Ralklain heavily sighs, lowering his head for a second before turning back to the hopeless man. He waits for Sunic's question's answer, and then speaks:

Well, it seems we cannot help you more my friend, but you surely can help us. Please tell us about who did this to you. They didn't kill you for a reason. And can you draw us a quick map on the ground showing us what you know from the place?


At the first movement of the tiger and the beginning of spellcasting, the ghoul Maurit turns and runs by Alia and away down the canyon, hissing-shouting "Betrayal! Betrayal, again! Again!"

The ghoul takes a double move to move 60 ft. back down the canyon (south or 'right'), dodging behind some sandstone pillars.

If Pizzmic and Alia have melee weapons readied you can attempt an attack of opportunity each.

Unless stopped, I'll assume she escapes since she can get cover and knows the terrain much better than you do (and I don't have that map).

Sunic - I missed where you said you would step into Pizzmic's space. That wouldn't be allowed, though, as I understand it, since normally you can't end a move in another creature's square.

Pizzmic has his crossbow drawn and is unable to make an ooa I meant to say something early about me and sunic walking in my square. And that's why I had pizzmic move himself into his. I didnt know how strictly pbp aheres movement and all. Later on there is a feat that allows u to switch places with another party member but I think both of you have to have it. because the creature is fleeing it will not trigger the readied action. Pizzmic has no conviction to chase it down and sincerely pitys the tormented creature. this damned creature is alone and scared and forsaken to become a mindless beast. I know the stance the society takes against the undead although I disagree with it. Muriel will need to be disposed and given a proper burial. we mustn't let her escape she is danger to both the pathfinder and unsuspecting traveler alike. Even though we can't save her flesh maybe there is still hope for her soul. if it makes the game faster, and dm doesn't want us to chase her (aka no map for an unseen mess up on our part) she could be let to disappear

Sunic feels something in his gut as he hears the gnome's little speech, a tear comes to his eye and he falls to one knee, lowering his head and speaking in a hushed tone.


It's both - too hard to do a chase, and it seems that she has the advantages with knowledge and a bit of a head start, although Exitium could possibly change things with the advantage of speed.

But, you can probably expect to see her again.

Well, sorry for that precipitated movement. I wanted to scream that she was wrong but it would draw too much attention. But i'm not gonna agree with you pizzmic, we have work to do. Besides, how strong can a single person become if we let her escape? We may find her on the way back. At least we know she was betrayed, that's a start.

As for the next steps, do you really want to fight kobolds? I do think we should save our power for what awaits us inside, since i don't believe the kobolds will have valuable information about the place, and if they have they won't say. They are probably scared to death of going inside...

And can someone please explain to me how did she turn into a ghoul?

Being completely dumfounded by ralklain's remark pizzmic will respond with an obvious heir of indignation how strong could she be? Maybe not very strong at all, maybe only strong enough to down a young child or the elderly. The danger she poses is less of the point, I remember the lass from the lodge and to leave her corrupted to serve an eternity of undeath is not only wrong but inmoral I don't care at all, but you have to either convince pizzmic he's wrong or lie/bulldog him into doing what you want

There are others like her out there, she'll join them once her transformation is complete. She will not remember us. I'd rather not run into a pack of those things trying to chase her down. We should get on with our mission within the keep.

She looks about again for signs of the creature or any of its ilk.

If I were to succumb to such a condition, Alia says solemnly, looking each party member in eye, I can only hope you would relieve me of it. As if to emphasize her point, she sheathes her sword forcefully.

I'll meet you all at the entrance, I need a moment to myself to reflect on my actions. Chasing her isn't a good idea either way I look at it, we'd have the answers if you all hadn't startled her. I'm apologize, I don't mean to blame anyone.

With a quick turn he runs toward the cliff and begins to effortlessly ascend, one jump and grab at a time.

Pizzmic degrudingly follows suit looking up at the shear surface he mutters to himself in gnomish ghouls and now a confounded cliff. *string of curse words* pizzmic looking up at the cliff decdes he rather make the climb without help even if doubtful climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5 as expected the climb was too steep for the gnome to ascend. Pizzmic looks up towards the top of the cliff and yells to sunic sunic could you please send down a rope friend?

As Ralklain falls Sunic realizes that the group may need help ascending the wall, he wraps the rope in his bag around his forearm and then one spin around his waist for maximum support and throws the lag over the cliff.Screw you lag! He braces to help pull up anyone that attempts to use it. Come along friends!

Pizzmic waits his turn to be pulled up by the mighty sunic thanking and tipping his hat to him thank you master Mitsarugy, your brawn is proving quite useful pizzmic will "help" sunic pull up any remaining members up the rope, afterward casting prestidigation on himself and any party member who wants the dust and grime wiped away.


With Sunic's help and the rope, everyone would be able to climb the rubble slope relatively easily.

Probably a DC 5 or less, and you can Take 10 out of combat. No one was hurt in any falls - maybe if the roll was really bad they might have been on sharp rocks and old, broken bone fragments.

Sunic nods back looking to Ralklain with his signature lovable smile, he smiles nodding slightly to each group member trying to remember them by face.

After helping each member he packs up his rope and throws it over his shoulder standing aside watching for his moment to take the lead once the door is open. Doors not being his thing either, he looks over to Alia and smiles slightly nodding, Ready for the fun? he asks before looking back to the door way leans against the wall.

I can't wait to see this Jade thing, then its on to the next adventure! he smiles slightly bigger at the idea of glorious victory then at Alia, you can see him daydreaming.


Sorry, Ralklain, I forgot to say that there was nothing on the other side of the sandstone tower.

You can also Take 20 (2 minutes) if you aren't in a hurry.

Ralklain listens at the door with great care but hears nothing coming from the other side. He opens the door which, though weakened by the earthquake and subsequent centuries, opens easily.

There is no light coming inside, and what you see is illuminated by rays of sunlight from outside.

You can let me know who has what sources of light. I'll assume the half-orcs are using their darkvision, of course, as does Exitium, and that Pizzmic has low-light vision.

Attached to the north wall at this corridor junction is the relief carving of a giant face. The relief is that of a Qadiran man with a billowing beard. His eyes are closed, and his lips are parted, as if he were blowing out a flame. His lips frame a deep hole in the wall. The paint once adorning the relief is chipped and faded, but traces of its brilliant blues and pristine whites are still visible here and there. On the man’s forehead is a single Kelish word, carved in a flowing script.

The floor in front of you is a dingy tile, and off in the distance you can see piles of rubble. The ceiling here is quite high - about 15 - in the hallway. At one time, the ceilings were plastered and painted and featured mosaics, as were the walls, but much of that decoration has fallen off both and now litters the floor.

Pizzmic bravely walks behind Sunic entering the building ok brethren hold fast we need to approach this area with caution for without doubt baddies and more than likely traps abound perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 pizzmic is looking for any potential treats like enemies and traps while also keeping an eye out for the trade agreements. He will also cast detect magic in the round as his standard action

Sunic nods as if in agreement and steps forward keeping his senses about him, he approaches the face in snapping turtle stance and looks around him. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Ok this will be my first fight in a PbP so please forgive I don't know the whole battle system yet, and i'm new to the class, but the jest of any combat is gonna be grappling. I'm reading up on my options right now.


You don't see much, but then there isn't much light coming in. The face remains stationary; it appears to be an old carving (at least...).

Alia casts Light onto her splint mail. Slinging her crossbow, she draws her scimitar, and advances with the group, alert to danger.

These rocks and such could come crashing down at any moment.

This type of site is probably riddled with traps!

Wuliem again peers into the darkness--suddenly brighten!--blinks a few times--allowing a smile in Alia's direction--and attempts to locate any mechanical dangers.

Sorry i don't speak that language, whichever it is, but that face does look like a fire spitting trap, has anyone checked it out? Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (15) + 0 = 15 He looks at the floor, specially looking for anything that could mean that it is a trap, or for trails of blood.

Ralklain casts Light on a tiny rock and trow it into the upper corridor, about 50 feet if i doesn't hit anything until there.
Let's see how far this way goes...

Pizzmic is slightly surprized that Sunic would ask which way to go but nonetheless says well Sunic this entire place needs to be investigated I doubt anyway is better or worse but my vote is to go right, everyone seem ok with that?Pizzmic ever so subtly glancing up at Alia he continues I do however suggest we stick together, even if it might take longer to search these ruins we will be safer and more capable of aiding one another

Narvik adjusts his eyes to the light source and looks at the figure in front of them. I would have thought a trap would have gone off by now, but it is old. Best be careful. Looking at the gnome, I agree, I think it best to try to follow the right wall when possible whenever exploring a place such as this.

The half-orc then spots the writing. Umm, languages are not my thing. Can anyone read that?

With all the trap talk Sunic becomes fixated on the statue and moves to the right of it, just barely into the hall way to make sure he isn't going to receive any kind of flame to the face.

I would advise us to move past the supposed trap area, no reason to discuss the cannon with the barrel in your face, yes? he tries to make a witty comment, he finds himself sometimes feeling dumb so when the chance occurs he grabs it by the horns.

As he approaches his destination he tries to see if he can see anything ahead, Perception: 10 + 6 = 16

That is a good idea Ralklain, but unfortunately I am using the same 'character' as a GM for two runs of this same scenario, so I think the status line idea wouldn't work, at least for now.

There isn't anything that you can see that suggests the face is a trap.

The lit stone thrown by Ralklain flies about 35 feet before being stuck in what appears to be thick webbing.
Indicated by the white dot placed down the hallway.

Just ahead of Sunic to the left (north) is a door.
Marked in yellow.

The face does not seem to be particularly familiar to Pizzmic from local knowledge or history, beyond being a common enough personification of air or wind; like sun and moon faces, this might be a 'windy cloud' face.

Pizzmic is follow Sunic cauciously having seen the web decided to look above as the party appoarches. I have one spell prepared that could help burn throw the web but its intention was to be saved to burn some undead if the case presents itself

Hmm, seems I have no source of fire. Narvik has the Light spell and darkvision so he just doesn't think of torches for that reason. If we need more light I can answer that need.

Narvil will cast Light on his morningstar, switching to that weapon now that they are inside. I will try to take a look around in order to get a better view of our surroundings.
