You move on towards the stairs. Under a sign that reads “The Shining Armory,” priceless Shining Crusade artifacts displayed on pedestals creak and move by some unseen force. Eerie light seems to dart between the objects while the din of a raging battle echoes throughout the chamber. The central feature is a low, artificial hill atop which stand two stuffed owlbears surrounded by shattered undead foes. Each of the beasts wears chainmail barding and an orange-and-black caparison depicting a stylized owlbear. A dead man dressed in furs lies on the floor before a suit of fullplate armor. Two banners detach from the ceiling and lazily float down to just above ground levels, hovering there...

★★★OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT★★★
A high-pitched buzz pervades the museum, rising in frequency to the point of being inaudible. A moment later, a rolling boom echoes through the museum like thunder, and the glowing wards around the museum begin to fade.
@Table GMs: The “Failing Wards” condition on page 9 is now in effect.

The group quickly share their information: these are animated flags, neutral constructs that have absorbed psychic energy during the Crusades. Unlike most animated objects, a Shining Crusade banner has no hardness. Furthermore, its attacks deal nonlethal damage. A Shining Crusade banner is haunted by a spirit, it takes damage from positive energy as if it were an undead creature.
Mun, I assume you did not cast your protection from evil, knowing that these are neutral objects

"And tell Hal I said hello."

It is a free action to use an aid token, as it represents calling another agent's aid.

Tchak moves forward and takes his place on the stairs right behind the frontliners... Expecting more trouble, he stands with his blade drawn. "Flying banners? What's next? animated suits of armor? This is a very odd place."

![]() |

Gill claimed the 2nd of the two front squares, so I moved most of the group back one square to make room for him up front. Mūn and Selûne are taking the rear guard position so as to stay adjacent to each other.
"Just a minute now and these wards will be down; I can feel their power ebbing. I hope that their work is more in keeping us out right now, than in keeping something dangerous in. Be on your guards nonetheless!"

★★★OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT★★★
After a loud crack and a ripple of arcane energy, silence falls across the museum as the construct guards freeze in place and haunted relics drop to the ground. Nigel’s voice rings out, magically projected throughout the museum: “We’ve disabled the magical security measures. Since we haven’t found the thieves yet, they must be hiding in my third-story study. Please subdue them; they have much to answer for!”
Nigel Aldain’s announcement echoes through a museum littered with shattered clockwork and toppled exhibits. There’s no question that the Pathfinders have quelled the building’s defenses, and perhaps the peaceful silence will set whoever hides on the third floor at ease.
@Table GMs: Please begin Part C on page 14, but stop before reaching Part 2. Also, the Peace in the Museum condition on page 16 is in effect.

![]() |

Tchak, presumably with the others, runs up the stairs to the third level of the museum... not changing the marching order, just getting us moving after the overseer announcement

GMG |

You quickly open the door to the third-floor study.
The mahogany walls and domed, plaster ceiling both show signs of heavy damage. Most of the luxurious furniture and the crystal chandelier are intact. The contents of cabinets and bookcases lie strewn about the floor. A small wooden panel near the door hangs open, revealing an arcane sigil covered in scorch marks.
A Kellid woman dressed in furs with intricate scars all over her body steps forward. She holds a hand up and says, “Stay back. We are members of the Twinhorn following, and we have only come to retrieve what was stolen from us.”
A towering figure steps forward; his translucent red form is that of a man clad in heavy armor and wielding twin warhammers. “Medda, they must be in league with the thieves; they should die for crossing us.” The man’s voice sounds hollow and unnaturally loud, and as he speaks, the chandelier glows with a dull light.
The woman, Medda, puts a hand on the figure’s arm and says, “Maybe we should give them a chance to explain themselves, Anok.”

![]() |

Tchak looks fascinated with the translucent form, not clear on what he is. It takes him a few moments to realize there was a chance to avoid hostilities here. "I am Tchak. and I am not a thief, nor in league with any that I know of. I came here to help quell chaos in this museum... animated and haunted relics fighting each other. This is not normal for this place apparently. But back to why you are here. Will or can you elaborate - what was stolen from you? Perhaps we can help you to get it back?"

![]() |

Hamith sheathes his greatsword and moves up past his companions, his gauntleted hands splayed and open in a peaceful gesture.
”My name is Hamith Caid, paladin of the Inheritor. We are from the Pathfinder Society, and as my companion has stated, we are here to stop whatever is causing these disturbances. We mean you no harm if you are not the ones responsible for this. Sorry for my ignorance, but what is this Twinhorn Following?”
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24

GMG |

Medda responds, “We are from the northern lands—the Realm of the Mammoth Lords to you southerners. Our following, or tribe, has been searching for our stolen heritage for months, that was stolen by these Blakros." Medda retrieves a bundle of bloody bandages, then unwraps it to reveal a dagger hilt with only the fragment of a black blade. “It belonged to Ivvora, a champion of Vildeis who vanquished the great black evil from our land over 900 years ago. We kept it safe until the Blakros agents stole it three months ago.”

![]() |

"They stole it?" Draklor repeats, a bit ruffled. "I knew they had some shady business practices, but I was under the impression it was more overpricing and the like than outright theft. You should keep it, then. What's yours is yours."

![]() |

Gill narrows his eyes at the woman and her translucent red companion.
"You some sorta trainer? That yer fighter? Looks like he's be good fer the full championship distance."
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Shrugging, he gestures towards the hilt.
"And what do I care if you take yer weapon back? Best weapon though is a pair of these..."
He holds up his fists, a quaint, non-threatening gesture from the elderly statesman.
"Ain't noone takin' 'em from ya."

![]() |

Tchak nods when he sees the weapon, and his beak opens slightly in wonder at the sight of the black piece of blade, wondering if it is like his own. "I agree, what is yours should never have been taken from you. It was wrong. Keep it and take it home... Finding something so small in this crazy place must not have been easy. I'm glad you found it."
