Corrin Whisperwind |
"Thats not...."
He paused patting Dewdrop and removed his spear.
"Guard her back Dewdrop!"
He ordered his companion pointing to Yeda. With a snort the elk made its way after her. He moved torwards the fire, hoping that maybe the guard was just being lazy and sitting inside the building.
Sorry about the delays folk, christmas break and all
Zeldana Dardlara Amaria |
Fear gripped Zeldana's stomach, and worry filled her mind. Did something else come out of the tunnel? Should they of gone further even with the fact that she had no more magic? How many of the people she knew would be found hurt... Or worse?
That fear was enough to overwhelm Zeldana. "We must find them! Maybe there is still time!" Zeldana said, begging that they were okay, please let them be okay.
RIZZENMAGNUS |
ok, just for sake of reference, you guys were heading towards the doors to room A12 of the glassworks when you noticed the lack of guard.
Yeda sprints around the end of the building, and turning the corner towards the backside of the building, Dewdrop following close at her heels. At the far end of the building, the point nearest the cliff side, she sees another watchman's fire stand, but no watchman.
Loxley Geralt |
Loxley frowns, not finding anything useful. Looking back at the others she gives a small shrug of her shoulders.
”We should try not to announce ourselves if we can help it.”
She says in a softer voice and draws her sword.
”Just in case.”
Turning back to the door she raises her off hand towards the door and whispers a word of magic.
Casting Detect Magic centering on the door.
Zeldana Dardlara Amaria |
"They should have met us long before we got here." Zeldana pointed out. "Patrols, talking, but there is no one here." She told them before she finally made up her mind and opened the door to the glassworks. "we need answers." Zeldana said as she made her way inside.
Yeda Wolfspirit |
Yeda nods and follows Zeldana.
Yes, there's nothing obvious outside. Let's be careful moving through the building though.
She continues to point her greatsword in the direction she intends to walk, at each turn pausing to point it and observe before proceeding.
A11 into A6:
Stealth, armor: 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 1 - 4 = 15
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Yeda Wolfspirit |
Zel "made her way inside"; Yeda followed; then proceeded into the next room cautiously. If one of the spellcasters wants to throw a Light on her and follow, it would be cool. Yeda is acting very instinctively, and despite how long this game has been going on I would say the individuals are still learning how to operate as a team (i.e., stop and plan as a group :P)
Loxley Geralt |
"We should check the windows befor-"
Loxley stops mid-sentence as Zeldana passes her and enters the glassworks, followed by Yeda. She raises a hand in a futile gesture then drops it. When Sazzat follows the other two she sighs and glances back at Corrin.
"Well, guess that's that."
Sword in hand she follows after Sazzat.
Corrin Whisperwind |
With a slight half shrug and a sheepish smile to miss Loxley he followed the others in, only waiting to make sure that Dewdrop and Miss Yeda were indeed good before following the others.
"They may be hurt inside or something, no sense in waiting if there could be danger I guess."
He answered Miss Loxley's partial statement.

ok...(evil DM laugh)...
The door opens easily to Zeldana's push, and all of you walk into the Glassworks building.
You stand inside the reception room (A12), and you see that the room itself is empty. Everything is just the way it was since yesterday when you went through.
Yeda Wolfspirit |
My bad, I thought A11 was the main entrance and it wasn't clear that Zeldana was going in a different way. I don't see that she specified a particular entrance.
Seeing that none of her teammates are following, Yeda backtracks to the entrance and tries the next door, arriving in the reception room.

nope, a11 has windows. looking at the map, i can see how it would look like doors.
Yeda Wolfspirit |
Now that it's clear we're not splitting up the party, and what room Yeda could even be in...
Yeda nods toward Tamm in thanks for lighting her greatsword. She moves forward quietly and carefully, first to the closet/office (A13) via the middle door from reception.
Stealth, armor: 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 1 - 4 = 12
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Sazzat Tamm |
With Bandit crouched on his left shoulder, Tamm stays close. He slips his dagger out in case of trouble.
stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
RIZZENMAGNUS |
Sticking close to Yeda after she opens the door to the office, you hear a slight mutter from beyond the other door on the east wall. Oh Sarenrae, save me
yeda, you open the door into the office and dont see any signs of disturbance. everything looks like it should be in its place, stacks of papers on the desk, the chair pushed under the desk, full bottle of ink with fine quill. Everything seems in order.
Yeda Wolfspirit |
Yeda frowns and steps away, leaving the office door open. She points her sword first at the Northern door to the right of the office, then the door to the East.
I'm not seeing anything yet. Which way should we try next?
Cue Sazzat.
Sazzat Tamm |
Tamm reaches out to Yeda and taps her on the shoulder.
When she turns to him, he holds one finger up to his mouth in the universal signal for quiet.
Then he points toward the door in the east wall.
Yeda Wolfspirit |
The Shoanti woman nods and backs him up approaching the Eastern door...
Sazzat Tamm |
Seeing that Yeda thinks he was volunteering to open the door (and not wanting to appear cowardly in front of the Shoanti), Tamm looks at the raccoon on his left shoulder and shrugs.
With his dagger in his right hand he moves up to the door quietly and knocks three times with his left hand.
He steps back and says quietly in the common tongue "Is someone in there?"
Loxley Geralt |
Do you mean room A14? I think that's technically the North wall, judging from the map's compass.
Loxley hangs back by Yeda and Zeldana, sword still in had. She tenses as Sazzat opens the door and quietly calls into the room.

they are in room A13
AHHHHHH! a voice screams loudly from the other side of the door. A shuffle, and then a loud clatter of something being knocked over sounds from the other side of the door. Ah s$%+! S$+&! S&~#! S#+$! the voice, the male voice screams in sudden rage.
Yeda Wolfspirit |
Yeda moves up to just in front of the door and yells to the other side.
Hey! Who's in there? If you're one of the guards posted here then you have no reason to hide, we're allies.
Zeldana Dardlara Amaria |
"We're the group that went through here before!" Zeldana called out. "We're not going to hurt you, if anything we're going to help you."
Sorry for the silence guys, I was sick. Fever and typing doesn't work well together!
RIZZENMAGNUS |
A long silence fills the air before a loud sigh fills the air on the other side of the door.ah...well...i, uh-you see- oh dear, im so embarressed. Well...i had an accident, and ummm...could you send a male through the door? I dare not embarass a lady with what has happened. Could you send a guy through the door? Please?
Yeda Wolfspirit |
Yeda rolls her eyes and turns to move away from the door. She looks at Tamm and points back towards the door with her thumb.
Ug. I think Stinky in there is supposed to be the posted guard. Why don't you go see what's keeping him away from his post.
RIZZENMAGNUS |
you know...after rereading the previous postings...ive come to realize that where this is headed is dumber than a box of rocks. Not my best work. I thought, initially, it be funny, but now...not so much. So, instead of hearing the guy talk, lets say you guys heard some mumbles, and when sazzat opens the door he sees...
Yeda Wolfspirit |
Yeda cocks her head, confused at the situation.
Okay, so, we found the posted guard but there is still only one? That doesn't seem sufficient, but perhaps it's all the sheriff could provide at this time.
She thinks some more and sighs. I guess we'd better head to the barracks and request a replacement. I don't think we want to delve down into this place without the topside being covered.
Corrin Whisperwind |
Startled into movement but the mans sudden screaming had him spinning about spear out looking for the the threat. The elk too made a startled noise as it reared away from the screaming man.
Yeda Wolfspirit |
Yeda rolls her eyes again, and move back towards the door to address the lazy guard.
Calm yourself man! We aren't here to kill you. Are you the only guard posted here? One doesn't seem like enough...
Zeldana Dardlara Amaria |
"That is true seeing as the Mayor said she would be setting guards here." Zeldana said, more as a reminded for the group. "So there has to be more than one...right?"
How? I stayed away while sick! XD
Loxley Geralt |
Loxley was startled herself at the guard's sudden cry.
"Eep!"
She falls back on her butt and winces.
"Ouch."
With a grumble under her breath Loxley climbs back to her feet. Dusting herself off she tries to regain some dignity and stands up to her full height.
RIZZENMAGNUS |
The man...no, boy. He stands old enough to be considered a man, but still has the look of a boy. His gear harness is askew, his sword lays upon the ground. He shakes his head and stands up.
yes. Jom stands guard at the southern door, and Jorn commands the 5 men at the tunnel below. We are stretched thin here. Hopefully this cave business finishes soon, otherwise well be in dire straights.
Yeda Wolfspirit |
Very well, then we will quickly descend to the tunnels and do our part.
Yeda looks at the boy more closely, squints her eyes and sizes him up.
Just how old are you anyway? Tell me, when the goblins attacked this town, what were you doing?
She doesn't hide the lack of judgement and pretense in her tone, intending to unfairly compare the young guard to what she would expect of one of her own people at that age.
Not sleeping, I hope.
Loxley Geralt |
Loxley gives Corrin a nod of thanks for his hand up. Turning her attention to the group as a whole.
”Something happened here. We should send the boy back to the garrison while we continue to look around.”
She glances at Yeda for confirmation. ”Judging from her reaction. I guess she didn’t see anyone around back.” She pauses to let Yeda reply herself. “I suggest we work our way up the hall, towards the back door, checking rooms. We may find this Jom in a similar state.” She says calmly although there is concern on her worried face.
Zeldana Dardlara Amaria |
"I should have come back." Zeldana said with a sigh. "I felt like I should have remained here after everything, now those who were forced to might be harmed." Zeldana added, obviously very worried about what might of happened. "I don't wish to sound to hasty but I fear for those who were stationed closer down to the well."
RIZZENMAGNUS |
Looking at yeda, the boy says grimaces. well...i was on guard that day...at my mom's... his voice falters under the stern glare of yeda. i...Karsen pulled me in here to watch his post. Said he had to take care of something. That was an hour ago. Offered me 100 gold to watch this door. 100 gold! So easy! But i got tired...and so...oh im so dead. My mother is going to kill me the boy drops to his knees and starts to sob
Zeldana Dardlara Amaria |
"I cannot blame him." Zeldana said, understanding the poor boy's mind. "A hundred gold and his family would never go hungry. Most people here unless they be good traders or fair merchants would never see that much. Even more so a guard." She said with a small shake of her head. "I am going to check on the guards down below... Desna's grace and Pharasma's mercy they are alright." She stated before she moved to head down to the area below, were the wall had been broken open.
So from A12, to the little inbetween there that doesn't have an area name, to A16 and down the steps.
