![]() No question, I do get overextended for periods of time and I understand if anyone wants to drop out. We're having a very successful year at work right now with another big pitch this week and things have been nuts over the last few weeks. Post wrapping that combat is up in Gameplay. Since it has been so long, I will remind everyone that there has not really been much of a search conducted so far, especially on the ground level. ![]()
![]() Round 4
The tiefling stabs out at Xianae with its shortsword, but the blade only catches air. With its fear of Zeg causing it to spend too much thought worrying about the shadowy eidolon, Xianae is able to slip her attack in from the back, gashing through the tiefling's armor and dropping her bleeding to the ground. The shadowy light in the carpenter's shop returns. Combat over. GM Rolls:
AoO 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 Damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 Quick Comment on Drag: In case it comes up in the future, drag is a combat maneuver from the APG. It does not require a grapple. It does provoke an AoO unless you have Improved Drag. With it, you can drag a foe into your square and then you shift back a square in a straight line. You only get 5 feet for a successful drag, but an extra 5 feet for each 5 by which you beat the DC. ![]()
![]() Barely visible against the tiefling's darkness, am inky shadow passes through the door and right past Xianae. The tiefling's eyes widen, "Get that thing away from me!" It's quick motion back into the corner causes Zeg's bite to miss.

![]() Page o Maps I'll link directly to the current one in combat (except this fight which is taking place in the dark for everyone except Xianae) ![]()
![]() Yep, that's the perfect way to jump in Talia. Jo rumbles down the stairs with the door crashing against the narrow walls of the stair. Somehow he manages to avoid slamming into Emmett, but he soon finds himself right back in the dark. Next to Xianae, she sees the tiefling drop its crossbow. Jo can hear it clatter to the floor. It draws a sword and stabs at Xianae, but the desperate attack misses her wildly in the dark.
GM Rolls:
Attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 Damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 Party is up

![]() Lelouch Vi Orlovsky wrote: Clerics of own ideals are fully legal This is true for a generic setting. Not Golarion. In Golarion, clerics that do not worship a deity do not get spells and they do not get domain abilities. If you have questions about this, you can find comments on this from a number of the Paizo staff, but here's a pretty definitive comment from James Jacobs. "Clerics in Golarion must have deities." Here's another comment from last month in case you're wondering if that has changed recently. That said, ultimately this a GM call. An individual GM can house rule it any way they like. You're taking a chance with a character who is built entirely around a concept that requires a house rule, but that's between you and your GM. Just don't be surprised if you find other GMs that agree with Bobson. ![]()
![]() Moving things along... Xianae lashes out with her axe at the next tiefling. She cleaves right through his leather armor dropping the tiefling to the ground.
Coran delays and I believe Byron will continue to delay, so we're top of Round 4 with Jo. Round 4: Jo, Enemies, Xianae, Emmett, Coran, Byron ![]()
![]() I put a map up for Xianae if you really want to look, but I think its a little more realiztic being blind ;-) Rule of cool says there has to be a door, but I'd say its move + standard to get to the door and rip it off. Jo bulls his way back up the steps past Emmett. Emerging back into the light in front of a shocked Coran, he rips the door at the top of the stairs off its hinges. The tieflings curse, seeing their easiest target disappear back upstairs and then cringe at the sounds of the destruction Jo is wreaking at the top of the stairs. Desperate to turn the tide of the battle, they attack Xianae with abandon. The crossbow flies over her head and right out the door past Byron, but the one next to her with the sword manages to strike a glancing blow. 2 hp damage GM rolls:

Everyone can go. Byron, you're going to have to go into the dark if you want to get to these ones. Round 3: Jo, Enemies, Coran, Byron, Xianae, Emmett ![]()

The tiefling with the sword thrusts it at you, but it glances off your breastplate with a loud clang. To your right, one of the tieflings with a crossbow drops it and draws his sword. His quick motion catches you off guard and the blade sinks into your side through a gap behind your armor. 6 hp damage The third tiefling takes aim at Jo with the crossbow, but the bolt sinks into the side of the wall next to him. Jo:
You hear the thunk of a crossbow bolt sinking into the wall to your left. Everyone can hear the sounds of battle break out on he first floor. The clash of weapons against armor and the sound of an arrow or crossbow bolt striking wood. Round 2: Coran, Jo, Enemies, Byron, Xianae, Emmett ![]()
![]() Emmett's lights blink out as soon as he tries to summon them.
Xianae: Map for you only. Table is that brown thing to your left. Will take an acrobatics to get over it or head for the one with the sword in front of you. ![]()
![]() Byron:
Byron feels his way along the wall for the door. Just as he finds the doorframe, he feels a blade strike his back. Fortunately, his armor is just enough to turn the blade and he gets outside where he can see again. Shadows fill the doorway he just left. A shape is barely visible within the shadows. Xianae:
You push past Coran, Jo and Emmett to reach the base of the stairs. With your darkvision, you can see three tieflings in the now darkened downstairs room. There are two with crossbows to your left behind the large table. A third with a short sword stands 5-feet in front of you. You still have a move action or a standard action remaining. GM Rolls:

![]()
![]() Xianae - go ahead and go. I'm thinking I may adapt an alternative which basically puts everyone after the enemies on the same initiative and whoever posts first goes first. I think it might speed things up. The other thing that would help me is if everyone could replicate the status bar in a way similar to what Coran has done. Just add it to your Class line in your profile. You can hide it in a spoiler tag if you prefer. ![]()
![]() Coran and Jo continue looking through things upstairs, oblivious to what is happening down below. It is soon clear that this was probably used as a bedroom about a month or so ago, but not recently. GM Rolls:

![]() Xianae leads the way up the steps. There is only room above for Xianae, Coran and Jo on the landing. Emmett stops on the stairs and Byron at the bottom. Xianae and Coran find a well-made bed with blankets and sheets, a chair and a small table. GM rolls:

Everything goes dark. Round 1: Coran, Jo, Enemies, Byron, Xianae, Emmett ![]()
![]() Xianae enters the building. Inside she sees a large table, scarred with many nail-holes, gouges from carving tools, and other similar wear. A smaller square table is flipped upside down in the back. The corners of the room are cluttered with tiny nails, a finishing hammer, and several incomplete wooden chairs. A set of stairs leads upstairs. ![]()

He feels the wound on his leg knit itself closed as he swings his sword at the monstrous skeleton in front of him. The blade slips between a couple bones before meeting the creature's spine with a satisfying crunch and it sinks, lifeless again to the ground with a clatter of bones. The second skeleton steps over its fallen twin and immediately attacks Byron with tooth and claw. The former canine's jaws clamp onto Byron's thigh, penetrating his leathers right where the other skeleton's claw raked moments before. 7 hp damage Pounding footsteps signal the arrival of Emmett, Xianae, and Jo.

Coran, channel energy is a burst and therefore creature with total cover are not affected. I'm going to rule that you do affect the one in the doorway though. Coran calls the the divine connection he has with Abadar and Cayden Cailean and sends a force of positive energy rippling toward the skeleton facing Byron. The creature's jaws go wide in a silent scream, but then it lunges forward again, attempting to clench its jaws on the rogue and rake him with sharp and bony claws. Its jaws miss, but one claw rakes across Byron's thigh, just missing an artery. 5 points damage Round 1: Foes, Tower, Coran, Byron
Guys, I think Roman is gone so rather than GM PCing him through this, I'm going to treat it like he headed back to the wall from Mother Muddlum's As Xianae, Jo, and Emmett begin hustling toward the sound of the fight, everyone can hear the sound of a bell begin ringing urgently from atop the church. ![]()
