Emmett Escheus |

Emmett thought the idea better than his, and waits for Byron and Coran to come back. He looks at Jo, glaring: "Running blindly into trouble is perhaps not dangerous for you, but it is for your friends. I understand you don't like it. We just do a little... For Moondark." He tries a smile, but doesn't quite make a convincing one.

Byron and Coran slip around the backside of the building, keeping it between them and the church. Looking around the corner, they can see that there is a door on the east side of the building. Right side of the map. Coran does not see or hear anything from the building or the church.

Xianae |

I start to get a bit nervous and fidgety now that Coran has moved away, but they sneaked away and I know that I cannot sneak well. I stand beside Jo, awaiting the return of our friends.

Byron Radanavich |

Byron whispers back to Coran:
"If they all come closer, we risk them tipping off the people over in the lair, whereas if we open the door to this building by ourselves, we only risk letting people already in the building know. I think we should take our chances..."
He then begins to carefully attempt to open the door.

Byron begins fiddling with the lock. At first he has no success, but then takes a little more time to take a good look at things. He recalls a similar lock that Fahroni once showed him and realized that he needs to twist the pick just so. He is rewarded with a "click" as the lock opens.

Byron eases open the door of the former shop. Suddenly a skeletal creature launches itself right at his throat. The sound of bone or claw on wood gives Coran the briefest warning, but Byron is caught completely unprepared. Fortunately, he gets his arm up in time to ward off the beast's savage maw and knocks its snout aside. Behind it, both Byron and Coran can see a second identical creature.

Xianae |

Hmmm...There is fighting and that means that Coran and Byron could be in danger so taking the most direct route would seem to make more sense. But at the same time swinging around to see if it is them makes more sense. But with her growing feeling of responsibility of protecting Coran, she would rush there as soon as possible. I think she will take the most direct route, when her friends are in danger she doesn't think straight.

Xianae |

Oh right ... well I think she would want to run straight there, but seeing as we have been trying to catch them unaware she would swing around behind Coran and Byron. Sorry about that and thank-you Byron :)

Emmett Escheus |

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Emmett worries for his friends as he spies the first sign of trouble: "No Xianae, wait! Let's go around. If it is Coran and Byron, we can only hope to rescue them without drawing the Bastards inside the church's attention. If we cross, we risk fighting on two fronts. It would end up like with Whitechin!" He turns towards Jo, making sure he got his meaning. "Lead the way Xianae! But around, please!"

Coran Ven den Heuvel |

Coran see the skeletal creatures and lets out a small but manly "eep" as he is startled then calls on his faith and Channels the power of his Gods to hurt the Undead.

Coran calls the the divine connection he has with Abadar and Cayden Cailean and sends a force of positive energy rippling toward the skeleton facing Byron. The creature's jaws go wide in a silent scream, but then it lunges forward again, attempting to clench its jaws on the rogue and rake him with sharp and bony claws. Its jaws miss, but one claw rakes across Byron's thigh, just missing an artery. 5 points damage

As Xianae, Jo, and Emmett begin hustling toward the sound of the fight, everyone can hear the sound of a bell begin ringing urgently from atop the church.

Emmett Escheus |

"Oh..." Emmett frowns but he keeps following Xianae. This does not bode well...

Xianae |

As I rush around the side of the church in the same direction, I tilt my head as I hear the bell and take a quick look around to see if there is anyone coming towards us.

If no-one else is coming towards us, then I continue on my way to Coran and Byron ... albeit at a slower and more cautious pace.

Well, we were sent to *kill everyone*, so I don't think we can roleplay that ;-)
Byron curses under his breath, and takes a swing at the skeleton.

Coran reaches out and the healing energy of Abadar and Cayden courses through Byron. He feels the wound on his leg knit itself closed as he swings his sword at the monstrous skeleton in front of him. The blade slips between a couple bones before meeting the creature's spine with a satisfying crunch and it sinks, lifeless again to the ground with a clatter of bones.
The second skeleton steps over its fallen twin and immediately attacks Byron with tooth and claw. The former canine's jaws clamp onto Byron's thigh, penetrating his leathers right where the other skeleton's claw raked moments before. 7 hp damage
Pounding footsteps signal the arrival of Emmett, Xianae, and Jo.
Round 2: Foes, Emmett, Xianae, Tower, Jo, Coran, Byron

Emmett Escheus |

Emmett lets the others go through before him. "That's- not my specialty..."
Delay after Jo.

Xianae |

I don't pay much attention to the alarm, I just carry on to catch up to Coran and Byron.
(If I am able to move and attack a foe in the same round, I will. If not I will just double move to be behind them.)

Battle-Axe Attack : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
I put a bit too much power behind my swing and end up chipping the doorway, as I loose my footing briefly ... narrowly missing Byron, "...Sorry's..." I look ashamed, very ashamed.

Emmett Escheus |

Emmett keeps on waiting, not sure whether he should intervene, but at the last moment, he decides to stare at the closest skeletal dog: "Bad doggy! Bad!"
Misfortune: Will save DC 15.

Sorry, I misread it and didn't realise that the first skeleton was killed too.
I look down at the now still bones, then up at Jo and his hammer, "... Wow's!" Noticing the bells have stopped ringing I look around nervously, "We should's get inside's. Who's will take lead's?"

Emmett Escheus |

Emmett avoids eye contact with Xianae. Not me, for sure!

Xianae |

With Jo's offer, I raise my axe up to waist level, ready to strike at any sudden enemies and step through the door, continuing to walk forwards until an enemy presents itself.
