i played in a game with a buddy who ran a human paladin of apsu. The guy whiffed the first half of the campaign and became a joke around the table. But when we hit lvl 8 we encountered a CR 12 liche preist, The liche killed a rogue with word of death, paralzed one more and had a staff of fireballs on top of that. When all his abilities Proc'ed he did like 70ish damage to the creature in one hit and triggered the death by massive injure check. He solo killed a boss 4 levels above us!....My point is Paladins seem to start slow but in certain situations become insane at mid to high levels. They have a lot of utility and at the very least work as the moral compass of the group.
I've started this campaign several times now and honestly (Hero can attest) this is the best group so far. The group has flavorful characters and the roles will become more defined as we continue. The first part of the scenario drags a lil with a lot of investigation, so some of the support characters will have a blast being there is a lot of RP interaction early on. The story will begin to unfold and the combat guys will be able to start rolling dice. Eldon's Nat 20 dealing with the mob solved the first encounter without bloodshed. I don't know if i introduced myself on here or not but my name is Les, I'm 25 and live in south NJ. I'm a uber nerd when it comes to tabletop gaming. I briefly owned a game store here in NJ a couple years ago and have played almost every specialist game out there. I play a ton of miniature games F2F and luckily have a solid gaming community of friends that share similar hobbies. I'm currently going to junior college for Human Services with the intention of transferring next year to gain my bachelor's in Social Work.
I'm really interested in playing in a long term pbp. i have a level one character that would be really interesting to see in action. DOLGRIN the halfing barbarian(titan mauler archtype)
Yeah I know the massive time sink DMing can be and def appericiate you taking the time to run this for us. Those map campaigns like the one you are using are a pain in the butt and can be hard to build/navigate through.I agree that this format is awesome because of the time you are able to plan what to do and delve more intk the rp aspect I guess I just want my cake and eat it too as it were
So I know I stalk the boards quite a bit throughout the day but I was wondering is there a day during the week where we could set up a couple hrs of gaming as a group? I understand most ppl have busy schedules and might even live in different times zones. I work Tuesday through Sunday from 3am til about 2pm, Thursday and Sunday nights I have my nerd sessions from 8pm to about midnight. Maybe we can work out a day that most of the party and gm can post and kinda have the content grind session? I don't know if that's how pbp go from time to time but I think I'd would be cool to at least consider trying assuming everyone is interested
Pizzmic waits his turn to be pulled up by the mighty sunic thanking and tipping his hat to him thank you master Mitsarugy, your brawn is proving quite useful pizzmic will "help" sunic pull up any remaining members up the rope, afterward casting prestidigation on himself and any party member who wants the dust and grime wiped away.
To aviod bogging up the gamplay feed ill comment on the stealth concern here. The wqy I have always seen it played is if the creature has noticed you then stealth is out. As a rule if we have to roll int. The time for stealthing has passed (assumming dm isnt changing the rule for this campaign) If u want stealthing to be your thing you should stay stealthed after encounters. Also remeimder most undead and incorpeal creatures don't need to see you in order to sense you.
well i check and post from my phone a lot right now, Pizzmic is talkative and often wants to be public relations. i don't want to limit anyone's character arcs. Pizzmic will fight for the title through his actions and might cause for some cool banter as a result. I don't mind the responsibility and would be willing to do so if it will allow for efficient game-play and no one else's character's minded.
Pizzmic reaches out and grabs a handful of leaves from the closest hanging branch, casts prestidigitation to flavor them to be bearable to eat. pizzmic hands the monk a heaping handful of leaves here you go sir, its not a great meal but it'll do until we have time to stop and prepare something more suiting
ok so i have a question about character building in PFS, are we allowed to use spells from APG and ultimate magic? are we able to use alternate racial traits? currently im using neither but i meant to ask before we went into the party because id like to edit pizzmic a little if those things are permitted. |
