That was actually for Jo Emmett. Your action is a normal move + standard action.
Jo crawls away from the wolf, cautiously warding the beast off as he moves. Byron swings at the goblin next to him, but his sword misses as the little devil dances away still laughing. Xianae steps toward the archer, but misjudges the quickness of the little fiend and another goblin is missed.
Roman, you're up to just decide where you're moving and then I'll move Emmett into your old square. After those, Coran is up.

Roman storms through the door, jumping over Jo as he crawls out, and attacks the wolf with the precision of Coran's guidance and the power of his wrath!

![]() |

Need to have you tell me about that lucky method Roman. I could use it in a couple PbPs where I'm a player.
As Roman makes his dramatic entrance into the room, the wolf snaps out at his legs. Adding insult to injury, the wolf's teeth dig into Roman's leg and he falls to the ground.

Emmett steps to the doorway and works his trickery on the wolf who responds with a growl, "No today witch. Try your tricks on someone else."
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Coran is up.

Roman Fomin |

The wolf definitely has a lucky method with those trip rolls. But how did he get an AOO when Roman moved into a threatened square, not out of it?
In the other thread where we play an all-dwarf game, I often roll low when I give a half-hearted description, and when I describe an epic action the rolls seem to support it :)

![]() |

Its the same situation Jo faced earlier. I'm ruling that this is an AoO situation. My rationale is that while you are moving past a corner, you are also moving through a squeezed space that requires two squares of movement. If you guys ever face the same situation in your favor, I'l give you the same benefit.

End of Round 4
Coran elects to hold his ground in the tunnel rather than try to slip into the room or risk fighting on two fronts.
Hackles bristling on its back, the wolf growls savagely and continues to rip at Roman with its teeth. It catches a vulnerable spot where the inquisitor's neck is exposed and it rips a chunk of flesh from Roman. Bleeding profusely, Roman sags to the ground unconscious. "Leave him and go back to the city heroes." snarls the wolf.

End of Round 5
Jo surges to his feet, the little goblin next to him taking advantage of the situation to try to thrust its sword past his armor. Jo rises nearly straight into the little blade, opening a deep wound in his stomach. The sudden loss of blood causes his own blow to catch only air as the goblin continues dancing and laughing with glee at the chaos.

Moondark moves closer to the opening to the room, growing increasingly concerned over the impending disaster that seems to be taking place on the other side of the little hole.
Byron takes a less than confident step over Roman's body, his foot nearly slipping in the growing pool of blood. But his weak swing penetrates the wolf's defenses and the creature cries out in pain as the blade cuts far deeper than expected.
Like Jo before her, Xianae's blade whistles over the goblin's head as the little menace laughs at her attempt with glee.
Emmett shouts at the goblin at the far end of the room. Its eyes widen as his arcane mischief arcs across the room. Sure enough, Emmett's hex takes hold in the little creature's mind.
Will save 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
Coran recognizes that disaster awaits if he doesn't do something quickly takes a chance and darts into the room, running right past the wolf and one of the goblins to take the spot Byron stepped out of. The wolf snaps at him as he flies by. The wolf catches Coran on the seat of the pants and rips skin and flesh from him, but the halfling keeps his feet and manages to get into the room.

The wolf shifts its attention to Byron. "Want to join your dead friend? You should leave now while you still can. I think I'll eat you alive while the goblins roast your friends over a slow fire." The wolf's jaws sink deep into Byron's flesh and Byron drops to the ground right on top of the unconscious form of Roman.

The goblins once again attempt to swarm over Xianae, hoping to bring another of the hated foes to the ground. Emboldened by their success in felling one foe, the goblins strike with renewed confidence. A flurry of blows from their tiny swords open cuts all over Xianae's body. 10 hp total damage

End of Round 6
Jo takes a ferocious swing at the goblin that struck him when he stood and smashes it into the ground with Rosebud.
Next to Roman, Moondark looks for some way to help, but fear of the destruction being wrought by the wolf on the warriors keeps her from trying to slip into the room.
Byron tries to finish the wolf with a blow from his awkward position on the fallen Roman, but he cannot find a good purchase and the blow merely glances off the wolf's fur.
Xianae's blow misses the goblin, the accumulation of blood loss has her wobbling and weak on her feet and she nearly falls with the effort.
On the ground, Roman has finally stopped bleeding thanks to the gifts of Coran's gods, but he remains unconscious.
But fortunately, Emmett swallows his fear and with an awkward shot around the corner, manages to score a lucky strike with his crossbow bolt. It plunges deep into the wolf's eye who cries out, "They come now Whitechin!" before collapsing to the floor.
Still faced with a goblin right next to him, Coran pulls out his rapier and attempts to stick it with the tip. He lances the little devil through the shoulder, but doesn't do enough damage to get it to fall.

End of Round 7
Jo steps over next to Xianae and with a dreadful fury unleashes Rosebud at another goblin. He lands another brutal blow with the hammer and another goblin drops to the floor of the chamber.
Finally with a clear passage into the room, Moondark joins the rest of the group inside. She fires her crossbow at one of the goblins still standing. Xianae, consciousness fading fast from the blood loss takes another weak swing at the last remaining goblin, but again she fails to connect and this time slumps to the floor unconscious, but seemingly stable. Not far away, Roman also seems to be stable thanks to Coran's intervention earlier.
Emmett, distracted by the fallen wolf fires at the remaining goblin, but also fails to connect with his crossbow.
Coran, excluding the wolf and least injured goblin from his divine power brings another burst of healing to the group, his last of the day. Both Roman and Xianae stir from their unconsciousness.
Seeing his foe stir, the last goblin takes another stab at Xianae as she lies on the floor. Trembling from the destruction Jo and Byron have wreaked on his allies in the last few seconds, his weak attempt glances away harmlessly.

Coran Ven den Heuvel |

Coran a little worried, he is low on healing and everyone is wounded. "Who are we sending in? Jo?, or are we all going in."
Unless I am miss counting Coran has only used 4 of his 5 Channels, but has used all of his spells.

Emmett follows the giant, obviously not thinking long enough, trying to get in a position where he can see in the other room while safely staying in this room. "These have been nothing but traps! By Desna get some sense!" What am I saying!? Sense? Emmett, look at you!

Jo lumbers into the doorway, guzzling the potion while the rest of the party begins to regroup and follow him. Those who can see inside can tell that there are six more goblins flanking a throne at the back wall of the room. Their voices rise in a jabbering cacophony of noise. Bloody sigils decorate ragged tapestries hanging on the walls of the room. Another of the giant wolves sits on the floor next to the throne. On the other side, an incredibly thin goblin watches on with hungry eyes. A fat goblinoid covered in white fur, far too large for a garden-variety goblin, sits atop the throne. As Jo appears in the doorway, it bursts out laughing. "Never did have much sense did you kid? Could've made a good living for Ragan in the Pits if you'd had the smarts to dump that idiot Jahat."
You recognize the creature from your early years fighting in the Pits. He was known as the Night Terror and was famed for his brutality. People called him a bug-something. You recall hearing that he was a slave who did well enough to purchase his freedom from Ragan Tolnaro, the owner of the pits.

Xianae too rushes in, but her attack with the battle axe merely swishes harmlessly through the air over the goblin as it ducks and giggles at her miss.
Whitechin finds his footing and brings his weapon to bear. It is a frightful device, a pair of spiked metal balls dangling from chains connected to a long shaft. He shouts out a challenge to Jo, "Resorting to magic Jo? That doesn't sound like you! Never thought you'd accept the help of a witch!" The balls whirl and flow in a frightful display of skill, but the effect is somewhat lessened when Emmett's curse manages to cause him to briefly wrap one of the balls around his own wrist.
