So essentially, to get the aid of the ex-bandits and the Levetons, you'll need to make separate Diplomacy checks to request aid. Because this is some serious aid to be requesting, you can imagine the DCs are not particularly low, even though everyone involved is at least indifferent or better.
You are welcome to aid one another on the diplomacy checks, but you'll only get one shot (read: one person to make the Diplomacy check + aid another bonuses) to convince each person(s) to help.

Posting later today, don't have a computer at the moment.

As a player, I know that. Tyanos got +13, I got +9 in Diplomacy. Maybe he would have rolled lower than I had.
Hadin can't know that, and if there is a chance to do some good, he won't just wait lazily for another to do the job (nothing against Tyanos, just thinking in character).
Tyanos Strostia |
No offense but Tyanos is a orator, he is played as such more then anything else about his character. Hadin undercutting him and taking the lead in talks when Tyanos was building and maneuvering, personally is out of character that I find hard to explain. Would not matter as much if the DM had not specified it was such a crucial moment that a single person would influence it. But there you have it.
That said Tyanos has from the start been building, working, and maintaining relationships. All those guys are at helpful status concerning him. Even Happs and that annoying guard captain are because that is what Tyanos does. Hadin by comparison may only have Oleg at helpful (don't keep track of others so don't know for sure). His relationships with the former bandits are, if memory serves, nearly nonexistent sense they came to Oleg's. While Tyanos has kept checking in and helped them in their wavering doubts. This all makes the DCs lower and with his speaking skills so high everything is skewed in his favor, by his design. Hadin's DCs are higher from the start and his skill is lower, making the gap bigger so the dice have less influence really, barring a nat 20 mind you.
Anyways will post shortly, yesterday was a pain. >.<

I can see your point there, Tyanos. However, I feel that your contributions are noted and appreciated.
In this matter, perhaps as a follower of Erastil, Hadin felt that he could foster aid and acceptance from our budgeoning community. I don't think he meant to undercut or steal your spotlight. I think our gracious DM will count our party's roleplay when considering the result of this popcorn intense moment. Personally, I'm excited that this would be the first time in my experience with KingMaker that a party cared about getting aid rather than grinding in the woods for disposable loot and cheap experience. I'm invested in seeing how this plays out.
TLDR - We are bros.

So I don't bog down the gameplay thread, going to post here with what I have in mind.
Tyanos would want the party to buy the scroll of silent image. A thunderstone and a tanglefoot bag. That would cost a total of 105 gp, he won't rip off Oleg concerning the scroll. x)
Our best ranged type will hold the tanglefoot bag, our second best thrower will hold the thunderstone, Thomas can hold the scroll of silent image. Besides whatever other goodies we set up for the bandits, with these items we can pin them down pretty good.
Thomas can create a image with the scroll, Tyanos can use ghost sound to give it something to match. Like a bear with a roar for example. At the same time we have our throwers toss the two items. Best case we get them tangled, deafened, and a little hurt while freaking out over a bear in one round. If their on horses then that's a bonus cause those will freak out regardless.
How does that sound folks?

Sounds like a reasonable plan, but with the one caveat, in that I would like to transfer the spell into my spell book before we use it. :)

Well, the only thing that I can afford right now, are some arrows and food.
Character is running low on personal funds. :)

I'll wait until the end of the day for purchases and things... If you wanted to cash in as a group and get stuff, now would probably be the time.
Unrelated, but also of note: Wayfinder 15 is officially released and is wholly relevant to our adventures.

Sense it looks like Tyanos will be doing his merchant thing, old plan lost it's ghost sound for the magical monster.
Proposing a new plan with what we have.
Two throwers with the thunderstone and tanglefoot bag as before. Thomas keeps his silent image scroll in reserve in cast they try to make a run for it, maybe create the image of something scary without a need for sound. Instead you use that create pit spell to get Sneeg, as well as anyone around him, in the ambush. We have our best stealth types dig a small ditch under a near by stump or shrub, throw a brown blanket over themselves and snipe any baddie coming out of the gate or if they have a line of sight during the ambush. They can then pop out and join the fight cutting off any escape.
Shouldn't take a lot of time or resources outside what we have. I doubt anyone is going to notice someone hiding pretty much in the ground and under plant life. Everyone inside the gate is going to have to be inside a barrel or behind some sort of cover, easy enough.
How does that sound?
Thomas Leafbearer |
I currently have a failure chance on the create pit, so that is not the best choice right now.
It is a 2nd level spell, and I cannot do them yet.
Tyanos Strostia |
Do you have something better in mind Thomas? I am trying to maximize the ambush with negative conditions. You only need to roll a 3 or better (DC 4) to cast it, if you fail you only need to pass a DC 5 wisdom check to avoid anything bad. It's in your favor but if you prefer something solid that's useful, go for it.
Trying to take the fight out of them before it becomes a fight, except Sneeg. Who I expect will be the arrogant punk that won't give up no matter the odds. Personally my favorite type of baddie to mercilessly grind into the ground. >:)
Thomas Leafbearer |
I understand what you are thinking, and agree with it. I will transcribe it into my spellbook, then i can really use it.
Either that, or i look through my options.when i get home from work, which is what i will be doing anyways
Tyanos Strostia |
Seeing as we arrived the night before the due date. I am sure we have time for taking 20 on stealth, not to mention being behind cover and looking through say a hole from a good distance. Means you have one hell of a circumstance bonus. If the DM may let me be so bold. ;)
That's right baddies, not so fun when we use your tricks against you is it. >:)

For the next week, I will be gone fishing. I don't know if I will have net access. So please bot me as necessary.
GM's, all info should be on my profile.
Tyanos Strostia |
Anyone with bad stealth or armor, please dig yourself into a hole and preferably under some other form of cover on top of being covered with a ground colored blanket. Inside, get in a barrel pop a peek/air hole and put the top on.
Believe me even taking 20 it's always the anchors that ruin ambushes. X3
Ever seen a wizard with a lightning elemental cast reverse gravity while said elemental dimension doors above them. Grapple check for the ages with extra fried adventurer.

I am back, it will take me a bit of time to catch up, and begin posting again.
Didn't need the net. It was all in the fishing kit. :)

To be clear the alchemist fire is more a prop then anything. As I said IC before, it's to threaten the loot Sneeg wants if he tries to snatch it rather then trade. He does not intend to use it, but he might depending how things go.
As for who you should target when the time comes, currently Sneeg is by himself dealing with Tyanos and away from his group. So unless the group spread out or something you should be able to hit most of them with the tanglefoot bag as things stand. I would suggest picking the most enemies you can get with a single throw rather then focusing on any one enemy. I rather have less dangerous targets then any specific one in these matters.
Dmitri Prostrednik |
I hope I don't come off as that guy but shouldn't we restrict discussion about tactics since we're all in our assumed spots? I don't suppose we'd have a magical team chat or something keeping us all together until combat comes.
Tyanos Strostia |
Tyanos has the message spell but as he will not risk a whisper with Sneeg so close. So yeah IC he is not telling anyone anything.
OOC I have just reminded everyone of what I said IC. Concerning Kareta she asked my opinion and I gave it, not telling her to do anything.
Now that my shameless lawyering is done. I'll just wait on the DM without anymore comment. ;P

I agree, get yourself feeling better first.
I will never begrudge the time it takes for health.
Edit, so it looks like I will be the one to trigger the ambush with the pit spell.
However, I will wait until the GM is ready before triggering it. :)
