Serenna, "Peggy" Crusilva |

Seeing her friend drop down onto the monster, Peggy gives a sigh and releases the rope herself. Kicking off and away from the cliff wall she spins and releases her daggers from her sleeves and elegantly dives into the water on the opposite side of the crab from Lhinneth. Rising to the surface, she slashes at the creature with one of her blades.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 12 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 12 + 4 = 27
Attack: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 9 + 2 = 28
Damage: 1d4 + 5 + 3d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 5 + (6, 8, 7) + (6) = 36

"Salty" Valaravans |

As a free action, Salty uses his new Spontaneous Healing alchemy discovery to heal 5 hp.
After that, and smelling the salty delicacy that is constricting him, he bites, promising himself not to die with an empty stomach.
Bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Finally he tries to escape the grapple, his muscles bulging at the effect.
CMB Check to escape the grapple: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

GM Infinity +1 |
The karkinoi takes a tremendous wound from Peggy popping up out of nowhere, but it is Salty's bite, chomping down by chance on a critical vein, that finally removes the beast's consciousness. The swarm scatters to sea, seemingly realizing it has been orphaned here on the shore.
And you are free to continue the climb...too funny, Salty. xD

"Salty" Valaravans |

Salty chews happily.
"Tender! I can work with this."
Even so, you notice him grimacing from his wounds.
"I like my food like this! Fighting and kicking!"
He spontaneously heals another 5 hp.
"Too bad I can't keep doing that. Well, let's go."
Climb Check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Lhinneth Silvertide |

"Have... have you ever met something you didn't try to bed or to eat, Salty?" Lhinneth asks as watches the dead monster being feasted upon by the half-dead half-orc. "No. Nevermind. Rhetorical question. I don't really want to know the answer."
With that, she goes back to climbing.
Climb: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

GM Infinity +1 |
Salty finds the initial ascent challenging, perhaps slipping on his own blood or bits of uncooked crab-like meat.
Just a reminder DC 15 climb here for the raw rock, you can take 10 now that combat is over. Using one of the supplied climbing kits gives you +2. Also, in theory an advanced climber could stake out a rope path for others, which would let you use rope DC instead of the natural arch

Serenna, "Peggy" Crusilva |

Serenna jabs her daggers into her belt and swims back to the sheer rockface, deftly finding a handhold and beginning her ascent. She grins over at Lhinneth's comment. "The question is which one would be worse? I'm just glad he decided to eat that thing. Wouldn't want to see him try the other!"
Take 10 for the climb

Lhinneth Silvertide |

With a climber's kit Lhinneth and Serenna's modifiers should be enough to reliably hit the DC 20 required for accelerated climbing, meaning it would take the two of us 5 rounds or 30 seconds to get on top... shall we assume we simply do that and then lower a rope and fast forward to whatever happens next?

GM Infinity +1 |
Totally.
Reaching the height of the arch gives a tremendous view of the black waters stretching into infinity. At your feet, wrapped around the rock is a heavy anchor chain supporting lighter chain that ensnares the corpses. Someone may have to climb down this 30 ft to get to the late pirate's body...and peg leg.
For some reason the module has the heavy chain as DC 20 and the lighter chain 15...alternatives to climbing could be cutting the chain or pulling up the corpse or something else creative.

Arven "The Shark's Friend" |

Arven climbs up after the two young ladies, although after his exertions in the fight he climbs up slowly takes 10 for 25 climb check.
He looks across to Salty, "You'd be best to stay below, in case something drops, that shouldn't." as he sees Salty having trouble with climbing the rock.
Once at the top, he looks down at the corpse, "ladies, best leave this to me, just give me some rope to tie round his leg and we can pull it up." He suggests his body glistens with the sweat that comes from his torso after the climb.

GM Infinity +1 |
So, lassoing the peg from underneath and pulling up it seems? Alrighty, you have the leg and avoided a curse. Disturbing the body (instead of just the peg) in any way would have activated the curse.
You find the hidden compartment inside the leg easily enough, and out comes the fragment of what looks like some Mwangi expanse antelope antler, twisted and warped as the rocks below. Still, one side is smooth as pearl, and its not a giant leap of the imagination to think it could indeed once have been part of a simple horn-like instrument.
Also inside is a tightly wrapped spellbook of some sort.

Arven "The Shark's Friend" |

"Ain't so pretty as your leg Serenna, and with it being hollow, won't be as strong neither." The barbarian gives Serenna the best of his wooden leg wisdom, whilst all the time looking at Serenna's natural leg, his eyes wandering up and down.
Coming out of his daze, he smiles confidently as he continues, "Can't say I know what all these pictures and words mean, best let our happy face Salty take a look, he has his own book like this." After a quick look around the heights, Perception 18 (taking a 10) Arven starts to climb down again back to the boat with the new found treasure, Unless either Serenna or Lhinneth want to take the leg/horn/map.

Lhinneth Silvertide |

Lhinneth watches silently as Arven takes it upon himself to retrieve the wooden appendage from the Captain's rotting corpse. Not that she doubts her own agility would be a match for the hulking young man's muscular approach – quite the opposite, in fact – but it's the idea of perturbing Besmara's justice that truly unnerves her.
So it's with visible relief that she welcomes Arven back, carrying the leg with him but having left the body undisturbed. "For once, Arven and I agree on one thing. You're too young to go for the whole "old sea dog" angle, and this gnarly piece of wood basically screams it, Serenna. You know what? After we've got our hands on the loot, I'll buy you a new one. I was thinking... uhmm... mahogany and nacre perhaps?"
With that, she turns around and looks at the waves crashing into the rocks far below them. "Well, that overgrown crab has ruined our little race to the top. Same bet, let's see who's the fastest down?"
That said, she takes a long leap and dives into the sea raging some 150 ft. below.

Serenna, "Peggy" Crusilva |

Serenna smiles, "Maybe you're right. It is a bit rough around the edges. Besides, it doesn't seem to have brought him much luck. That's for sure."
She sighs as Lhinneth pushes herself way from the rock face, muttering to herself "bloody showoff." and makes herby down to a safer hight before, similarly, launching herself into the sea.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29

Arven "The Shark's Friend" |

"No...No!" Arven looks distraught as the two girls plunge off the cliffs edge and into the sea. He goes to the edge and looks down to see where the women splash into the deep blue.
Grumbling to himself that the girls are just too reckless, and how can he protect their pretty little forms when they go do daft things (that are his natural inclination). He decides to climb down protecting their treasure, rather than enjoy the thrill of a dive.

Lhinneth Silvertide |

Lhinneth's body plummets into the troubled waters with barely a splash, followed only a couple heartbeats later by Serenna.
She swiftly swims her way to the boat where she watches Arven's descent along with his precious payload. "Well, it looks like we did it. Now, let's beat it before Besmara's wrathful gaze falls upon us" she proudly, yet cautiously states once the five of them are once again re-united. "I say we all celebrate tonight. Almost all, that is. I mean, the deck is not going to scrub itself, is it, Serenna?" she playfully teases.
Barring additional combat events or the like, I believe we can make our way back to the Magpie Princess and report to Captain Lanteri right?
