While the pathfinders are quick up the hill, Selune is quicker... She draws first blood. The orc draws his longsword and attacks the bear, using the higher ground to his advantage. The other orc steps back and fires another arrow into Thoril before drawing his longsword.

Some of Malik's wounds close up and stop bleeding. He makes a quick chants and a several hand motions afterwards, and it seems like some of the snow disappears from underneath his feet. A ball of water appears in front of him and is flinged towards the orcs.

Draklor somehow manages to scrabble up the rough slope, only a small patch of which takes him quite some time. Perhaps that is because he's been chanting all the while. It is all the kitsune can manage to make the climb and rush behind Thoril. "Here to patch you up," he gasps to the nagaji while clutching a stitch in his side.

Double move, one part of which was spent to go 5 feet up the hill. Inspire Courage, round 2.

not sure why Tchak is climbing where there's no access... due to rocks...

Tchak lets himself slide down the slope back to the road, and walks along til he gets to where he's under the opening in the rocks.

Mun surveys the layout of the hill above the path. He knows it's no good for him to climb and try to engage that way. He can barely see the orc that Selune is engaging, but he can just see past Thoril and draws a bead on an orc in purplish rags. He draws his bow, knocks and arrow, and almost fires on the orc.

Instead, he lowers the arrow tip a bit as he prays to Ashava for her favor. "আসওয়া, আমাকে আপনার ঐশ্বরিক অনুগ্রহ দান করুন যেন আমি আপনার নামে এই অহংকারে মাতাল করি!"

The clash of weapons and sounds of battle are all that remain after the war drums stop beating. The orcs and giants look around in a moment of panic. Where they once fought with cruel determination, they now fight with worried desperation.

Thoril utterly destroys the orc with the falchion while Draklor heals some of the Nagaji's wounds. Malik throws a watery orb that packs more punch than the orc expected. Seeing his dead companions and the wounds it has taken it turns to flee.

As the last orcs perish or flee, the Twinhorns reassemble the caravan and gather the fallen. Night begins to fall, swallowing up the road and leaving the caravan stranded in a pool of torchlight. Medda stands atop the new lead wagon, blood dripping from her breastplate. She holds Ivvora’s hilt aloft and shouts, “Twinhorns! We are only two days from the stone circle and have two days until the winter solstice.” A nimbus of light begins to radiate from the hilt, illuminating the entire valley in bright light. “Abandon the wagons and carry with you what you need to survive. We must reach the circle in time, or darkness will consume us.”

Bodies litter the valley, but fortunately most of them belong to orcs. Even so, the Twinhorns have lost many of their warriors and may not be at their full fighting strength for whatever lies ahead.

★★★OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT★★★

“My Pathfinder allies, thank you for bringing us much needed support,” says Medda, the Twinhorn following’s spiritual leader. She stands beside Anok, her phantom and constant companion. “After the orc ambush sapped our supplies and strength, we pushed north to our winter home. We are only hours away from the stone circle and our encampment—if we are going to make it there by midnight, we need to press on. Once there, we will use Ivvora’s hilt to perform our time-honored ritual and keep evil from our lands.” Medda produces the small hilt of a broken weapon with only a fragment of its black metal blade remaining. “Let us move. There are dangers in these ancient woods: orc raiders, bears that topple trees, and worse. Stay in groups and don’t get lost.”

As the Kellids and Pathfinders reach the top of the hill next to the Twinhorn encampment, they notice splashes of blood and the occasional corpse dotting the landscape. Medda raises her voice, calling, “My brethren, our families are under attack! Secure the camp and drive back any who oppose you. Pathfinder allies, join us in defense of our home!” The landscape opens into a burned hillside where blackened trees stand like lifeless sentinels. A crude blockade shields the entrance to a natural cavern.

Draklor, flushed with excitement as he is at this uncovered knowledge, is still not surprised by the appearance of enemies. He has served in the Society more than long enough. "It is said in the Azvadeva Pujila even the risen dead were cowed by Irori's presence," he intones as he steps forward and draws his crossbow. "It was more than enough to assure them of their impending destruction. While we may not be so strong as to exude such an aura, we can still guarantee the release of these poor souls."
