Roland takes yet another 5’ step and he bashes blue with his book of magic.
Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Will someone move me just south of blue? Thanks.
| GM Ietsuna |
Roland's book smacks Blue and it falls, motionless to the ground.
Graktul
|
Seeing none of the enemy left standing Graktul comes out of his rage and moves a little more into the room. While taking a look around the room.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Bloody cramped being this big.
| GM Ietsuna |
All four skeletons are on the floor, unmoving, yes
Graktul finds that one of the skeletons is wearing a tarnished silver necklace.
The Armenian Man

Appraise DC 15, elixir of treasure seeking: 1d20 + 0 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 0 + 2 = 15
"Well, doesn't this look valuable. A couple hundred gold, I'd think." The Armenian Man gathers up the silver necklace that Graktul found, and pokes around the room a bit more to be sure that nothing else is missed.
Perception, elixir of treasure seeking: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 8 + 2 = 24
If nothing else is found, he suggests they move on. "I can only think of one place we haven't explored yet; there was that one other door leading out of the room with the pool. Shall we?"
Moved my token
| GM Ietsuna |
Ok, where to? You have the stairway down in front of you, which has moaning coming from, or you can go somewhere else.
Graktul
|
Slowly catching his breathe before speaking to the group.
Dont think there was a way to open that door from the arrow room on this side so only way is forward and down to the moaning.
Hopefully not another crazy guy waiting to pepper us with a crossbow again.
Roland Alimane
|
Roland moves ahead, down the stairs, trying to search carefully as he led the group.
Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
| GM Ietsuna |
At the bottom of the stairs is a circular chamber with three passageways leading from it. In the center is a small stone pedestal. The sound of dripping water can be heard coming from the eastern passageway, while the stench of rot emanates from the west.
The floor bears an inscription spiraling out from the pillar and written in Common. It reads: “To the south you might take your ease, to rest and reflect on Kassen’s deeds. To the east lies the wheel, to open the gate. To the west is the resting place of Kassen, hero of the Fangwood.”
The eastern passage begins to slope down a bit after leaving this chamber and water has collected in the corridor, growing deeper as the passage continues. This is the source of the dripping noise, as the ceiling appears to be leaking in many places. To the south, nothing can be heard or seen. To the west, the stench of rot grows stronger the closer you get to the mouth of the corridor, but nothing can be heard from that direction.
New map for the lower level up on the slides.

”I vote we head south, but I’m open to other thoughts. Anyone have a strong feeling?”
Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
”There’s a faint, weird gurgling coming from the east as well. Can anyone else hear it?”
Graktul
|
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
I am fine with going south just want to leave "east" for last so we don't have anything unknown at our back as we move forward.
The Armenian Man
|
There was a door in the room with the pool that we never explored beyond; The Armenian Man's token is currently just outside that door. Why not there before we go down to a new level?
Graktul
|
I seem to remember the door that closed us into the trap didn't have a handle or anyway to reopen it after it closed, but correct me if I am wrong.
| GM Ietsuna |
The doors in the "arrow chamber" only open one way. One opens into teh chamber and the other opens out of the chamber. You can get back to Armenian if you want to. I'll put arrows on the map to show you the directions.
Graktul
|
If we can go back relatively easily then Grak would be all for it...don't like leaving potential enemies at our back...but if the group wants to move forward then I am ok with that also.
| GM Ietsuna |
Ok, I will hold off advancing in a direction until we have a clear idea of where to next.
Roland Alimane
|
Everyone chime in. I voted south. Armenian and Grak voted to go back and check the other room. Everyone vote so we can move on.
| GM Ietsuna |
The party trek back through the complex. As they pass close by Roldair's room they hear that he is still moaning. The party make their way back to the room with the pool.
Graktul
|
Annoyed with how long it took to make the decision; Graktul moves quickly to the west door and opens it ready to charge through and hit anything that decides to take a swing at him.
The Armenian Man
|
The Armenian Man comes up behind Graktul, studying whatever is revealed beyond the door.
Perception, elixir of treasure seeking: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 2 = 21
| GM Ietsuna |
This long corridor is flanked by a row of human statues, set into alcoves on each side. The statues look like Kassen, and each one holds a longsword out in front of it. The blades of the four statues closest to you are wrapped in leather padding.
Roland Alimane
|
The Pastor figured this would be as good a time as any to use Nethys’s blessing and detects magic in the corridor and alcoves. He remained ready for anything while scanning the room.
The Armenian Man
|
The Armenian Man also calls on Magdh to show him the presence of magic in the hallway, and he takes a careful look at the swords. "But why are they wrapped, little Gnicky, if they are a trap? All of the traps here seem designed to not kill. Very curious."
Casting detect magic
Perception, elixir of treasure seeking: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 8 + 2 = 29
| GM Ietsuna |
The Armenian Man does not detect any magic in this hallway, he does however notice what looks remarkably like a pressure plate in the square of floor between the third pair of statues.
The Armenian Man
|
"Oooooh, and there's the trigger! Keep an eye out for that." The Armenian Man points out the pressure plate so that everyone can avoid it. He examines the swords as they pass. (can they be removed from the statues?)
When he reaches the pressure plate, he jumps over on his way down the hall.
Acrobatics DC 5: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (11) - 5 = 6
He examines the door at the end of the hall for traps while he waits for the others to arrive.
Perception, elixir of treasure seeking: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 8 + 2 = 27
Just realized that The Armenian Man is still wounded from the skeletons. He'll heal himself with his wand of cure light wounds before moving down the hall.
cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Roland follows the group as well. ”Are we sure that pressure plate might not be some sort of key that might allow access to that room we struggled to get into!”
| GM Ietsuna |
The swords cannot be removed. They are part of the statues.
Armenian looks into the next room.
One half of this lo!y chamber has a lowered floor, with stairs on either side to reach the bottom. Standing opposite the door is a tall wooden statue of Kassen grasping a gigantic wooden shield in each hand. One of the shields is inscribed with the word “home,” while the other reads “family.”
The Armenian Man
|
In response to Roland, The Armenian Man replies "I'm not expert in traps, really. I just happen to notice them from time to time. Not sure how to figure out what it might do"
He studies the statue, calling on Magdh to reveal any magic to him.
Casting detect magic
| GM Ietsuna |
The statue is large and made of wood. He does not detect any magical items or lingering spell effects in the area.
Graktul
|
Following the Armenian Man's motions Graktul jumps the plate before coming to the next room
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Anyone have any method to where to go next...guess my vote would be home before family but got no reason for that.
The Armenian Man
|
The Armenian Man approaches the door off to the side of the wooden statue, and he checks it for traps. "This is the funniest place Magdh ever send me. Almost silly. Glad Magdh still has a sense of humor."
Perception, elixir of treasure seeking: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 8 + 2 = 24
| GM Ietsuna |
As Armenian looks at the door the wooden statue moves aggressively towards the group.

No longer surprised by the fact that there are traps everywhere, he takes a giant swing at the statue trying to smash through one of the legs.

Unsure where the statue is located so just put me in range when it appears.
