"There's doors," Vincent replies briefly to Garedon.

"We won't be leaving," he informs the hunchbacked man. "Your experiment will have to wait. Call off your lackey so that we can talk, or I will strike him down."

If I understand the rules correctly, there's not enough time to attempt diplomacy (requires a minute), so I'm making a request using Intimidate (a standard action) on the alchemist-necromancer-hunchback. They're the same bonus.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

Edit: Maaaan.... with that roll, I could have just cleaved the zombie in twain. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 234d6 + 14 ⇒ (1, 2, 4, 5) + 14 = 26 would have been my rolls (confirm and damage). Oh well. Talking is good too, I guess.

Tuich curses herself for rewrapping her scarf as she pulls it off again (MA) and chants "స్టీల్ కండువా!" (SwA) Taking a five foot step west for a line of attack, she again whips the scarf outward. As it travels towards the vat-thing it takes on the sheen of steel as before. (SA)

Vyk pops the top off one of the potions and takes a long draw.

Potion of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Back up to full. Nice.

"Ah. Refreshing," he said after smacking his lips and staring at Dr. Creepy. "Oh, I'm sorry. Was this yours?"

Vincent, once the potions are identified, drinks a CLW potion and takes one of the Enlarge Person potions for later use. Healing: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 Also at full hp.

He gives Dr. Creepy looks of vague disappointment that the man didn't put up a better fight. "Alchemical zombies sound interesting, but I can see why you'd get branded as a heretic. If I walked up to the church of Gorum and told the warpriests that lobbying and petitioning are how people should reconcile their differences, they'd kick me out too. Perhaps you should find a different deity to serve with your particular set of skills. Or some agnostic alchemists' guild?"

He continues, "Please remember that you lost the fight, and by Gorumic code you're no longer in a position to make demands." He finds a clean looking rag on the table and starts wiping blood off of his sword.

Interesting? This man unleashes unspeakable nightmares upon us, and you call it interesting?

Miko is visibly upset at Vincent's words, but in the end it's nothing compared to her anger at the mad alchemist: Are you insane? What kind of way is that to treat a soul?

Tuich is right, what kind of sick conspiracy is this? Were the Pharasmins in on this all along? Bodies gone missing, they surely must have had a hunch. To think we're risking our lives here!

"One should never suspect conspiracy, when incompetence is wholly more likely," Vyk said with a pointed look at Miko and Tuich.

Vyk then addressed Doctor Creepy. "And don't think we haven't noticed you've neglected to give us your name. So out with it."

"Hmm. It is true that the leadership are often fools and he does have a point about the efficient use of available resources..." Garedon pauses, briefly considering the myriad possibilities. "However, the last would-be necromancer we found was a corpse, killed when his own creations turned on him, creations which then tried to kill us. I would suggest an improved version of the spell commonly known as 'Unseen Servant': fewer religious complications, and essentially no hunger for brains that I am aware of."

"As Vyk Tyr has called attention to and attempted to rectify the apparently-deliberate unmentioned state of your name, I would also so note that you appear to be deliberately not forthcoming in explaining the identity and nature of the person or entity with the name of 'Esme'. I would thus also strongly recommended that you ... 'so out with it' ... since we are likely to be much more sympathetic towards any matters of importance to you than would be the Pharasmin authorities."

I don't really expect an answer to this -
"Additionally, please answer the following question, which I have enumerated to make the question more comprehensible and easier answered: Given that the animation of the dead by standard means is an evil act, powered by negative energies and forces and commanded by evil entities, would you consider yourself and your method of reanimation, by your best objective estimation, however necessarily subjectively viewed and judged (you may have the list repeated at any time): 1) evil; 2) insane; or 3) deranged (i.e. highly irrational to a negative, destructive effect); or 4) some combination of the aforementioned three choices; or 5) none of the aforementioned choices?"

"Nah. We'll leave you to the Pharasmins. They'll probably have a few questions for you."

It has been a long time but I am sure there are a few left that remember me. Are you really planning on letting me live?
