Cathis Salte
|
Cathis produces a beetle's wing from his component pouch, tracing a rune in the air, and snapping the carapace between his fingers. Running out into the chamber, he positions himself behind a column, and attempts to get a sense of their enemies' positions.

Im assuming somewhere between attire and gear, Simon would be able to pick out the Oracle (H1).
Simon rushes into the room, putting a column between himself and the archer as he punches outward at the opposing caster with both fists. With a an arcane shout, the dragon tattoos on his wrists roar to life, pulsing with occult energy as they streak across the room to slam into the opposing caster's chest.
Move to the west side of that column just north of Simon, then Magic Missile on H1.
Magic Missile: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 2) + 2 = 5
Zuriel Heihachi
|
Zuriel hastens to catch up to the others, stepping into the doorway and throwing a chakram at the only foe he can see.
Move to where Simon's token is right now on the map.
Standard to throw chakram at H1, one range increment: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 4 - 2 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
| GM Fuzzfoot |
With Simon and Zuriel working together, the oracle falls before he can act.
Seeing this, the swordsman (O2) double moves over to his fallen companion.
We will proceed to round 2 without Makik's action, but if we get back around to him before he acts, I will bot him. A number of people were out this weekend, and I can't recall if he was one of them...

With a wordless scream Baddacus charges the archer!
Greataxe Charging Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 2 = 16 *+2 if archer is medium size or larger.
Damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
On mobile - Unable to edit map position.
Current AC 14 (16 vs medium size or larger)
| GM Fuzzfoot |
Baddacus' charge is barely successful, but produces a vicious wound all the same.
Malik casts Shield of Faith and moves toward the large chamber.
DC 10: 1d20 + 1 - 9 ⇒ (19) + 1 - 9 = 11
The downed swordsman stabilizes.
The archer steps back 5' and then shoots Baddacus.

An arrow is protruding from Baddacus' arm.

With the archer engaged, Simon shifts his focus to the swordsman standing over the fallen spellcaster. ”I’d consider your next actions very carefully.” Simon steps forward a few feet, hands ready to enact another volley of magic, ”Surrender and you and your friends don’t have to die. So drop weapons and stand still, now.”
Move into range (map updated), then ready an action to cast Grease should the O2 do anything but surrender.
| GM Fuzzfoot |
I'll go ahead and bot them for now. Sometimes RL gets in the way, but we are very close to the end here.
Cathis moves into position to get near the healer of the group, and draws his greataxe (as a move action). (Shield 2/6) What is a Mwk Backpack?
Malik casts Magic Weapon on his morning star, and then moves towards the archer.
The swordsman (O2) pours a potion down the oracle's (H1) throat.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
The oracle, reviving, casts a spell.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Then he stands up.
Round 3:
N'Neka
Baddacus
O1 (Swordsman) - down and bleeding out (-20hp)
S1 (Archer) (-10hp)
Cathis
Malik
Simon
Zuriel
O2 (Swordsman)
H1 (Oracle)(-2hp)

O2 triggered Simon's readied spell when he poured the potion. So—immediately before he can take those actions—he's gotta roll a DC 15 Reflex save vs. falling Prone. (See my readied action spoiler above). EDIT: I added a green square to indicate where the grease is on the map.
"Bad call," Simon shouts as he releases his held magics ... and goops springs up under the swordsman and fallen enemy spell-caster.

Cathis moves into position to get near the healer of the group, and draws his greataxe (as a move action). (Shield 2/6) What is a Mwk Backpack?
Masterwork backpack: it's basically a more expensive backpack that (when worn) makes your strength considered to be 2 higher as it pertains to your encumbrance capacity.
| GM Fuzzfoot |
Yes, sorry - forgot about the readied action - it had been a few days... :)
Reflex Save, O2: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
The swordsman does indeed fall down. He pulls out the potion (standard move while prone). He tries to stand up (second move action).
Reflex Save, O2: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
He falls back down.
The oracle, is still prone and bleeding.
My bad x2 - not only did I forget the readied action, but I failed to notice that pouring a potion down an unconscious person's throat is a full round action as well... so he couldn't have retrieved it and administered it in the same round.
Round 3:
N'Neka
Baddacus
O1 (Swordsman) - down and bleeding out (-20hp)
S1 (Archer) (-10hp)
Cathis
Malik
Zuriel
Simon
O2 (Swordsman) - prone
H1 (Oracle) - down and bleeding (-11hp)
Baddacus Stumps
|
Ignoring the arrow in his leg, Baddacus pursues the archer with a vengeance!
Greataxe Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 *+2 if archer is medium size or larger.
Damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Rage 3/8
AC 14
HP 14/17
Also, I think I've now hedged the archer in so that a 5' step won't get him clear to shoot without provoking an AoO.
| GM Fuzzfoot |
The archer drops his bow and draws his short sword. He tries to poke it into Baddacus' belly.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Round 3:
N'Neka
Baddacus
O1 (Swordsman) - down and bleeding out (-21hp)
S1 (Archer) (-10hp)
Cathis
Malik
Simon
Zuriel
O2 (Swordsman) - prone
H1 (Oracle) - down and bleeding (-11hp)

Simon quickly digs out a pinch of pocket lint, holding it in his upturned p alm as he regards the fallen swordsman.
”જગ્યા” he mutters darkly, and the lint flares brightly before evaporating in a puff of ethereal, white smoke … the glowing strands of which stream to wards the man and into his open mouth, ears, eyes, and nostrils.
Cast Daze on O2. Will DC 14; failure means he’s dazed (can take no actions) for 1 round.
| GM Fuzzfoot |
Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 He is dazed.
Zuriel Heihachi

Zuriel shakes his head sadly, and closes his eyes for a moment. When he opens them, they glow with a golden light.
You had a chance to surrender, but some things have already been foretold...
He charges forward, leaping over the already-fallen enemy to strike at the one held fast by Simon's magic.
Free: Enter Bloodrage
Full-round, charge
Acrobatics, leap over fallen enemy with running start: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Move to two squares right of Cathis
Attack the prone, dazed swordsman. Charge, Bloodrage, Destined Strike, Power attack vs Prone: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 2 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 2 + 2 + 1 - 1 = 14
Damage, Bloodrage, Power Attack: 1d10 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 3 = 11

Well, you make quick work of the swordsman. It is hard to feel sorry for someone who just came out of nowhere with the intent to kill you, but he could certainly be pitied.
You quickly finish them off, and are free to exit with your documents.
You deliver Eylysia’s cache to the Grand Lodge. The crowd gathered around the Starstone Cathedral has disbanded, and many of the locals are still horrified following Sir Reinhart’s attempt to vault the chasm on horseback, which ended with a fall into oblivion.
Drandle Dreng personally thanks you for your successful investigation, indicating his interest in your future careers as Pathfinders. For those of you yet to complete your Confirmation, the venture-captain promises to speak with Master of Scrolls Kreighton Shaine to have the process expedited.
Several days later, each of you receives a missive summarizing some of the Society’s initial findings.
Pathfinder,
Your recent investigations and recovery of agent Eylysia’s papers have already yielded results. Under my direction, a team of scholars has tracked down the long-retired Society ciphers the gnome used and translated many of her entries. Although many of these records present valuable leads, one is especially timely and exciting.
Several months ago, the Pathfinder Society recovered an incomplete relic called the Sky Key. Its missing components disappeared millennia ago, carried by dwarven refugees to the far corners of Avistan and beyond, and the Society has struggled to follow these faint trails to piece the potent device back together. It appears Eylysia may have found one of the pieces centuries ago! She writes of a visit to Tar Kuata in Osirion, where she not only met with the Iroran devotees there, but also the curious order of dwarven monks known as the Ouat. According to her journals, some of the resident dwarves’ ancestors arrived long ago from the distant north bearing a broken treasure of wire and steel. Based on additional context and several magical divinations, I have reason to believe Eylysia—and you—may have found one of the lost pieces of the Sky Key!
I have contacted Venture-Captain Norden Balentiir in Sothis to prepare for an expedition. You have already demonstrated your resourcefulness by uncovering this information; when I assemble a team to travel to Tar Kuata, I hope you will consider joining the expedition.
Highest regards,
Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin
And that concludes this adventure! Congratulations, all.
I will get chronicles out shortly. If anyone has notes to add for purchases, day job, faction cards, etc., post to the discussion thread please.
