my level with a minimum of 1.

Grand Lodge

I honestly have trouble finding anything in your character sheet, Jordan. Would it be possible to ordain it in a more classical manner (like a normal stat block or herolab), please?

Elf [hp = 27/27; AC14/T12/ff12; F +0; R+2; W+3 CMD 12] Wizard 5 (Sin Mage/sloth)

Tribal scars -- just noticed how good it is. Double toughness + at low levels.

Grand Lodge

Thanks for reorganizing your character sheet, Jordan, it looks much clearer to me now!

By the way, I've updated the experience chart (which you can access through the Campaign Info tab). You're very close to level 2!

Grand Lodge

Jordan, your point buy amount to 21, not 20. Could you explain, please?

Str 9 (-1)

Con 10 (0)
Int 17+2 (13)
Wis 12 (2)

If elf bonuses/penalties to dex/con are included, the math works out.

Elf [hp = 27/27; AC14/T12/ff12; F +0; R+2; W+3 CMD 12] Wizard 5 (Sin Mage/sloth)

I paid 2 for a 14 dex after the +2 and 2 for a 10 con after the -2.

Grand Lodge

Ah right, you're an elf, not a human.

Grand Lodge

You've reached 2nd level, congratulations! Time to level up.

As a reminder, Hp is determined like in PFS (half your HD + 1).

I'll let your distribute the loot, including who is wearing the shard for now (I don't think it was made clear).

Grand Lodge

By the way if some of you want to partially rebuild (à la PFS - thanks for that idea EF!), you may do so now. I'll be using the Ultimate Campaign retraining rules if you want to retrain anything later on.

Oh, and you can already add the rest of the reward for bringing back the shard to Sheila Heidmarch (250 gp).

I'm happy with Ramenhotep as he is; it'll be a slow power growth build though. Next level I'll get Rime Spell which I'll be able to put on Frostbite for free thanks to Magical Lineage (I thought it was a cool twist from the normal Intensified Shocking Grasp build). And at level 8 or so I can start taking Living Monolith, which will give me Enlarge abilities, which is fun.

Hi,

The party has the following loot and gold.

744 gp.
Ammo, Bolts 9
Armor, Chain Shirt, Mwk.
Climber's Kit 2
Grappling Hook
Holy Symbol, Silver
Potion, Cure Light Wounds 3
Potion, Lesser Restoration 2
Ring of Feather Falling
Rope, Silk, 50'
Scroll of Shield
Second Story Harness 2
Shard (artifact)
Smokestick 2
Tanglefoot Bag 3
Thieves' Tools
Thieves' Tools, Mwk.
Wand of Mage Armor (10 charges)
Weapon, Dagger, Silver, Mwk.
Weapon, Hand Crossbow, Mwk.
Weapon, Shortsword, Mithral
Weapon, Whip, Mwk.

Would anybody like to call dibs on anything? Telka would like the masterwork chain shirt, a climber's kit, second story harness and a tanglefoot bag, if nobody else wants these items.

I vote Zeltyieli take the ring of feather falling.

Ramenhotep already took a potion of cure light and a potion of lesser restoration. Also, I'll take the mithral shortsword as a backup weapon if no one else wants it.

Hralyk will take the MW Thieves' Tools and, unless anyone wants them, the other Climber's Kit and the other Second-Story Harness. He'll also take the silver dagger (unless someone else wants it - Hralyk is probably the most likely to be able to power through DR).

Zeltyieli's Vitals:

Zeltyieli would love the dagger -- in case of DR... and like most of us, would love to upgrade his light armour for the MW chain shirt.

Nothing else is terribly useful to him -- though we can sell some of the stuff he'd be delighted to get some coin to upgrade equipment....

... though the earlier suggestion of the ring of feather fall isn't a bad one -- he's not so good at climbing.

Male Half-Orc Barbarian 2/Oracle (Metal Mystery) 3 [ HP 48/48 | AC 18/T12/FF16 | Fort +6, Ref +3, Will +3 (+1 vs. transmutation spells) | Move 40' | Init +2 | Perception +8 (Darkvision)

I'm perfectly fine with Zeltyieli having the dagger, and agree with the sentiment of better armor. Hralyk would like to find a breastplate (MW or otherwise), personally, so he'll hold out for that.

So, for now, Hralyk will be taking the MW thieves' tools, climber's kit, and second-story harness. Is that okay?

Zeltyieli got the chain shirt and the dagger. Everyone else got the items they requested.

Jordan got the scroll of shield and wand of mage armor, as he's the only one who can cast them reliably

Instead of a Mwk. Breastplate I picked up an agile breastplate for Hralyk; better for climb checks (which it seems like we're going to need shortly) - long term are you looking for mithral breastplate?

After all this we've got ~500 gp.

Zelyieli, I recommend you buy cleric scrolls that you think might be useful; Say 150-200 gp worth

I recommend Ramenhotep and Jordan also pick up some utility or combat scrolls (100-150 gp each).

I'll look into maybe getting some scrolls later tonight. Utility/buff scrolls might be useful but magi are not very good scroll users (as much as I love having scroll libraries on my characters).

Get some offensive ones then :)

Color Spray, Jump, Ray of Enfeeblement, Shield, Silent Image, Grease and Enlarge Person come to mind as useful 1st level magus scrolls.

Hralyk will be fine with the agile breastplate, thanks. Long-term (after level 4, when he gets the proficiency), Hralyk will probably be going for heavy armor (probably something mithral, either full plate or agile half-plate - since they're treated as medium armor, he'll move at full speed).

On another note, save DC's on scrolls of offensive 1st-level spells will be 11, so those will be nearly as useful as they might otherwise be. I'd suggest utility scrolls - comprehend languages, etc.

Animal-Speaker Bard 5 | HP 49/49 | AC:15 T:11 FF:14 CMD: 16 | F+6 R+7 W+6 (+1 vs disease or poison) | Init +1 | Per +9 | Sense Motive +14 | Stealth +6

I am aware of how the DCs are calculated, and that offensive scroll effectiveness vs. spells is down 30-50%. Nevertheless, options are nice, and I don't think we're quite at the level where bad guys have double digit saves.

I'll throw a few other things in to cover our bases when I have a moment. I do tend to be over-meticulous in PF preparation activities, for better or ill (wish I cared this much about RL ;) )

If given a 200gp allowance for scrolls, Zeltyieli would likely load up on the basics -- two CLW, two Bless, two shield of faith, a remove sickness and a remove fear.

Elf [hp = 27/27; AC14/T12/ff12; F +0; R+2; W+3 CMD 12] Wizard 5 (Sin Mage/sloth)

Jordan can scribe scrolls. With the cleric, they can both make a clerical scroll. It costs half price then as the long as Zeltyieli knows the spell. We can do one a day.

I too believe in avoiding putting spells with DCs on scrolls. There are so many that do not need them -- and protection from evil is a must.

Grand Lodge

That raises an interesting question, "will there be enough time to craft?" The answer is definitely yes, so if you wish to take crafting feats later on, you're more than welcome to do so.

Nice thing about being a cleric, unless it's alignment or deity restricted, I know it.

If we wanted to take some time to scribe rather than buy, even a day's worth, might be useful.

Of course, we should probably talk to her husband sooner rather than later.

Grand Lodge

I'd like the group to set two commonly-used marching order, one for 5-ft wide spaces, and one for 10-ft wide spaces, please. It could be used as default unless you state otherwise in your posts.

That'll help me move everyone in a sensible order since in dungeons the leader usually walks first and thus determines when you enter a room/move forward.

I'm guessing Hralyk will want to be in front either way. So how about this:

Telka
Zeltyieli
Jorac

10-foot wide:

I only put Jorac in back because I thought it would good to have our healer more in the middle for channels and general healing mobility. If you have any objects, go ahead and change it.

Lithrac: is too late to retcon purchases? I can see us needing alchemist fire or acid very, very soon and those were some of the things I was intending to purchase for the group but didn't quite have time to this week.

My full shopping list is

2 alchemist fires (40)

Scroll of Remove Sickness (12.5 with scribing help from wizard/cleric)
Scroll of Touch of the Sea (12.5 with scribing help from wizar/cleric)
Oil of Bless Weapon (50)
= total 348.5, within our budget.

It would only take one day to do the scribing. They would just all be on one scroll for the wizard and one scroll for the cleric.

I don't have 8 spell slots to do all the scrolls I was hoping for.

But yes, one multi-spell scroll is a single item, so that does work.

Elf [hp = 27/27; AC14/T12/ff12; F +0; R+2; W+3 CMD 12] Wizard 5 (Sin Mage/sloth)

Scribing rules normally limit to one per day. I plan to scribe 2xenlarge person to start. Typically putting the mage in the back is a bad idea unless the DM gives you a no ambush guarantee.

I would suggest putting Telka in back and moving Jordan to the middle - her first action most combats will (I assume) be to begin inspire courage, while Zeltyieli and Jordan will want the buffer on both ends for spell casting.

Other than that, I have no problem with the remainder of the marching order or any of the purchases.

By the way, you can T20 to disable a trap but unless you have +40 you probably shouldn't since taking 20 means the first round you roll a 1, then the next round you roll a 2, etc. So you'll likely set it off in the first round. Taking 10 works just fine though and T20 on a lock is OK I think.
