Appearance:

Roman has pale skin and dark hair. He has a rather unhealthy and feverish appearance. He stands 6' tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He rarely shows any emotions, but the corner of his mouth jerks involuntarily when he's agitated.

Personality:

Roman is a quiet, introverted person. He prefers to stay silent unless asked a direct question. When confronted, he starts to speak with sudden fervor. He is focused on getting his revenge and setting things right, and rarely has an opinion on other matters. When arguing about something important to him though, he doesn't give ground easily, even to rational arguments, reveling in his strong emotions.

Background:

Roman Fomin used to be a lowly clerk in the Grand Temple of Asmodeus. He was known among his colleagues to be a rational, dependable and agreeable man. When one day, around a year ago, his pregnant wife has not returned home after curfew, many of them were visiting the grieving spouse at his home, offering words of condolescence and support. Soon after the tragedy, Roman has quit his temple job and moved to a similar position in the Lord-Mayor office. The pay there was lower, but the working conditions were more relaxed. Roman took full advantage of that, often reporting sickness or showing up at work in an exhausted state.

Most people took kindly to him, sympathetic towards his plight. However as months passed, his condition was not getting better at all. He had a talk with his superiors, but it ended fruitlessly as Roman denied any need for support and declared himself perfectly fit to work. A month later, another talk occured, this time Roman was accused of having a drinking problem. After a long argument, Roman calmly left the clerk supervisor's office, took his things with him and left. He did not need a day job anymore. He had a night one.

For since the tragic night of his wife and unborn child's death, Roman understood that in this city of laws and punishments, no one would willingly take upon themselves the task of getting rid of the night terrors which plague the city, for fear of what happens if they fail. Everyone has something to lose, but him. No one needs it as deeply, as painfully, as Roman himself.

Every night, Roman was out in the rooftops and sewers of the city, being stalked by the shadow beasts. Through sheer luck, or maybe fate, he managed to stay alive and became a stalker himself. Driven by the ceaseless pain of his loss, he is determined to do everything to cleanse the city of its plague - and of those who let it thrive for so long, too.
