Unafe nods. "And I'll be working to create a permanent protection for the Moaning Diamond. And seeing if, perhaps, Li'an's idea to see if we can end the suffering that the Diamond prison causes to the Crystaline Queen, even if we can't actually free her.

"Speaking of which, if we've got a plan in place, I'm going to the Lodge and see if I can speak to Valais. Would you care to join me, while you wait for your power to replenish?"

Alone or with whoever wants to come along, after the plans are set, Unafe will go visit Valais

"I have considered it," Ehren admits, having expected the possibility of regenerating his eye to come up. As Li'an said, such magic was within their reach, if not their power. "But I think I will leave it be, at least for now." He smiles lopsidedly. "That said, if I lose the other one, by all means, please drag me to Nerosyan if you have to."

When Unafe mentions wanting to visit Valais and invites them to join her, Ehren jumps at the opportunity. "I'll come along since we have the time. I doubt we will face the siabrae again any time soon, but I would like to learn more about them. Since the menhir within the Stonewilds are beyond my reach, perhaps the Pathfinder Society will know something."

Myrna and Beatrix show up together to the meeting, and watch while the rest of the group quickly decide that their next step is a meeting with a Valais about the Plane of Fire and the siabrae they had met. "Hold on," she interjects, "Why are we focusing so hard on this siabrae situation? We aren't going to go back in there if we can help it, right?"

She shrugs. "Well, perhaps we just meet again later. You said your magic will restore in the early afternoon, Li'an? How about we meet in four hours to send and scry your friend Arie. We can retrieve her with a bit of communication."

"I never met this "Rue", so I can't communicate with her via sending. Beatrix and I can craft a scroll together, but it won't be done until tomorrow. Why did she go off scouting without even telling us where she was going?" She sighs, frustrated.

"So, we're going to meet Rue and go to the Ivory Labyrinth as soon as we can make contact, and we need a scroll to make contact... so I think Beatrix and I will go to the library and craft a scroll. We'll put in a half-day of work. You can meet us in the Keep when it's time to send and scry, if you want."

Lieutenant Medici gives a short bow to the Archdruid and his friends at the meeting. "I am happy to provide my magic to help you contact and rescue your friend, Li'an," she says, her voice official and polite.

"I have prepared three sending spells today, just in case. Captain Riversoar and I will spend one at the scriptorium in the crafting of a scroll."

Beatrix's spells are updated for today.

Myrna and Beatrix have between them sending and Scribe Scroll, so can spend 350gp of scribing supplies to craft a scroll of sending. It will take all day to do so, but I don't believe either one of them needs to come on the rescue Arie mission, and I don't believe we plan to pursue Rue today.

"I can cast sending directly without a scroll today, I just can only do it once today, and would need someone else to scry," she says, reassuring Myrna. "Rue went ahead as she's quite a powerful adventurer in her own right, one blessed directly by Desna. She nearly killed a Derakni outright with a volley of arrows during the fight at the tower. I think it's worthwhile to craft a scroll of sending either way, as it could come in quite handy in the future."

Automating Hinagiku.

Time passes: 1 hour.

Hinagiku moves gracefully around the group, distributing bowls of the hearty mushroom soup. As she serves the soup, her serene eyes meet each of her comrades in turn, offering a comforting presence that belies the early morning chill.

As the discussion wanes and the group begins to break up, moving toward their tasks, Hinagiku delivers one last piece of advice, "As we prepare for the challenges ahead, let us remember the balance necessary between action and reflection. My mentor, Kuso Jijii, always said that true strength lies in understanding our own limitations and the needs of those we serve."

Yulin, meanwhile, sits against the wall some distance away from the visitors. The young half-invidiak occupies herself in a subtle exercise of her shadow conjuration abilities. With a focused expression, she manipulates the shadows around her, crafting them into simple shapes: small birds that flutter briefly before dissolving back into shadows.

The others leave, while Hinagiku stays back with Yulin.

Hinagiku:

Kneeling down beside Yulin to meet her at eye level, Hinagiku speaks softly, her voice warm and encouraging. "Yulin, your mastery over the shadows is truly impressive. It's clear you have a deep connection with your powers. How do you feel when you shape them like this?"

Yulin pauses her shadow crafting, turning to face Hinagiku with a look of contemplation. Her red eyes soften slightly as she considers the question. She takes a deep breath, and her voice is a bit hesitant as she replies.

"It feels... powerful, but also a little scary," Yulin admits, her fingers idly stirring the air, causing the shadows to dance lightly around her hands. "I like making things, making them move. It’s like having a secret part of the world that only I can touch. But sometimes, I worry that it's too dark, too much like the demons."

She glances up at Hinagiku, seeking reassurance. "I want to use it for good, like helping and protecting, not scaring people or being like... them," she adds, her voice dropping slightly at the end.

Myrna, Beatrix:

After the meeting concludes, Myrna and Beatrix gather their belongings and prepare for the trek to Citadel Drezen, the central hub for Crusader military operations in the city.

The walk to Citadel Drezen is brisk and purposeful under the cold, clear skies of Drezen. The city itself is a blend of military fortifications and restored civic structures, all shadowed by the immense walls of the rebuilt citadel. As they pass through the bustling streets, they encounter soldiers and scholars alike, going about their daily routines.

Upon entering the citadel, Myrna and Beatrix make their way directly to the scriptorium, a vaulted chamber filled with rows of wooden desks and shelves laden with scrolls and books. The scriptorium is quiet, with only the soft rustling of pages and the occasional clink of ink bottles breaking the silence. Here, scholars and scribes work diligently on translating ancient texts, copying legal documents, and crafting magical scrolls.

Lieutenant Medici and Captain Riversoar arrange the necessary materials for the scroll crafting. The components for the scroll are laid out on a large oak table: vellum, specially prepared inks, and various arcane powders that glitter subtly in the light streaming through the high windows.

Beatrix immediately sets to work, consulting a thick tome for the precise incantations needed while Myrna arranges the physical components in the exact layout prescribed by arcane tradition. The process is meticulous, with each symbol and word of power needing to be perfectly replicated to ensure the scroll's effectiveness.

As they work, Myrna and Beatrix occasionally exchange words, discussing the potential challenges they might face in contacting Rue and the strategic considerations of their upcoming journey to the Ivory Sanctum. The next hour passes in a blend of silent concentration and soft discussions, with the air in the scriptorium thick with the scent of magic and ink. As they finish the initial preparations, the first drafts of the scroll begin to take shape, promising a new connection and potential rescue for Val's distant friend.

Unafe, Ehren, and Li'an approach the stately mansion that serves as the Pathfinder Lodge in Drezen. The grand edifice stands resolute against the backdrop of a sunny sky. As they enter the lodge, they are greeted by the warm glow of lanterns hanging from the high ceilings, casting soft shadows that dance along walls adorned with tapestries depicting various Pathfinder exploits. The air is filled with the subtle scent of old books and polished wood.

They make their way through the grand hall, their footsteps echoing softly on the marble floor, toward the private office of Valais Durant. The door to her office is ornately carved with symbols of the Radiant Oath—open hands radiating light—reflecting her commitment to nurturing goodness and aiding those harmed by evil.

Inside, bookshelves line the walls, filled with ancient tomes and scrolls, while her desk, a large, sturdy piece of oak, holds various texts currently under study. Light streams in through a large window behind the desk, illuminating her figure. Valais Durant, an aasimar, stands as they enter, her appearance strikingly ethereal. Her transformation has left her with golden features that shimmer with a subtle celestial glow. She wears a simple yet elegant robe that rustles as she approaches to greet them.

"Welcome, friends," Valais greets them. "Please, have a seat."

Her office is a space that reflects her dual nature of scholar and guardian. One wall displays a variety of weapons—holy symbols and texts interspersed among them—while another holds a beautiful, hand-painted mural of the Celestial Realms. As they settle into the chairs provided, Valais returns to her desk. "What is it that you need?"

Valais listens intently to Unafe. Upon Unafe’s request for secrecy, she nods solemnly. "Your secrets are safe with me, Unafe. You have my oath on that."

As Unafe unfolds the tale of the Crystal Queen and the Moaning Diamond, Valais' interest visibly deepens. She leans forward, her scholarly instincts engaged by the challenge presented. "A fascinating and noble endeavor," she muses thoughtfully. "The Purity Forge is a potent tool, one that could indeed be key in alleviating the goddess' suffering. However, modifying such ancient magics will require careful study and perhaps some unorthodox approaches."

Valais stands and moves to her shelves, pulling down several dusty tomes that seem to hum with latent energy. "We'll need to explore both arcane and divine texts. The interplay between these spheres will be crucial in understanding the Moaning Diamond's enchantments and the nature of the prison that binds the Crystal Queen."

When Unafe reveals the moaning gem, pulling it from her Dreamspace, Valais handles it with a reverence that bespeaks her respect for its power and plight. She examines the gem closely, her fingers tracing the intricate lattice of its structure.

"This is truly a piece of profound suffering and equally profound magic," she remarks, her voice tinged with awe. "I will need to study this further, conduct some tests perhaps, but rest assured, I am committed to helping you. This project could have significant implications, not just for the Crystal Queen, but for our understanding of magical bindings and divine afflictions."

Valais pauses, her gaze shifting back to Unafe. "The risks, of course, are non-trivial. We could potentially provoke the ire of those who crafted this prison, or worse, inadvertently exacerbate the Queen's suffering. We must tread carefully."

She sets the gem down gently on a cloth of silken cloth, already absorbed in thought. "Give me at least a week to delve into these texts and consult some contacts who specialize in divine enchantments and curses. I believe together, we can devise a strategy not just to shield this gem from prying eyes but to seek a true alleviation of the Crystal Queen's torment."

Unafe:

As Unafe hands over the Moaning Diamond, Goryon, the ancient crystalline dragon who resides within her as a second heart, stirs.

"Unafe, beth wyt ti'n ei wneud? Mae'r gem honno'n amgáu ein Brenhines a'n Duwies, Sairazul, ac rwyt ti newydd ei rhoi i ryw farwol? Gallai dy weithredoedd yma gael canlyniadau difrifol. Eglura dy hun."

Hallit: "Unafe, what are you doing? That gem encases our Queen and Goddess, Sairazul, and you just handed it over to some mortal? Your actions here could have severe repercussions. Explain yourself."

Auraelia:

Joren grumbles in response, his tail flicking more agitatedly. The confining space seems to close in even further around him, heightening his restlessness. Gaiwan's prayers intensify, perhaps sensing the growing despair in the air. He shifts to a chant, a plea for strength and guidance from Pulura, his voice rising slightly in volume, filling the space with a sense of solemnity and purpose.

As another hour ticks by, the trio settle into a reluctant wait. Gaiwan's condition visibly deteriorates, the lack of water taking its toll, his skin growing pallid and his lips cracking. No longer praying, he simply leans against the wall, half-conscious.

Unafe’s willingness to divulge the Moaning Diamond to Valais surprises Ehren, but he raises no objections. As the rightful custodian of Sairazul’s prison, it was up to her to decide how to protect the Crystalline Queen best. Still, he doubts Goryon would be very happy with her chosen course of action. The dragon had no reason to trust Valais - she did not even trust them, who helped reclaim the artifact in the first place. The archdruid frowns, having already concluded that maintaining good relations with the Demetae would entail somehow earning that trust.

Ehren is content to let Li’an present her topic of interest as well. Having already heard the details of the sorceress’s vision, he found its similar connection to an Elemental Plane and a gemstone very peculiar. Could it be a coincidence? Their track record with such things made that seem unlikely. He waits until the matter is settled for the time being before bringing up his reason for being there.

“As much as it pains me to add to your burdens, Valais, there is a favor I would ask of the Society,” he starts, shifting in his seat. “You might recall that Xander authorized an expedition into the Petrified Library some years ago. My understanding is that numerous druidic relics were recovered. Setting aside the matter of their proper ownership, I would like to see those relics myself or at least glean the research of those who studied them, if possible. There is a threat within the Stonewilds that I must learn more about."

On shadows:

”It is wise of you not to take power lightly. Without control and understanding, power can be dangerous.” Hinagiku says in her usual calm and gentle tone.

”As for shadows and darkness…hummm… I believe the wise would say not to fear or hate the shadows and darkness. They follow everything and everyone, help us see better than light would be. Have you ever noticed that valleys and peaks of faroff hills are better seen when shadows stir through them than in the bright light? That the small details of bricks are better seen when shadows dance on them? My shadow has followed me all my life, probably my longest companion. But still, people fear darkness don’t they? I think the wise would say that it is not the shadows or darkness that people fear, but those hiding within, using them to creep closer to people to harm them. Those who see through the dark do not fear it.”

”Is that what you meant? Or do you feel there is something darker when you play with your powers?”

Auraelia:

Gaiwan, his lips dry and cracked, looks at Auraelia with weary eyes. The fervor in his prayers falters as he listens to her words, feeling the weight of her sincerity and the truth behind her plea. He knows that the deity he prays to has not led him this far to abandon him now. With a slow, deliberate movement, he reaches out and takes the strained water from her hands.

He nods weakly, his voice hoarse but grateful. "Thank you, Auraelia. Pulura's light shines through your kindness." With a visible effort, he drinks the water, wincing slightly at the taste but knowing it is necessary for his survival.

Unafe:

Unafe's second heart presence pulses with discontent.

"Cynghreiriaid dibynadwy? A ydych chi mor siŵr o’u dibynadwyedd? Nid wyf yn cymryd yn ysgafn y syniad o amlygu Sairazul i eraill, waeth faint rydych chi’n eu hystyried yn ddibynadwy. Mae hwn yn fater o bwysigrwydd mawr, un sy’n mynnu cyfrinachedd a diogelwch mwyaf."

"Dychymdydd neu beidio, mae’r syniad o gynnwys mwy o unigolion yn llawn perygl. Mae’n rhaid i chi sylweddoli nad oes gan eich cynghreiriaid, er mor dda eu bwriad, yr un ddealltwriaeth nac ystyriaeth o arwyddocâd y berl. Nid oes gan eich cynnig y rhagofalon angenrheidiol ar gyfer mater mor dyner."

Hallit: "Dreamspace, or not, the notion of involving more individuals is fraught with danger. You must realize that your allies, however well-meaning, do not possess the same understanding or reverence for the gem’s significance. Your proposal lacks the caution required for such a delicate matter."

Venture-Captain Valais nods thoughtfully, taking note of Li'an's request. "We have a well-stocked library here, including texts on various planes. I’m sure we can find some valuable information for you. Come back tomorrow, I will see what we can do."

Li'an carefully lays out the items she wants appraised, starting with an exquisitely crafted pendant. Its shape, reminiscent of Desna's favorite symbol, the butterfly, and the quality of the opal itself suggest that this piece was of great significance, likely worn by someone deeply devoted to Desna.

Valais examines the pendant, considering its historical and religious significance. "I'd guess this pendant to be worth around 300 gold pieces, though its true value could be much higher to the right buyer given its craftsmanship and connection to Desna."

Valais examines the Desnan Ritual Dancing Chimes closely, noting the intricate symbols and the aura of enchantment surrounding them. She then turns to Li'an with a thoughtful expression.

"These chimes are quite remarkable, Li'an. Based on their abilities, I'd estimate their value at approximately 9,600 gold pieces."

Valais carefully examines Jaruunicka's dagger, noting its large size and the sinister aura it exudes. After a moment of focused scrutiny, she looks up at Li'an, ready to share her appraisal. It has the unique ability to store one curse spell at a time, which will discharge upon a successful attack.

She pauses, considering the implications of such an enchantment. "I'd estimate its value at approximately 3,000 gold pieces. As it is, it is a little too large for most people to use comfortably."

Valais examines the Crystal Pendant of Minor Fortune with keen interest, her fingers gently tracing the contours of the crystal. After a moment, she nods in appreciation of its subtle yet significant enchantment. Considering the market value, Valais continues, "Given its enchantment, the value of this pendant would typically be around 1,000 gold pieces. It would make a good gift for a child."

Valais takes the parchment covered with profane symbols and studies it intently. Her eyes narrow as she traces the intricate, dark runes and the partially completed spellwork.

"Li'an, this parchment is a half-complete scroll of Unhallow," she explains, her voice reflecting the gravity of the discovery. "Unhallow is a powerful and malevolent spell, typically used to desecrate an area and imbue it with negative energies. Completing this scroll would indeed be very expensive and challenging, requiring both significant resources and expertise in dark magic. I do not think you could find a buyer in Mendev for such a thing, you should have it destroyed."

Valais takes the thin leather-bound tome and examines it with meticulous care. Her eyes narrow as she deciphers the arcane symbols and complex notations within its pages. "This tome is quite fascinating, Li'an," Valais remarks, her tone tinged with admiration for the craftsmanship and depth of the text. "It appears to be an arcane manual that provides profound insights into magical lore and writings."

Li'an:

Studying this tome uninterrupted for 8 hours grants a +5 competence bonus on Knowledge (Arcana) checks for 24 hours. This bonus is doubled for anyone attempting to decipher or understand magical writings or arcane lore.

Valais listens attentively to Ehren, her violet eyes reflecting the depth of her consideration. "I remember the expedition well, Ehren," she says, her voice thoughtful. "The artifacts recovered were indeed significant, and the research conducted on them was extensive. Given the threat you describe, it is imperative that we provide you with any information that could aid your efforts."

"I believe those relics were sent to Absalom for further study. I will make arrangements for their return, but for now I can at least retrieve the research notes. The Society's resources are at your disposal, and I trust that your insights will be invaluable in understanding the danger that looms in the Stonewilds. Come back tomorrow, and you can pick them up here."

Hinagiku:

Yulin looks down at her hands, the shadows still swirling softly around her fingers. She hesitates before speaking, her voice barely above a whisper. "It's not just the shadows. It's... the feelings. Sometimes, I feel this envy, this need to be better, stronger, than everyone around me. It's like a whisper that wants me to use my powers to hurt, to take what others have. I try to push it away, but it's always there, lurking."

Her red eyes meet Hinagiku's. "I don't want to be like that. I want to be good, to help. But sometimes, it feels so strong, like it's a part of me I can't control."

Hallit: "Goryon, without Valais' help, there's a good chance I'd be dead on Apostae’s Tear, and the Moaning Diamond in Ayrzul's hands."

Unafe shares her memories of Valais helping her understand when to expect Apostae's Tear to come.

Kiora wrote:

Earlier today, when Unafe had traveled to Drezen in response to Irabeth's summons, she had the opportunity to speak to an excited and glowing Valais. Valais informed her that she had learned of upcoming day-time comet... a comet known as Apostae's Tear, which passes by Golarion every 56 years.

This means it is scheduled to pass by Golarion.... just next week! And not just that, if Valais' source is right, the comet will be close enough to Golarion that it should be visible even during the day.... something has never happened before in recorded history of observances of Apostae's Tear.

"Heb ei chymorth, byddwn wedi cael fy nal yn anymwybodol pan wnaethoch chi ailddeffro. Pe na bawn i'n gwybod pryd i fod yn barod, ac felly wedi paratoi fy nghymdeithion i fod gerllaw, mae'r ddau ohonom yn gwybod y byddai Sairazul yn nwylo Ayrzul ar hyn o bryd.

"Ymhellach, mae hi'n un o ychydig iawn o bobl sy'n gwybod bodolaeth mitral yn nyffryn Taranau, gan ei bod hi gyda mi pan ddychwelais yno gyntaf, a'm cynorthwyodd i ryddhau ein claniaid rhag arweinyddiaeth lygredig dan ddylanwad y cythraul. Gallai geisio i elwa o'r wybodaeth honno ond mae hi wedi profi'n ddibynadwy.

"Ydy ymddiried mewn pobl yn risg? Wrth gwrs, ond gwn eich bod wedi gweld hynny heb ymddiried yn fy nghynghreiriaid, byddwn wedi marw a byddai'r Frenhines Grisialog yn nwylo Ayrzul. Gofynnaf ichi ymddiried ynof fi ac yn fy marniad yma, fod y risg o'i chynnwys yn llai na'r risg o beidio â derbyn cymorth mewn ymdrech hollbwysig."

Hallit: "You see: without her aid, I would've been caught unawares when you reawakened. If I hadn't known when to be ready, and so prepared my companions to be nearby, I could've been alone with no means to call for their support...and we both know that I would have failed alone, up on that comet.

"Furthermore, Valais is one of a very few people who knows of the existence of mithral in the Taranau valley, as she was with me when I first returned there, and helped me to liberate our clanspeople from corrupt demon-influenced leadership. She could try to profit from that knowledge but instead she has proven trustworthy.

"Is trusting people a risk? Of course, but I know you've seen that without trusting my allies, I'd be dead and the Crystalline Queen would be in Ayrzul's hands. I'll ask you to trust me and my judgement here, that the risk of including her is less than the risk of not accepting aid in a crucial endeavor."

Trying to guide Yulin:

”I see. That is more complicated… but sharing in your struggles is key to improving. Alone, things are more difficult, but together with others it is possible to find ways and strength that you never thought about. Faith is one way to draw great strength and help, following the teachings of the Master of masters allowed me to go from flower arranger to a fighter, so many people in Drezen follow Ary’s exemple and are better for it. Finding a path that is centered around helping others rather than directing them can also be helpful. Just like you did yesterday when you thoughtfully prepared things for Ehren-kun. When you put great dedication into something, it becomes important, a goal, and the more you follow a goal, the more it guides. So, if you choose to follow a humble path to help others, it should help you. One last thing is to know yourself and how to manage your emotions, mind, and desire. But, this is complicated and requires practice. It is what has allowed me to remain calm through all the hardships that I have lived since I came to Mendev. But, this is a lot to think about… what about we get together every night I am here and I can show you these technique? We could also visit brother Sosiel’s church to meet people of different faith, or speak with Ehren-kun about the Green. What do you think?“ as she finishes, Hinagiku looks at Yulin, trying to figure out whether she has answered the girl’s worries.

"Ah, that," Ehren remarks, having forgotten that they have been hauling around the drake head that Unafe tore off a few days ago. The druid looks it over, surprised by how well she preserved it, given all they have been through. Rift drakes were hardly legendary creatures, but even their unliving flesh contained echoes of their power. The swatch of forest drake leather in his pouch is just the same - with a bit of spellcraft, wondrous powers can be drawn from the seemingly mundane. "I suppose the skull could be fashioned into a helm, perhaps one that evokes the drake's speed and ferocity. The teeth, on the other hand, would make a fine amulet. Rift drakes are aligned with the earth element, so turning them into proof against acid would not be infeasible."

Looking back to Valais, Ehren smiles broadly. "You have my thanks, Venture-Captain. I will be sure to return tomorrow. And if I can return the favor somehow, please let me know."

Still mostly lost in her own internal dreamspace, Unafe is present enough to notice the conversation about the drake's skull.

"Rhys, son of Owen, showed me how to harvest and preserve it, so that it could be turned into a totem that grants protection from dragons...though at my level of skill, its protection would fade after a day. I'm open to other uses as well."

Li'an:

The Glöyn Pendant would be valued at a total of 2,500 gold pieces.

Hinagiku:

Yulin considers Hinagiku's words, her expression slowly shifting from anxiety to a tentative hope. "I'd like that, Hinagiku. I think it would help... a lot. Thank you."

Hinagiku:

Hinagiku reflects on her extensive knowledge of various faiths and meditation practices, seeking the most fitting paths for Yulin.

Irori, Master of Masters: Irori's teachings emphasize self-perfection and mastery over one's mind and body. His followers practice meditation and discipline to achieve inner peace and control. This path could help Yulin manage her emotions and desires, teaching her to use her powers with intention and balance.

Desna, Goddess of Dreams: Desna's focus on freedom, dreams, and travel aligns well with Yulin's desire to use her powers for good and to protect others. Desna's teachings could provide Yulin with a sense of hope and purpose, encouraging her to embrace her unique abilities as gifts rather than burdens.

Shelyn, Goddess of Love and Beauty: Shelyn's faith revolves around the appreciation of beauty and love in all forms. Her followers seek to bring joy and harmony to the world. This path could help Yulin see the beauty in her powers and use them to create and protect rather than destroy.

Gozreh, God of Nature: As a deity of nature, Gozreh represents the balance between the elements and the cycle of life. His teachings could help Yulin connect with the natural world, finding peace and harmony in the balance of nature. This path might resonate with her druidic training and offer a grounding influence.

Nethys, God of Magic: Nethys's dualistic nature represents both the destructive and protective aspects of magic. His faith acknowledges the potential for both harm and healing in magic, offering a nuanced perspective that could help Yulin understand and control her powers.

Erastil, God of Community: Erastil emphasizes the importance of family, community, and simple living. His followers work to support and protect their communities, which could provide Yulin with a sense of belonging and purpose, helping her focus her abilities on helping those around her.

Unafe:

Goryon is haughty and dismissive. "Ymddiriedaeth? Rwyt ti’n siarad am ymddiriedaeth fel petai’n nwydd syml, Unafe. Efallai fod Valais wedi dy gynorthwyo yn y gorffennol, ond nid yw hynny’n rhoi anffaeledigrwydd iddi yn y mater hwn. Mae’r berl hon yn dal ein duwies—mae ei harwyddocâd y tu hwnt i ddealltwriaeth farwol. Mae dy hyder yn Valais yn deimladwy, ond yn naïf. Mae canlyniadau un camgymeriad yn rhy fawr. Symud ymlaen gyda gofal eithafol, neu fe allech chi ddod o hyd i'ch ymddiriedaeth wedi'i chwalu a dioddefaint ein duwies wedi’i ymestyn."

Hallit: "Trust? You speak of trust as if it is a simple commodity, Unafe. Valais may have aided you in the past, but that does not grant her infallibility in this matter. This gem holds our goddess—its significance is beyond mortal comprehension. Your confidence in Valais is touching, but naive. The consequences of a single misstep are too great. Proceed with extreme caution, or you may find your trust shattered and our goddess' suffering prolonged."

Meditation with Yulin:

[b]”Why don’t we get started now then? I can show you an exercise that will help you when you feel this need for power, or any thought that is not good. Let’s first clean up everything here and then head inside.”[\b]

[b]”ok, so we can sit like this. We close our eyes and then let listen to everything, feel everything. Do not focus on any one sound or sensation. If you catch yourself doing so, simply come back to the present and the whole of what you feel. Same thing with thoughts, if one comes, just let it slide and refocus on everything.”[\b]

[b]”It will take time but with practice you can use that technique to not focus on unwanted desires. But be careful, this is not about ignoring those or forcing them down, it is about not letting themget a hold of your mind and consume you.”[\b]

Time passes: 1 hour.

Hinagiku:

Yulin follows Hinagiku’s example, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. The room fills with a serene silence, punctuated only by the gentle sounds of their breathing and the distant hum of activity on Paradise Hill outside.

However, Yulin struggles to keep her mind from wandering. Her thoughts dart from one to another: the envy she feels, the powers she possesses, the fear of losing control. She fidgets, her fingers tapping restlessly against her knees.

"It's hard," Yulin whispers after a few minutes, frustrated. "I can't stop thinking. It's like my mind won't stay still."

Once he has concluded his business at the Pathfinder Lodge, Ehren eyes the sun, realizing that he still has a few hours before he would have to meet up with the others again. Eager to stay busy and to make up for lost time, the archdruid decides to seek out Ailig and Isbeyl, the city's two appointed magisters of Kellid affairs. If any issues have arisen during his absence, they would surely know of them. Apart from his duties to the Green, he was still a spiritual leader of his people. He would not abandon them and cast away his humanity as Auzmezar did.

Unafe takes a deep breath before responding.

"Rwy'n siarad am ymddiried yng ngwerthoedd Valais, na fydd hi'n bradychu Sairazul yn fwriadol. Wedi dweud hynny, rwy'n cytuno bod risg fawr os byddwn yn symud ymlaen i geisio lleddfu poen Sairazul. "Rydych wedi ei gwarchod ers oesoedd, a byddwch yn rhan o unrhyw benderfyniad i weithredu, neu i beidio â gweithredu. Hallit: "I speak of trusting Valais' values, that she won't betray Sairazul intentionally. That said, I agree there's great risk if we proceed in trying to ameliorate Sairazul's pain. Valais does too. She just said, 'We could potentially provoke the ire of those who crafted this prison, or worse, inadvertently exacerbate the Queen's suffering. We must tread carefully.'

"You've guarded her for ages, and you will be part of any decision to act, or not to act. My inclination is to investigate a way forward–as you've previously expressed interest in, when I raised it–but if you think it's too dangerous to even investigate, let's not. Otherwise, know that if she (or we collectively) learn of a means to attempt this, I promise that we won't meddle with the prison in any way without your explicit agreement.

"Given that, do you agree it's worth the risk of looking to my trusted ally to help us learn more? If not, I'll let her know to forget the matter."

WotR Global Buffs/Debuffs: ----

Hinagiku:

As Hinagiku takes Yulin's hands, she glimpses into Yulin's essence. She sees a swirling maelstrom of dark and light, representing Yulin's struggle with her demonic heritage and her innate goodness. The shadows are deep and tumultuous, whispering of envy and power. However, amidst the darkness, threads of brilliant light shimmer: Yulin's desire to help others and her capacity for compassion. Hinagiku also perceives flashes of Yulin's memories and emotions: moments of joy, fear, and a longing for acceptance.

Yulin closes her eyes, gripping Hinagiku's hands tightly at first, then gradually relaxing. She focuses on the sensations Hinagiku described: the warmth of the ground beneath her, the distant crackling of a fire, the gentle breeze on her skin. Her chaotic thoughts still swirl, but she tries to follow Hinagiku's guidance, letting them pass without clinging to them.

Minutes pass, and Yulin finds herself able to hold onto the calm a bit longer each time before a thought intrudes. Each time she brings her focus back, she feels a little more in control, a little more at peace.

Yulin opens her eyes, a faint smile on her lips. "Thank you, Hinagiku. I think... I think I can do this, with practice."

Hinagiku proposes making some herbal tea and simple snacks. She shows Yulin how to brew the tea that she had brought back from her last trip to Minkai, explaining the calming effects of each plant they use. As the tea steeps, they prepare a light meal, slicing Heartwood fruit and arranging them on a platter with nuts and cheese. Yulin seems to relax, her earlier tension easing away.

After their meal, Hinagiku suggests they tidy up the living space. They sweep the floors, dust the shelves, and organize the items scattered around the room. By the time they finish, the space feels fresh and welcoming. Hinagiku and Yulin sit down together, enjoying the fruits of their labor with a sense of accomplishment. They share stories and laugh.

Unafe:

Goryon’s presence intensifies in Unafe’s mind.

"Unafe, rydych chi'n siarad am ymddiriedaeth a gwerthoedd, ond deall hyn: mae'r fantol yn rhy uchel i ni ddibynnu ar fwriadau'n unig. Nid yw lles Sairazul yn rhywbeth y dylem ei gymryd yn ysgafn. Efallai fod Valais yn ddidwyll, ond nid yw ei dealltwriaeth o arwyddocâd gwirioneddol y berl yn ddigonol. Nid yw hwn yn fater ar gyfer arbrofi neu obeithion gobeithiol."

Hallit: "Unafe, you speak of trust and values, but understand this: the stakes are far too high for us to rely on mere intentions. Sairazul’s well-being is not something I take lightly, nor should you. Valais may be well-meaning, but her understanding of the gem’s true significance is insufficient. This is not a matter for experimentation or hopeful optimism."

Her voice grows colder, more commanding.

"Rwyf wedi gwarchod Sairazul ers oesoedd, ac ni fyddaf yn caniatáu iddi gael ei rhoi i risg pellach. Mae’r syniad o gynnwys eraill, waeth pa mor ymddiriedol, yn llawn perygl. Rhaid i’r berl aros o dan ein hamddiffyniad cyson, heb ymyrraeth gan rai nad ydynt yn gallu deall difrifoldeb llawn y sefyllfa."

Hallit: "I have guarded Sairazul for ages, and I will not permit her to be subjected to further risk. The mere notion of involving others, no matter how trusted, is fraught with peril. The gem must remain under our constant protection, without the interference of outsiders who cannot possibly grasp the full gravity of the situation."

"Mae ymchwilio i atebion posibl yn un peth, ond ni fydd y berl yn gadael ein golwg, ac ni ddylid ymyrryd â dioddefaint Sairazul yn ysgafn. Os ydych chi’n mynnu dilyn y cwrs hwn, byddwch chi’n gwneud hynny gyda’r dealltwriaeth bod yn rhaid i unrhyw gamau a gymerir gael fy nghymeradwyaeth benodol. Ni fydd unrhyw eithriadau."

Hallit: "Investigating potential solutions is one thing, but the gem does not leave our sight, and Sairazul’s suffering is not to be tampered with lightly. If you insist on pursuing this course, you will do so with the understanding that any action taken must have my explicit approval. There will be no exceptions."

"Rwy’n disgwyl i chi gyfleu hyn i Valais. Rhaid i’r berl aros gyda ni, bob amser. Rhaid i unrhyw ymchwil neu archwiliad gael ei gynnal gyda’r cyfrinachedd a’r gofal mwyaf, o dan ein goruchwyliaeth uniongyrchol. Nid yw hwn yn fater ar gyfer negodi. A yw hynny'n glir?"

Hallit: "I expect you to convey this to Valais. The gem remains with us, always. Any research or exploration must be conducted with the utmost secrecy and care, under our direct supervision. This is not a matter for negotiation. Is that understood?"

Ehren:

As he walks through the bustling streets of Drezen, the air is alive with the chatter of merchants, the clang of blacksmiths at work, and the laughter of children playing. Despite the ever-present shadow of war, life here is vibrant and resilient.

Ehren makes his way to the quarters assigned to Ailig and Isbeyl. The round building is modest yet sturdy, a reflection of the Kellid way—practical and enduring. As he approaches, he sees Ailig outside, chopping wood with powerful, precise strokes. The burly, bearded Sarkorian warrior looks up, his face breaking into a broad grin as he spots Ehren.

"Ehren!" Ailig calls out, setting down his axe. "Mae'n dda dy weld di, Archdruid. Tyrd, ymun â ni."

Hallit: "Ehren! It's good to see you, Archdruid. Come, join us."

He steps forward, clasping Ehren’s forearm tightly, in a traditional greeting. Coming close, he notices Ehren's missing eye. His expression shifts to one of concern. "Ehren, mae dy lygad ar goll. Beth ddigwyddodd? Wyt ti'n iawn?"

Hallit: "Ehren, your eye is missing. What happened? Are you alright?"

Ailig:
“Ailig,” Ehren replies with a grin, giving the older Kellid’s forearm a firm squeeze. “Mae wedi bod yn rhy hir.”

Hallit: “Ailig. It has been too long.”

Despite preparing for the inevitable, Ehren’s smile falters when Ailig points out his missing eye. With a sigh, he explains the loss in brief. “Clwyf o frwydr ddiweddar. Cymerais gam yn ddiofal, a thalais y pris. Nid yw’n fy mhoeni mwyach, ond mae’n parhau i fod yn rhwystr.” Sheepishly, he adds, “Ond yn fwy na dim, mae’n ergyd i’m balchder. Ni allwn hawlio buddugoliaeth.”

Hallit: “A wound from a recent battle. I took careless action and paid the price. It no longer pains me, but it remains a hindrance. But more than anything, it is a blow to my pride. I could not claim victory.”

With that initial awkwardness out of the way, Ehren moves on to the reason for his visit. "Sut hwyl mae pethau yn Drezen? Mae dyletswydd wedi fy atal yn aml yn ddiweddar, ond fel erioed, rwy’n ofni nad wyf wedi cwrdd ag anghenion ein pobl.”

Hallit: “How have things fared in Drezen? Duty has beckoned me away often of late, but as ever, I fear I have not met the needs of our people.”

Ehren:

Ailig’s expression softens with understanding as he listens to Ehren’s explanation. He gives Ehren a reassuring pat on the shoulder.

“Ehren, nid oes rhaid i ti deimlo cywilydd. Mae colli llygad yn arwydd o dy ddewrder a’th ymroddiad i’n pobl. Fe wnest ti beth roedd rhaid ei wneud i’n hamddiffyn ni.”

Hallit: “Ehren, you should not feel ashamed. This is a sign of your bravery and dedication to our people. You did what had to be done to protect us.”

Ailig steps back slightly, his eyes meeting Ehren's with earnest respect. "Mae Drezen wedi goroesi, diolch i’th arweinyddiaeth di a chefnogaeth ddiwyro ein cynghreiriaid. Mae’r ddinas yn bennaf heddychlon, ond mae heriau’n parhau. Mae’r Kellidiaid o fewn y muriau, a ryddhawyd o gaethwasiaeth, angen dy sefydlogrwydd di. Mae dilynwyr Mother Heartwood a'r Demetae insiwlar angen diplomyddiaeth ofalus. Mae’r Kellidiaid yn Sesker's Gully, ar ymylon amddiffyniadau’r Sword of Valor, yn wynebu ymosodiadau cyson gan gythreuliaid ac angen atgyfnerthu."

Hallit: “We endure here in Drezen, thanks to your leadership and the unwavering support of our Crusader allies. The city is mostly peaceful, but challenges remain. The followers of Mother Heartwood and the insular Demetae have required careful diplomacy due to disputes. Those at Sesker's Gully, on the edge of the Sword of Valor's protection, face frequent demon attacks and are in need of reinforcement.

"Rydyn ni wedi llwyddo hyd yma, ond mae dy arweiniad di’n hanfodol. Mae dy ddoethineb a dy bresenoldeb unedig yn fwy angenrheidiol nag erioed.”

Hallit: "We’ve managed so far, but your guidance is crucial. Your wisdom and unifying presence are needed now more than ever.”

Goryon:
Unafe nods.

""Rwy'n falch eich bod wedi dewis cymryd y risg, a dydw i ddim yn ei gymryd yn ysgafn. Rwy'n gwybod bod baich ei diogelwch wedi bod ar eich ysgwyddau yn unig am fwy o amser nag y gallaf ei ddeall yn blwmp ac yn blaen.

“Efallai mai’r canlyniad mwyaf tebygol yw ein bod yn darganfod nad oes dim y gallwn ei wneud, neu y byddai actio yn ormod o risg, ond rwyf am i ni geisio.”"

Hallit: "I'm glad you've chosen to take the risk, and I don't take it lightly. I know the burden of her safety has been on your shoulders alone for more time than I can frankly comprehend.

"Perhaps the most likely outcome is that we find there is naught that we can do, or that acting would be too great a risk, but I want us to try."

After more than a minute of seemingly mumbling off into space, Unafe's half-closed eyes focus on Valais. "Pardon me, I was just talking with Goryon.

"Valais, I don't recall, do you understand Hallit? Or Terran or Draconic? I'd like to speak in a language that she understands, when we speak of the Moaning Diamond."

"Os ydym yn canfod nad oes modd ymyrryd yn ddiogel, rhaid inni dderbyn hynny. Ond os oes unrhyw obaith i leddfu dioddefaint Sairazul heb gynyddu’r perygl, rhaid inni roi cynnig arni.

Hallit: "If we find that intervention cannot be done safely, we must accept that. But if there is any hope to alleviate Sairazul's suffering without increasing the risk, we must attempt it."

Unafe, Li'an:

Valais smiles gently. "Yes, Clan-Liege, I do understand Hallit. Unfortunately, I do not speak Terran or Draconic. But Hallit will suffice for our purposes. I'm eager to learn more about the Moaning Diamond and to see how I can assist you and Goryon in this delicate matter."

Ailig:
Ehren's expression shifts from doubt and self-recrimination to gratitude and renewed resolve as he listens to Ailig's words. He places his hand over Ailig's on his shoulder, squeezing it briefly before letting go.

”Diolch, Ailig,” Ehren says, his voice steady but warm. ”Mae eich geiriau yn golygu llawer iawn i mi.”

Hallit: “Thank you, Ailig. Your words mean a great deal to me.”

Ehren draws in a deep breath, his lone eye sweeping over the city of Drezen. "Mae ein rhai ni wedi bod yn bobl ranedig erioed, hyd yn oed ymhell cyn i'r Worldwound gapio. “Mae ein rhai ni wedi bod yn bobl ranedig erioed, hyd yn oed ymhell cyn i'r Worldwound gapio. Wedi'r holl flynyddoedd hyn, mae'n amlwg nad yw gelyn cyffredin yn unig yn ddigon i uno ein pobl. Rydyn ni i gyd yn anrhydeddu'r hen ffyrdd, ond mae'n rhaid i ni ffurfio traddodiadau newydd gyda'n gilydd. Dyma’r unig ffordd y bydd y Kellid yn parhau i ddioddef.” His words, filled with a resolute determination, hang in the air.

Hallit: “Our people have long been divided, even before the Worldwound appeared. After all these years, it's clear that a common enemy alone isn't enough to unite us. We all respect our ancient customs, but we must also forge new traditions together. It's the only way for the Kellid to endure.”

The archdruid considers what he can do, knowing his time is limited. “Byddaf yn siarad ag Irabeth ac yn darganfod beth ellir ei wneud i gryfhau’r amddiffynfeydd yn Sesker Gully. Hoffwn hefyd weld mwy o ryfelwyr ein pobl yno, ond mae llawer o'r goreuon yn buddsoddi mwy mewn amddiffyn Gundrun. Sut gallaf eu darbwyllo mai ein un ni yw’r achos mwyaf gwerth chweil ar ôl i mi weld y treialon y mae’n rhaid iddynt eu goresgyn i mi fy hun?” Ehren pauses momentarily, turning back to face Ailig. “Mae Myrna o Clan Riversoar yn hanu o’r ardal honno ei hun. Ydych chi wedi cwrdd â hi eto? Mae cynifer o'n pobl yn ymladd dros y Crwsadau, ond ychydig a gyfarfyddais sydd yn anrhydeddu'r hen ffyrdd fel y mae hi. Fyddai dim ots gen i gael mwy o ryfelwyr fel hi ar ein hochr ni, ond fel rydw i wedi dysgu, mae hi'n hollol unigryw.”

Hallit: “I will speak to Irabeth and find out what can be done to bolster the defenses at Sesker Gully. I would also like to see more of our people’s warriors there, but many of the best are more invested in defending Gundrun. How can I convince them that ours is the more worthwhile cause when I have seen the trials they must overcome for myself?”

“Myrna of Clan Riversoar hails from that region herself. Have you met her yet? So many of our people fight for the Crusades, but I have met few who honor the old ways as she does. I would not mind having more warriors like her on our side, but as I have learned, she is wholly unique.”

Finally, Ehren sighed, realizing that he would have to leave Drezen again before long. Nonetheless, he puts on another smile. “Hoffwn pe gallwn fod yn fugail amser heddwch, ond dro ar ôl tro, rwy'n cael fy nhynnu i faes y gad. Eisoes, dim ond ychydig ddyddiau ar y mwyaf yr wyf yn rhagweld y byddaf yma cyn gadael eto. O'r diwedd, credaf y bydd calon y Temlwyr yn cael ei datgelu i ni. Ni fyddant mwyach yn baeddu'r ifanc a'r ffôl ymhlith y tylwythau â'u celwyddau.”

Hallit: “I wish I could be a shepherd of peacetime, but again and again, I am drawn to the field of battle. Already, I only anticipate being here a few days at most before departing again. At long last, I believe the heart of the Templars will be revealed to us. No longer will they befoul the young and foolish among the clans with their lies.”

Ehren:

Ailig listens attentively. He gives Ehren a firm, reassuring nod.

"Ehren, mae dy bresenoldeb a’th arweinyddiaeth bob amser yn dod ag ysbrydoliaeth i’n pobl. Rydych chi wedi cadw Drezen yn ddiogel ac wedi dod â gobaith i’r Kellidiaid o fewn y muriau. Er bod y rhyfeloedd yn anochel, y ffordd rydych chi'n ymdrin â'r heriau hyn sy'n gwneud gwahaniaeth."

Hallit: "Ehren, your presence and leadership always bring inspiration to our people. You have kept Drezen safe and brought hope to the Kellids within the walls. While the battles are inevitable, it is how you handle these challenges that makes a difference."

Ailig’s gaze turns more serious as he continues. "Bydd cryfhau’r amddiffynfeydd yn Sesker Gully yn anodd, ond mae’n hanfodol. Mae’r ardal honno ar y rheng flaen, ac mae angen ein cymorth arnynt yn fawr. O ran persuading mwy o’n rhyfelwyr i ymuno â’r frwydr yno, efallai y gallwn drefnu cyfarfod gyda chynrychiolwyr o bob llwyth i drafod y pwysigrwydd a dangos iddyn nhw’r hyn y mae ein pobl yn ei wynebu."

Hallit: "Strengthening the defenses at Sesker Gully will be difficult, but it is crucial. That area is on the front lines, and they need our support desperately. As for persuading more of our warriors to join the fight there, perhaps we can arrange a meeting with representatives from some of the larger clans to discuss the importance and show them what our people are facing."

He places a supportive hand on Ehren's shoulder, his grip strong and reassuring. "Myrna Riversoar yw un o'r goreuon. Bydd cael mwy o ryfelwyr fel hi yn fuddiol i ni i gyd. Byddaf yn gwneud fy ngorau i’w darbwyllo o bwysigrwydd yr hyn yr ydym yn ceisio’i gyflawni."

Hallit: "Myrna Riversoar sounds like a valuable ally. Having more warriors like her would benefit us all. I will do my best to convince them of the importance of what we are trying to achieve."

Ailig’s expression softens, and he gives Ehren a respectful nod. "Rwy'n deall y baich sy'n dod gyda'ch rôl, a bydd ein pobl bob amser yn ddiolchgar am eich arweinyddiaeth. Hyd yn oed os byddwch yn rhaid gadael eto, gwybod y byddwn ni yma, yn cadw ein pobl yn gryf ac yn barod. Gyda'n gilydd, gallwn ymladd ac ennill."

Hallit: "I understand the burden that comes with your role, and our people will always be grateful for your leadership. Even if you must leave again, know that we will be here, keeping our people strong and ready. Together, we can fight and prevail."

Looks like Unafe and Ehren's players are inactive so we will wrap these scenes up to move with the active players.

Time passes: 1 hour.

Ehren:

Ehren nods, absorbing Ailig’s words. He clasps Ailig's forearm once more.

“Diolch, Ailig. Mae dy gefnogaeth di’n golygu llawer i mi. Byddaf yn gwneud fy ngorau glas i gryfhau ein hamddiffynfeydd ac i ddwyn mwy o undod i’n pobl. Byddwn yn trefnu’r cyfarfod hwnnw gyda’r llwythau a dangos iddynt y gwirionedd.”

Hallit: "Thank you, Ailig. Your support means a great deal to me. I will do my utmost to strengthen our defenses and to bring more unity to our people. We will arrange that meeting with the clans and show them the truth."

Ailig smiles, pride in his eyes. "Rwy’n hyderus y byddwn yn gallu gwella sefyllfa Sesker Gully a dod â’r llwythau at ei gilydd fel erioed o’r blaen.”

Hallit: "I am confident that we can improve the situation at Sesker Gully and bring the clans together like never before."

Ehren takes a deep breath, thinking through what he must do next. “Rwy’n gwybod bod llawer o waith o’n blaenau, ond gyda dy help di a chymorth ein cynghreiriaid, gallwn ni ei gyflawni. Byddaf yn siarad ag Irabeth ar unwaith ac yn dechrau ar y gwaith sydd o’n blaenau. Am y tro, rhaid i mi ddychwelyd i Citadel Drezen i aduno â Captain Riversoar.”

Hallit: "I know there is much work ahead of us, but with your help and the support of our allies, we can achieve it. I will need to speak to Irabeth immediately and begin the work that lies before us. For now, I must return to Citadel Drezen to regroup with Captain Riversoar."

Ailig nods, his expression one of solidarity and determination. “Gwna’n gorau, Ehren. Byddaf yma, yn parhau i weithio dros ein pobl a’n dinas.”

Hallit: "Do your best, Ehren. I will be here, continuing to work for our people and our city."

Ehren smiles warmly, feeling a renewed sense of purpose. “Diolch, Ailig. Tan y tro nesaf.”

Hallit: "Thank you, Ailig. Until next time."

With that, Ehren takes his leave, walking purposefully towards Citadel Drezen.

Unafe, Li'an:

Unafe nods, her attention fully returned to the present. "Of course, Li'an. I'll be there to ensure we all get back safely."

Valais nods thoughtfully. "It's crucial we handle this with care. Once your allies are safe, we can focus on the Moaning Diamond."

Unafe:

Goryon's voice echoes in Unafe's mind. "Unafe, cofia ein cytundeb. Byddaf yn gwylio'n ofalus. Sicrha dy fod yn sicrhau nad oes dim yn peryglu diogelwch Sairazul."

Hallit: "Unafe, remember our agreement. I will be watching closely. Ensure that nothing jeopardizes the safety of Sairazul."

Unafe acknowledges Goryon’s reminder with a subtle nod. "Rwy’n deall, Goryon. Byddaf yn anrhydeddu ein cytundeb."

Hallit: "I understand, Goryon. I will honor our agreement."

Unafe, Li'an:

Turning back to Valais, Unafe continues, "Valais, thank you for your willingness to help. Your knowledge and insights will be invaluable. We'll start the research as soon as possible. And I appreciate your understanding of our need for secrecy and caution."

Valais smiles warmly. "I’m honored to assist in such an important matter. We will proceed with the utmost care and discretion."

With that, Unafe and Valais take their leave and head for Citadel Drezen.

Li'an, Ehren, and Unafe make their way to the Scriptorium within Citadel Drezen's keep, their steps purposeful and measured. The citadel looms ahead, beyond a blend of military fortifications and restored civic structures, standing tall against the cold, clear skies of Drezen. The city's bustling streets are alive with the activity of soldiers, scholars, and civilians, all contributing to the Crusader's efforts against the demonic forces.

The trio passes through the grand gates of Citadel Drezen, their presence marked by the heavy thud of cold iron against stone. They navigate through the corridors, Ehren's mind spinning with memories of previous battles and the resolve of those who fought them alongside him. The air is brisk and filled with the mingling scents of metal, parchment, and the faint tang of spellcraft.

Reaching the Scriptorium, they find Myrna and Beatrix already hard at work. The vaulted chamber is filled with rows of wooden desks and shelves laden with scrolls and books. The room hums with quiet activity, the soft rustling of pages and the occasional clink of ink bottles creating a serene yet industrious atmosphere. Scholars and scribes are deeply engrossed in their tasks, some translating ancient texts, others copying legal documents, and finally others crafting magical scrolls.

Lieutenant Medici and Captain Riversoar are stationed at a large oak table, where the components for the scroll are meticulously arranged. Vellum, specially prepared inks, and various arcane powders glitter subtly under the light streaming through the high windows. Beatrix consults a thick tome, muttering the precise incantations needed while Myrna arranges the physical components in the exact layout prescribed by Sarkorian tradition, taught to her by her grandmothers.

Ehren, Li'an and Hinagiku can now spend time to prepare and replenish spells/SP/PP/SLAs if they want to.

Upon entering the Scriptorium, Ehren takes a moment to absorb the tranquil atmosphere. He quietly greets Myrna and Beatrix with a respectful nod, acknowledging their diligence and dedication. Moving to a silent corner of the vaulted chamber, Ehren considers sitting at one of the wooden desks to meditate. His thoughts drift toward nature's mysteries—the intricate patterns of leaves, the enduring strength of ancient trees, and the harmonious balance of ecosystems.

Ultimately, the druid decides against it, wishing to resynchronize his ruminations with the rising sun. Yesterday's battle had expended much of his most powerful magic, but he still had spell power enough to scry on Auraelia as planned. Instead, Ehren joins Myrna and Beatrix at the table and sits quietly, waiting for the others to arrive.

Ehren will hold off on regaining his spells for now, so he can go back to doing so in the morning.

When the others show up to the meeting, Beatrix and Myrna set aside their work for the time being. Halfway done, they could finish it after they ensured that Li'an could rescue Aurelia.

Beatrix stands, nods to the others, and proceeds to the head of the table. "If you're all ready, I'm going to contact Aurelia and tell her that it's time to prepare to be rescued."

She looks around to see that everyone is there any paying attention, and then begins to cast sending. She stands, eyes closed and her hands clasped around her holy symbol, praying for the message to be sent to their ally with great timeliness. When the spell completes, a mental missive crosses the distance.

sending:
"Aurelia. Lieutenant Beatrix reporting. We have returned to Castle Drezen. Myrna will scry in one hour. Exit your shelter and prepare to be rescued."

While Beatrix casts sending, Myrna withdraws her scrying mirror from her backpack's side-pocket and lays it out on the table. "With any luck," she says, "Aurelia will appear before us. Then Li'an can teleport to rescue her."

Knowing that it would take an hour to complete the spell, Myrna begins immediately, laying out incense and drawing arcane sigils on the table, intoning magical runic symbols aloud. The mirror begins to cloud as she summons her power, ever so slowly resolving into an image of the celestial.

Myrna casts scrying, targeting Aurelia. The base save DC is 18, but hopefully she foregoes her save, given the warning.

As Myrna and Beatrix prepare for the Scrying, Li'an focuses on restoring her magic, knowing she'll need every bit of magic she has to retrieve Auraelia and Gaiwan safely.

Auraelia Sending:

"We're still alive here! I'll wait for your scrying attempt. I can't exit until you cast it, but will be ready!"

Auraelia will allow what she believes to be the scrying attempt to go through.

Hinagiku:

Yulin nods, a small smile forming on her lips. "I’d like that. Thank you, Hinagiku." Her white, pointed teeth contrast sharply against her dark skin and hair.

The room falls silent, save for the soft hum of Myrna’s chanting. As the minutes pass, the image in the mirror gradually sharpens, revealing Auraelia inside an empty, featureless, small, dark room. She is accompanied by two figures: Gaiwan and another creature that Ehren recognizes. Auraelia appears vigilant and concerned. Her wings are partially folded, and her eyes scan the room warily. Gaiwan stands nearby, muscular and tall, his scant clothing doing little to protect him from the chill of the empty room. His dark hair is disheveled, his face dark with shadow, and his eyes show his exhaustion. The third figure is a formidable and monstrous presence. Covered in dark fur, he has long, twisting ram-like horns and a wolf-like muzzle. His bipedal stance and long tail give him an imposing silhouette. He stands close to Gaiwan.

Time passes: 1 hour.

Auraelia:

"I think that's them," she says excitedly, looking up at the scrying sensor. "Wait here, I'll go outside quickly. Once it's safe I'll bring you outside! We're going home!"

Auraelia floats down from their alcove and unbars the exit, flying out of cautiously. Once out she looks for any obvious threats while trying to pick a location that works well for the scrying sensor to get a view of the surrounding area. Holding her mace aloft, she prepares both to defend herself, and also to enchant it to provide light if necessary to make it easier for whomever was scrying to describe the area.

Stealth: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (8) + 25 = 33

Back in the scriptorium, Li'an stands up and prepares herself as Myrna finishes the scrying ritual and begins observing Arie. "Are you ready Unafe?" she asks, knowing there was real danger involved given the risk they were taking in teleporting in nearly blind. She looks at Myrna expectantly, waiting for the description she'll need to attempt the rescue.

Ehren is slightly surprised when Myrna begins scrying, having intended to conduct the ritual himself. Not that he has any complaints - it is good that more than one of them are capable of the feat. It also meant that she could make a scrying attempt on Arueshelae, something he would not be able to do for another few hours.

The druid peers into the mirror and breathes a sigh of relief when he sees that Auraelia and Gaiwan are safe. He then looks to the man that the azata saved just yesterday, curious about the nature of his affliction.

"Be careful, Li'an," Ehren says to the sorceress unnecessarily, despite knowing that if all goes well, she will only be gone for mere seconds.

Auraelia:

Auraelia heads down the chute and moves outside, only to be met by a fierce blizzard that threatens to blow her away. The wind howls around her, and snow swirls in every direction, obscuring her vision and making it difficult to see more than a few feet ahead.

Auraelia is blown away unless she makes a DC 25 fly check. Failure means she is blown away 2d6 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8 (80) ft and takes 2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8 NL damage.

Auraelia:

Flying: 1d20 + 13 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 13 + 12 = 39

Auraelia steps out into a blizzard and is somehow completely unsurprised. "Stupid Abyss, of course it has to take a parting shot!" she thinks to herself. She braces herself up against the nearest tree, her wings fighting against the wind and snow.

--------

Without anything but a description of a few feet of snow around Arie, she tries to focus on the Lyrakien herself, counting on Pulura's guidance to help her teleport succeed in reaching her in that accursed land. Putting her hand on Unafe's shoulder, she looks at him and nods, before pulling them through space towards the Stonewilds.

Auraelia:

Sorry, forgot to remind you of the -4 skill penalty as well.

Auraelia's celestial sight pierces the swirling snow, seeking out any malevolent presence hiding within the blizzard. The howling wind and biting cold are almost overwhelming, but she remains steadfast, her glowing mace held high to illuminate the area. As she scans the surroundings, she senses a malevolent presence. Somewhere within the storm, evil lurks.

Auraelia must make that fly check every round.

Unafe, Li'an:

With her hand still on Unafe’s shoulder, Li'an begins the intricate incantation for the teleportation spell. Arcane symbols glow faintly around her, and the air shimmers with magical energy. Trusting in her connection to Pulura, she completes the spell, and in a flash of light, they are pulled through space towards the Stonewilds.

The icy wind and blinding snow assault them immediately as they materialize in the blizzard. Li'an squints against the ferocious storm, her eyes scanning the surroundings until she spots the faint glow of Auraelia's mace.

Unafe and Li'an take 1d6 ⇒ 1 cold damage from extreme cold. They must also make a DC 15 fort save or take 1d4 ⇒ 3 nonlethal damage. This damage is continuous damage.

Li'an frowns as the cold hits her and the wind begins to bite. A fire storm would have been fine, but this was truly abyssal. "Stay close," Li'an says to Unafe as she heads towards Arie's light quickly.

Flying: 1d20 + 13 + 12 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 13 + 12 - 4 = 33

When Arie sees Li'an and Unafe closing she waves her mace at them and beckons towards the entry. "Come quick, something is out here!" She flies in the door to avoid the worst of the wind and continues waving towards them. "Watch the first step!" she says, waiting to bar the door behind them again.

Li'an heads in and grabs Unafe's hand, lifting her up to avoid falling into the pit within the door, then prepares to head upwards.

Li'an double moves to get into the shelter (with the assumption that Unafe does as well); Auraelia moves back into the shelter and uses a standard to bar the door.
